Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I have a soft spot for Liam but Tom (a faceless NPC) is literally the GOAT along with the rest of his troupe
Probably why I like Liam the most out of everyone tbh (literally the only one who the MC clearly bonds with and the only one who I feel an actual kindness from besides Elbert[???], and whose friends outside of Crown are extremely wholesome, though ig maybe theatre people are just a different breed)

He's like the least popular male protag in this game tho lol,,, (I don't get it)

Ik they didn't want to doxx F/SR Archer, but c'mon, why couldn't Waver be one of the Rogue Servants? They could handwave it with a comment like "well ig he's here because of Zheng Chenggong, a fellow tactician" (if you can call him one.)
I really wanted him to be around since he's one of the sanest people around in Chaldea (but simultaneously also crazy...driven crazy by any shenanigans that happen in his vicinity) so I'm sure he would've been SUPER entertaining to watch in-story

I'm pretty much the "I'm not immune to ____ propaganda" guy when it comes to SGYY

The endless violence and bloodshed is strangely healing in that I can remember how the Ancient Chinese have been through so much that I need to shut up and weather it out.

That being said, even the Ancient Chinese would've been more prudent if they had nuclear weapons, so maybe people were saner back then.
Just try not to think about how many people died without the invention of nuclear weapons being in the equation and focus on the positive side, you see?

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I dreamed that for some reason we were back on the old forums and as old forums tended to go, there was some kinda fight going on and the drama was big enough that some of us were getting sucked into it.
It was stressing me out a ton and I considered leaving, but then I suppose my mind thought, "At least this way, I can see them again, and talk to them."
So then I stayed and stressed myself the heck out. It was glorious decision-making by me. I don't remember a thing except for the anxiety.

Using a HYXHN dialogue tidbit because for some reason its dialogue is extremely iconic for me lol:
"是啊,这样多好。"

Speaking of HYXHN, I must reiterate that Feng Xi must be the most clowned on manhua antagonist character who isn't just straight up from cartoons
She's in the wrong genre I think.
Funny meme potential: Her and Hei Xiaohu drinking it out (/j, he would try to kill her and then get absorbed or some crap. At least if it was at any point in his character arc that wasn't near the end)

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Omg QXZ and HXYHN character role swap idea!! /hj

I kinda feel like Dongfang Yuechu and Honghong would be able to vibe so much better in QXZ lol. Meanwhile,,, I actually dunno what Hongmao would do about the crap in HYXHN, but he actually has so much charisma that I think it would work out.
Turns out they need to switch worlds (half joking, half serious, I haven't put enough thought into this tbh)

It's kinda funny in retrospect how badly QXZ powerscales into HYXHN of all worlds tbh. I'm not talking about swordplay since idk how the Heroes from QXZ compare to Wangquan Fugui (I somewhat feel like in terms of like, pure will and technique he has all of them beat, but I'm not sure how the elemental stuff scales into it), just in general. Goes to show how different wuxia worlds (if HYXHN can even be called that) are built differently despite having similar principles.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

The only slight downside to considering this idea is that now I have to think about what animal Dongfang Yuechu would be if he were one.
I do not specialize in this line of thought. The other day I was thinking about what animal/species Rai and Wiley would be from Arknights and I was not having a good time, so I stopped.
I think Aegir Raez is a cool idea, probably because he'd still come from Ursus, which is mostly made of bears. So people think he's a bear but he's not, he's some kinda marine creature (also lets Wiley continue to call him fish nicknames)
Going along with usual Rai shenanigans, he'd probably be Sarkaz but idk, maybe an Oni would make sense too. Trying to keep nationalities somewhat straightened out here.
Also I was thinking about cat Wiley purely to make fun of him, but it doesn't make any sense at all lol, even though I woke up and remembered that Victoria is mostly Felines. So I was thinking about making him some real pathetic Aslan or Draco (where he pretends to be a mangy Feline or Vouivre and that somehow works because it's him), which is pretty funny but also not really clicking in my head...probably because of the entire "past royalty" thing...so I guess we'll see. He's neither Sarkaz nor Sankta though, so that also narrows it down even more.
Going from a character perspective, maybe Lupo or Phidia work best? Idk.

I think skunk Wiley is the way to go, fellas.
What do you mean? I'm super nice to him.
I think he should be the land creature while Raez and Rai are more water-oriented since it fits their characters.

Also, it doesn't matter what his race is since we know heck all about what Gaul's race mixture looked like.
His personality is pretty Gaulish too ngl (note: this is a pun, not actual fact, but it is also a half joke. Good luck figuring out what this means.)

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Raez has since let me know that Wiley is a parrot because he:
1) Is super colorful
2) "Is very loud" (like him)
3) Talks a lot
4) Feels like he would wiggle around on trees singing songs (???? what does this mean)

I told him Wiley and Pete can both be skunks and he didn't budge. And this dude likes skunks (he doesn't care about smell and they would never spray him anyways), so.

So in other news, Raez is always right and ig Arknights Wiley will be Liberi, just weirdly tall and gangly for some reason. Also specifically a parrot.

I'm trying really hard to figure out if Raez just wants to call Wiley by the same nickname for most universes. I can't really tell tbh.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Endfield news!

-Apparently something went super duper wrong with Paypal. I don't know much about this other than that it spawns chaos. I am entertained.
-Lag, lag, more lag. My device cannot handle this game so I will cherish it while it still does run.
-Galaxian cannot remember locations. Apparently this game is like 70% factory. I'm doomed.
-I beat up anyone I see

The story is fine. It's literally story at launch, so I wasn't going into it with high expectations. I can see it boring someone out though. I think the devs went with the approach of leaning less into the imminent catastrophe intro that Arknights used at its launch?
I saw someone who had their signature as "Limbus is better tbh". Funnily enough I have no opinion on the two games' first chapters. Endfield has too many tutorials. Limbus doesn't have enough. Both entail a lot of reading. But it does feel like I'm at least allowed to progress through Endfield at my own pace without getting stopped for resource checks, so I'm fine in this department for now.
Gameplay is okay, I dunno how well my skills will be even after development, plus lag doesn't help. I need to get better at switching between characters and getting out of the way of damage.
First impressions: I think I was more captivated by Arknights starting off. I think OG Arknights had better character design and more memorable OST. That being said, I adore the scenery in Endfield immensely, and imo the character sprites are the prettiest 3D ones I've seen anywhere. ...I don't actually have much experience seeing 3D sprites outside of obvious ones like Genshin, Wuwa, Honkai, etc., but yeah.

I have no targets in this game, especially since all the Arknights references characters are those I do not have. But there are some guys and gals who are superrrrr pretty. There's a guy who looks like younger Hellagur and he's the most handsome guy I've seen thus far:

(He looks kinda like those xianxia guys with his facial proportions, but then he got me with the silver hair lol. Hellagur himself is quite handsome)

Trying to figure out if the system has your statistical odds of getting Fluorite as like 85% or if she just really likes me.

Also in...news, I cannot design Pete.
There isn't actually news. I have never been able to design Pete. There is something about anyone related to Wiley and Raez that makes them impossible to design. It's like some kinda contagious quality or something.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I LOVE RUSSIAN MEN
Specifically Pogranichnik and Raez and Tachanka. I don't know many Russian men.

I got Endfield Surtr (Laevatain) and Pogranichnik. Plus Ardelia (Ejya) and Antal (12F). It's lowkey hilarious because I don't have any of these the first three in Arknights itself. But anyways, gotta love all three of my first 6-stars being RI operators.

Design-wise I think I like Wulfgard the most out of everyone, but that's because I think I have some kinda bias for wolf guys. (I am lying, it's the super cool entrance he made, plus he uses two guns!!) (I love dual-wielders.) But Pogranhichnik and Laevatain are also super cool-looking. Especially Laevatain's in-battle animations. I suspect whomever cooked for her is a hardcore Surtr fan lol.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

My favorite part of playing a new game (that doesn't entail like. A ton of memorization only) is the skill curve for the first few days
My improvement in the first few days is extreme, and then after that it just kinda levels. It's normal obviously, because my skill issues the first few days are very severe lol
But anyways, it's nice while it lasts because it gives a big confidence boost

It also somehow escaped my notice that Starset made an entire song for the Endfield trailer, which I will link here.
I hecking love Arknights trailers, man. And I love when they use Starset music alongside them. It'd be boring if they did it every time, but that's why they don't do that lol. And so it remains special.
For some reason this trailer gives off a kinda weird vibe of watching everything from the end? I feel nostalgia from a game I've only started to play.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I still find it hella funny that all an open-world game means is that a character can be like "O' highly intelligent, prodigious...Endministrator! Please help us with this mission! This way!" and then I just go to the edge of the ravine and jump off to see if I can die by fall damage
Same thing with the Dijiang tour, I immediately tried to see if I could fall into outer space and implode.

Btw, there is no fall damage, but you do die as soon as you touch water, so I have a theory that the Endministrator is secretly a slug.

If my camera would pan instead of getting stuck randomly and if the game randomly just Full Stop every once in a while, I would probably be better at fights.
Ofc there's also enemy targeting weirdness, but yeah, I mostly just can't see what is going on sometimes.

It's going much better than it used to, though. I have faith.

Endfield teaching me that getting Galaxian Explosioned is diabolical, but getting Galaxian Explosioned with camera lock on the boss that is exploding you is worse because you have no idea which direction to dodge in at any given moment. It's like some sorta "your direction of running should be tangent to the ?????????" sort of thing.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

The reason I'm too afraid to watch or read Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is because I would probably start fantasizing about Himmel and Frieren in HYXHN, then realize they aren't in HYXHN, and then get destroyed lol.
Even worse, HYXHN's premise would go against every theme in Frieren to my knowledge.

That being said, I feel like Dongfang Yuechu and Himmel are like...super super similar. If they were in each other's world, I think they would end up doing the exact same thing the other did. And as the "basic nature" of their deeds goes...it's pretty much "That's the same picture." meme.
Funny mental image of them vibing and talking about how cute elf/fox ears are lol

Also I probably will watch it someday, because I keep talking about CPs with my mom but like...I don't have many examples of actual developed ones. So, I am eyeing Himmel and Frieren like 👁️👁️
The trouble is that my mom hates bad endings to romance, while I'm a sucker for tragedies, so. Maybe it wouldn't work to begin with.
