...the narrator thought they were hot pink. Okay, lesson learned and then immediately forgotten.
"That's cool," Sunny remarks, which sounds weird coming from him. Not because it's too casual, but rather...oh, you know the meaning. "Did you see them around often?"
Somehow, he manages to jolt his head toward the café entrance while keeping his words completely level. Bro, don't do that, or one of your neck hinges might snap.

The boy nodded again. "There were a lot, more and more each year. They grow when the days are long. You can tell when summer will end, they stop giving flowers. And they're gone when the snow falls."
"But they return the next summer. Over and over." He kicked his legs as he spoke, choosing to ignore the new customers as he heard their steps getting further away.

"I'm glad they grow in places where the frost isn't heavy enough to get to the roots," says Sunny. He doesn't check to see if Caster's legs are long enough to reach him under the table.

All good though, no accidental kicking Sunny in the knee or anything of the sort.
Caster nodded along to what was said, then slid the book back to Sunny.
"Which one is your favorite?"

(Hey so just so you know, I think Sunny implied an answer for Caster's question a few posts ago here, let me know if you want to make any changes before I respond or not)

(Cursed thought of Caster kicking Sunny in the knee and Sunny just buckling xD)
Sunny blinks, seemingly puzzled. "Between the alstroemeria and fireweed, or something else?"
(Gotta love my ultra lazy method of "just have the character ask rather than try to understand themselves", but hey, this is good communication! Right! ...Right?)

((Caster being so short is actually his power, he kicks you in the shin and steals your kneecaps))
"No, in the book." Caster tilted his head and stared. "I don't know what you like. It's hard to choose one from just two."
He hesitated for a moment, returning his sight to the book, and said nothing else. Of course a single book would not have information on all flowers and plants.

(I am so worried for all the other Servants rn)
Funnily enough, it's easier for Sunny to choose one for two--as indicated by him tilting his head this way and that at the question, while simultaneously making some kind of effort to not make the head tilting apparent.
"Snapdragons are nice," he says at the end.
By the way, the blandness of the answer means he couldn't actually choose one.

Caster nudged the book that was in front of Sunny again, though he didn't speak up this time.

(We [Sunny and I] feel judged xD)
Sunny takes the book as naturally as one would breathe or eat. He even scoots out on his chair slightly, places it on his lap, and flips through the pages that way. Looks like he's more comfortable doing it this way.
"Snapdragons are funny as well. Well, not necessarily funny, but it's amusing, the family they belong to. Figwort." Flipping the pages, he makes a point of looking up at Caster as he says that. "It's like if you had a last name and it was that. Snapdragon Figwort. Isn't that sort of funny?"
Bro, your name is Sunshine Meep.

((That's all on Caster do not blame me for that xD))
Caster seemed pleased at Sunny finally getting the hint, so he leaned forward on the table with both his forearms for support.
"It... doesn't sound like a name for a person, or a plant. A magical creature could be named Figwort. A pet, too."

The narrator sees communication classes being in their foreseeable future.
"It sounds kind of like a Whomping Willow," Sunny says.
He definitely doesn't know what he's saying anymore.
Offline
"Willow. Like the tree. That's a person name too." Caster seems to be following a train of thought. Which one? Who knows, but it's one for sure.
For now, the child had half climbed on the table without being scolded for his manners.
More customers, four to be precise, crossed the doors to the café. One in particular stood out thanks to the way she stopped right after the entrance, forcing the others to step around.
That pale golden hair is unmistakable. Sollux squinted around until she spotted her brother and then went straight towards that table with a smile. The bounce in her step almost makes it feel like she's skipping.

Sunny doesn't notice his own sister coming in. His situational awareness probably needs some work. Mostly, he's just focused on brainstorming more names related to plants, because apparently that is where the conversation is going.
"Mhm. And Magnolia. And Holly. Yvonne too. And Rosa."
(For some reason when I read Caster being on the table I imagine him Expanding like some sort of humanoid goo)

“Heather,” the Servant thoughtfully offered another name.
Sollux didn’t seem to mind not being noticed. Actually, she might not have realized it herself. She simply continued on her confident way to the table while fiddling with the strap of her camera that was getting twisted up with the one on her bag. Maybe it'd be easier to have the camera hanging forward instead of leaving both it and the bag slanted to the same left side.
She finally got to the place and set down her hand firmly on the tabletop. "Alright!" Lux grinned widely before pulling out one of the chairs, inviting herself to take a seat in front of Sunny. She also made sure to wave lightly at Caster who had taken to staring at her upon noticing her arrival. "Now this is a proper good morning greeting. Did you order yet?"
Offline
Sunny nearly kicks the table base, but other than that, and the fact he forgets to keep the naming conversation going, and the way he's staring at Sollux like a startled cat...where was this sentence going?
Sollux must be seeing quite a pretty sight. Her brother has a book on his lap like an absolute nerd, and Caster is partially sprawled out onto the table. Plus there is no food on the table yet.
"...Juniper," the young man finally mutters.
