Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Sunny manages to look up in an attempt to establish eye contact with the waiter, and gives something of a friendly smile as he answers, "Alright. That's a shame about the croissants."
He can't always be super socially inept in front of his own Servant, right? That simply would not do.
"Actually..." the mage leans forward slightly, taking the menu on top and sliding it across the table to his own side. "We have another person who will come here, so we may order closer to when she arrives. Do you have anything you would recommend for us?"

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

“Alright!” The waiter was prompt to reply. “We have breakfast sets on this page, both sweet and savory. The first ones over here come with juice and the ones on this other page have both juice and a coffee. But one of our more popular options is the club sandwich set.” As he spoke, his finger pointed out to the different parts of the page. The last part had brightly colored letters. “I’d suggest a set with ciabatta rolls, those are super soft. Also, there’s a kids’ menu. Of course, you might rather order everything separately, in which case…” The page was flipped back.
“There’s fresh fruit smoothies that are pretty good and also the rest of the hot drinks as you can see here. And, other kinds of sides that aren’t included in the promotional sets, like mozzarella chicken sandwich or vegan double deckers.”
No mention of pastries, huh. The waiter seems to be fixated on breakfast. But there’s still a few pages left to explore of the menu.
Meanwhile, Caster had rested his head on his forearms again, silently enjoying the yummy scent of baked goods.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

(Welcome to Caster Thread #2, where Sunny is getting neuromarketed)

Honestly at this point, you could probably ask Sunny whether he prefers sweet over savory and he wouldn't even know. The only thing keeping him from looking all starry-eyed over the recommendations is all the layers of dead inside stacked on top.
"Thank you. Allow me to consult with my attorney to see what we should get."
...He realizes they didn't agree on a name to call Caster in public.
He looks toward Caster. "Did you want to order some soup to start...Max...well?"

Well, it does sound like an attorney name.

(Cue "does this look like a Maxwell to you" *points to Caster*)

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Caster was daydreaming of the taste of bread in his mouth. However, he walked all the way over to this place for the promise of soup, and the mention of that (along with Sunny's gaze) was enough to bring him back to attention.
Thankfully for the mage, the boy doesn't even think of saying something like "who" or "that's not my name". It's more like he ignored it.
"Mhm," he replied with a little nod. "Vegetable soup? Like you promised?"

"We have soups as well, on the page before the last," the waiter offers, not missing a beat. He's doing a wonderful job at not looking confused or weirded out. Or maybe he's just used to all kinds of customers on the daily and doesn't even bat an eye. "If you need an extra bowl for the kid we can provide that too."

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

"Of course," replies Sunny to Caster. Giving a nod of acknowledgement to the waiter's words, he flips the menu to the page the waiter indicated, giving it a quick skim.
"Alright, then could we please start off with one bowl of vegetable soup, one bowl of potato leek soup, and..." He looks over to Caster. "Is there a type of bread you would like?"
Surprisingly, he's noticed that Caster hasn't made any move to look at the menu yet, but thinks he should ask just in case.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

“Bread... fresh from the oven and soft. Not all hard and without any taste. I like it when it’s not too salty, too.”
Meanwhile, the waiter had taken out a notepad to write down the order. “Everything is freshly prepared here on a daily basis,” he said, addressing Sunny even though the reply was to Caster’s statement. “May I take the menus, or will you want to keep looking them over for a bit?”
Upon hearing that, Caster placed a hand on top of the plastic-laminated page of the menu in front of him. “I want to see mine.”

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

It takes him a beat to realize the waiter is still speaking to him rather than Caster. "Oh, if we could please keep them for now, that'd be great. Unless you are low on supply, in which case you could take mine."
He seems to be holding on tightly to his menu, though, even as he nudges the other one toward Caster a little. He's a bit limited in his motions as a result.
Where is Sollux? A prickle of doubt is always there in his mind, and at the moment it seems to be related to whether he and Caster should have waited for her to come to the cafe.
Sir, it's been like 5 minutes.
