Eventually Agni stopped momentarily and threw Aestus at the squirrel with kept running his Caligo, now, and somehow, awkwardly on the mans back.
Offline
Caligo let out an offended gasp, giving a good hit to Agni’s shoulder for this horrible crime, Aestus only let out a squeak, before griping tightly into the squirrel he was thrown at, his talons digging in the thick fur.
Offline
"OW! YOU MOTHERFU--" the squirrel roared and put it's small paws on the gods hand and threw him off his back and placed him on his feet. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!"
Agni rubbed his shoulder and hissed softly at Caligo before dropped him on the floor and walked up to the squirrel. "Oh you damn little nut tosser! You're not a Sentinal!"
Offline
Aestus was all fluffed up looking ready to fight the squirrel, before Caligo picked him back up and smoothed his feathers down.
"What do you mean? You said it was one!" Caligo asked outraged.
Offline
"Yeah, in training!" Agni hissed at the squirrel. "Ya little runt I should skin ya for disobeying me!"
The nut chucker (canon name now) fur stood on end at he climbed up the gods shoulders and sat on their head, jumping between the two. Agni was not having it, his face burned red and he was not happy. He grabbed the squirrel with both hands and kicked him into the air and watched him land on the ground with a small thud. For a split second, the ground sounded metallic. The squirrel rolled on his back and looked at Agni's searing gaze. "Oops....."
Offline
The two could only standby, bewildered at the scene that happened in front of them, not even able to fully shake the squirrel off either of them with how it bounced between them both.
They both look somewhat horrifying that Agni would just, quick such a small creature with so much force, sure they instinctively didn’t like squirrels, but did they really deserve such treatment?

“Cal, Aestus, this is Fleur, the official-unofficial watchdog and Sentinel wannabe. He’s a hell of a trouble makes and loves to steal my snacks….”
Offline
"Nice to meet you?" Caligo greeted hesitantly, they did just chase the poor thing down after all, Aestus chittered, Cal still can’t tell if he truly cannot speak like this or is just enjoying not having to contribute anything to a conversation… he won’t complain as long as his sun keep making cute little noises.
Offline
'Stop.'
The word flashed into the minds of the four. They all knew it was Catalyst. It's easy to tell since they all felt the touch of it on their minds before. As if on command, Catalyst's command, they all froze in place. Agni took a second before he lurched forward and nearly fell down, catching himself. The smile on his face was wiped clean. He sighed and straightened his posture and cracked his neck. "Right, sorry. I've a job here. I'll continue. Inform Pax of the delay." he told the Soul before it's presence and hold on them all left.
Offline
As soon as the hold left them, both Caligo and Aestus shivered, Aestus was all puffed up from it.
"I hope they never do that again." Cal said. Hugging Aestus close
Offline
“It will happen as many times as needed. Catalyst is a whole different thing.” Agni replied to the two. The squirrel-like Sentinel squeekee a few times before scrambling onto Agni’s shoulder. “Let’s delta.”
Offline
Caligo groaned, but followed after Agni regardless
Offline
“Don’t groan at me! I didn’t do shit! Blame that…THING for being a pain!”
Offline
"Would it ease the pain in our souls?" Caligo asked, Aestus couldn’t help the cackles that left him, who knew Cal could be serious!
Offline
Neither of the two respond, let alone acknowledge what they said. Either they didn't want to answer, or they couldn't. Agni shifted his weight around and left the question in the air before spacing out. Leaving the 'Sentinel' to clean up.
"Let's just keep moving. I would rather not upset Catalyst again, let alone Praxis. I'm sure you're aware of the formal nature of Garcarnia yes? Good, then just call me Alter. While Azure himself is right, I'm not a Sentinel, it's not like it matters much anyways. You;ll find your own truth of things sooner or later. But as of right now, just keep walking forward, step by step. Someone's bound to notice and get you home...maybe. Hard to say, you two are really..." Alter stopped talking. Not sure why, but he just did. Perhaps he said too much, or maybe Catalyst said something, maybe even Agni.
Offline
While Aestus wondered why Alter just cut himself off like that, Caligo just groaned "Ast is the formal one, I barely paid attention when he tried to teach me proper etiquette" Aestus let out a offended squawk at that "I am sorry! I regret that now…no chance you can change back before we get there?" The small bird-moth creature tried change back, maybe he found how to change freely, maybe his outrage toward Caligo ignoring his lesson had gotten to him, either way he was back to normal…in Caligo’s arms.
Offline
Neither of the two made any form of response. Alter threw another nut at Aestus though. So that's something. Agni however, just stared at the two, clearly unamused by their antics.
Offline
Aestus threw the but right back at Alter, is it petty? Maybe, was it satisfying after having to chase him down? Yes absolutely
"Oh thanks Clockwork and Wester, i don’t have to be the responsable one anymore" Caligo blurted out suddenly
"Happy to see you too, you can put me down now." Aestus responded with a smile, but Cal smiled able and ignored that last part to kept carrying his sun
Offline
If you two are done, then I would suggest we keep on moving." Agni told the gods. Especially Caligo. Alter paid little mind and already decided to pick the pace for himself, walking ahead.
Offline
Agni can hear quite the scuffle behind him, as well as what sound like swears in what can be assumed to be the gods’s native langage, before said gods catch back up, having switched position, somewhat unwillingly on one side judging by how Caligo was seemingly pouting, yet secretly happy if the way his tail wagged was anything to go by.
Offline
Agni just about gave up and followed in the footsteps of Alter. Leaving behind a wave of muffled curses.
Offline
They both simply kept following alter and Agni, Caligo stopped pouting and started fixed Aestus’s outfit, it wasn’t terribly in disarray but it at least kept him occupy on top of being a familiar exercice.
Offline
“Aestus, sir, might I ask if I could borrow part of your horn? And Caligo’s too.” Alter asked the two. Agni threw him a glance, questioning the motive, but understanding it well.
Offline
"Horn?" Aestus asked confused, his antennas twitched "I mean I think I still have a shard of mine" Caligo searched his pockets for said shard
Offline
“Well, whatever appendage is easily healed. I’ll need some part of you to be able to authorize your entry into the capital. I could also just have Agni do it, but he’s too lazy more often than not.” He sneered and snot a glance at the azure-cladded man, who shot a venom filled glance at him.
Offline
"Oh. Would a feather be fine?" Aestus asked, meanwhile Caligo did find a small piece of his horn, it has noticeable bite mark on it Aestus raised an eyebrow seeing this "do you eat your horn again" Caligo smiled sheepishly, giving the piece to Alter.
