Hey so a parent reached out to me and I got from it a question to ask you (I feel like this is the weirdest way to introduce this but whatever)
So basically they have a 2-month old and a 24-year-old, both of them their children, but they said that the 24-year-old has "high-functioning autism" and can't be trusted with the 2-month old because they can't "understand boundaries". The reason why I am asking you is 'cause the moment I saw that I was like "huh", 'cause ik autism spectrum disorder is a spectrum and hence the name, but I'd think that "high-functioning" (and ik this isn't a formal label either) individuals would be capable of understanding that babies require special care/attention and all that? Or would it theoretically be possible for someone with autism to be high-functioning in other areas but more lacking in one, enough so that this would be true?

As usual sorry if this is unintentionally offensive, I'm just curious jfosjodsj tbh it's funny that one of my best friends has autism but I still don't know very much about it lol

Yeah, "high functioning" is a rather outdated term that still is used commonly in some areas lmao

So basically, yeah, someone autistic would be different in some areas than autistic person, obviously. I think, yeah, that could be the case. Like, I personally don't trust myself with babies because of my sensory issues being so bad lmao

But idk, I mean it is a spectrum disorder. But honestly, it's probably less autism and more of a "person who isn't good with babies" type deal and the autism is taking the blunt of the blame lmao

Yeah tbh I don't think I can take care of a baby either the way I am rn. I think I'd lose it lol. But my instincts were telling me the situation was weird in general, so I backed out as soon as possible. Idk, I just feel like that didn't sound like someone who doesn't need a lot of support. I feel kinda bad tho

I think what makes Forums! Silence so funny is that she's introduced/shown as the sort of "straight man" in a comedy act and you think she's gonna stay that way but then she turns around and does or says something 10x more ridiculous than what's going on

Idk I've never felt like she's totally the straight man other than at first impression. For me she always feels so funny because she thinks she's the straight man but she is absolutely not, she can be more over the top than any of the idiots around her

I always imagined that back on the OG forums, Hitan had to keep telling Silence to put her sword away/sheathe it (she always had it out and unsheathed 'cause she thought she'd be safer this way. A.K.A. she was threatened by everything. A.K.A. trauma, and also A.K.A. she never really received ample training with weapons and stuff, she was kinda just...sent after forum!Echo lol), so now karma has come around and she has to tell him to stop doing knife tricks because it's lowkey terrifying (knife tricks are kinda like. automatically engrained in his hardware in most every universe, it's kinda funny)

Hitan was 14 but he has that teacher ~~smart aleck~~ vibe to him no matter the age. Added to the chibification when they first met, and he probably seemed older

I swear she had blue eyes bro am I tweaking, the color is turning more aquamarine each time I look at it
