Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I like how writing and art are both two things I clearly really love doing, but also when I'm actually doing them I'm always like "Ok you [ambiguous] can just kill me now"

Do not actually kill me, I want to live. But yeah lol the ultra pessimist surfaces

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Answering an old question I posed on how Raez would react to Bartholomew (the answer is much simpler than I made it seem like to myself)

It depends on how Bartholomew would act toward him. If Bartholomew is cordial, Raez remains professional. If Bartholomew jokes about it once in a while, Raez will go along with it a few times without issue. If Bartholomew does step over a boundary somehow, Raez will just warn him.
Now, if Bartholomew keeps stepping over boundaries after said warnings, then Raez isn't above using force. I mean, he's a pirate lol. It's kinda like pirate policy--there are rules, and there are times where it's a contest of strength.

Ngl this feels like a cool fight. Bartholomew vs. Raez. they have such different fighting styles ngl it's funny

The funnier thing is actually 'cause this is such a parenting style of interaction now that I read what I wrote. So very Raez-like. Very funny.

But anyways, I feel like Raez isn't Bartholomew's type (evidence? none, except to preserve my sanity), and instead they might be sorta pals who don't really hang out all that much (Bartholomew is a bit too open about his tastes all the time for Raez to like hanging out with him a lot). Acquaintances basically. Raez scrunches his brows together and makes a face every 5th time Bartholomew makes one of his attempts. Or he drinks his tea (does Raez like tea? He doesn't mind it, probably not on his list of favorite beverages tho. Rai's the Asian one. Wiley prefers milk tea)

Now the new question is, how long could Raez go while keeping Bartholomew occupied and redirected enough to not joke about bangs.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Obligatory gacha update
4 5-stars (one of which was Fang Alter!) and 1 6-star (Penance)

The rest of the rolls will be whatever I can pick up xD hoping for Logos but don't have my hopes up since it's a split rate-up between him and Wisadel

Btw I really wanted Penance when she was on rate-up during Texas Alter's event, so...Arknights is really just a belated wishlist granter huh (same thing happened with Greythroat and Ebenholz if you remember)
I'm definitely not complaining, tbh when I thought I had a bad feeling that meant I'd get only one 5-star from pity

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I got Fang Alter again lol. Also got Morgan from 2 tickets. I guess I was going for a mage...wrong game though.

Anyways came across a video of The Witch's House and as you would expect, I kinda just speedran the story. (spoilers for it and a certain other series)

I think really the only solace I get is the fact that there is no way Ellen (as Viola) will be able to find actual love even after the body swap. I mean, you can't receive love in its full form if you don't even understand it, and not only does she not understand it, she's twisted it to some ugly distortion. But the unfortunate thing is that she'll probably end up taking some people with her even as she goes down, assuming she really is now just a normal mortal. And maybe at the end, her unshown twisted ending will just be her soul (or whatever's left of it after her witchification) being eaten by the demon as well. It would at least be fair for her and Viola to share a fate in some sort of way.
A big part of me thinking she'll undo her own efforts is because now she's dealing with humans on the same level. Sure, she has thousands of years of experience, but she relied heavily on magic. Now she has to deal with adults who have experience in life and can see her flaws. Plus, Viola's father might have killed his own kid on the moment, but I can't see him being won over by whatever facade Ellen will put up. Maybe it'll be something as simple as him drifting apart from his "daughter," or something more confrontational, but I think even if there's a temporary tragedy where his life is lost in the process, the rest of the humans will get Ellen eventually.
...now, how retribution would get the demons and such is a whole 'nother topic that I am slightly avoiding because...there is no answer. But I do feel like as unfortunate as Ellen is, she's definitely crossed the unredeemable line, whether by the corruption caused by the demon's nudgings or just the line she started at with her parents (one of them utterly neglectful, the other so overwhelmed that she'd choose abandonment of both her husband and child over an actual solution).

But anyways, she's a very interesting character. Got me invested in all the nuances of it even though it's just been a day. She's simplistic, but still there's stuff to analyse, which I appreciate. Poor, poor Viola. She reminded me of Sayaka.
And yes, the game reminds me of PMMM. I mean, similar concepts are there. Magic, despair, witches, friendship. Viola reminds me so much of Sayaka probably because of the "friend of an untreatably sick person" role they fill, and how even while she's enduring unbearable pain, she's thinking of the things she might have done wrong. In truth, whatever repulsion she might have felt from Viola's looks were just basic human flaws and instincts engrained in the mind, or developed out of habit. In the end, she was still a very good person and friend, and it hecking sucks how she was taken advantage of.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Also some very unvaluable preliminary thoughts on PMMM: Walpurgisnacht Rising

I can see why people maybe dislike Homura, but I think her actions are understandable, and I'm hoping she gets cut a bit of a break somehow in this upcoming movie.
And no, I don't think Madoka would abandon her. First, it's Madoka we're talking about. Second, Homura has done so so much for her, it just wouldn't make sense for a "greater good" sort of thing. Even speaking thematically, PMMM (the original series) ends on the note of Madoka enduring being changed from a person to an abstract concept/the Law of Cycles, all so that so many girls can believe in hope again rather than die in despair. Plus as a person, Madoka goes absolute lengths for her friends even if they don't "do much for her"--because that's who she is. So there's no way. I believe in the fluffy pink-dressed magical girl who isn't the smartest but still finds her own way to navigate the world. And yes, Madoka is my favorite, why do you ask. (actually, I kinda just love the entirety of the Holy Quintet, and Another Story helped me understand Mami now too so I'm on the lookout for any new material on her as well)

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Bought Hot Pockets again because I haven't had them in...10 years? (horrible guesstimate I think but oh well)
I'm not too sure if they got worse or younger me overrated them, or this particular box isn't as good as what I remember (a likely possibility given that they were on sale lol, even though the "best by" date is pretty far [a year away]), but ehh. They're not bad for sure, but not worth spending $1+ each even on discount. Never again, unless I have no other option. Or unless another 10 years passes and I have nostalgia again.
Btw the sodium concentration is crazy lol it gets me hydrated real fast

Arknights--I am skipping the story for chapter 14 and am on 14-21.
I don't feel good about an E2.40 level recommendation lol, but maybe I'm just tired? I did a lot of levels today. My strategy part of my brain was pretty on point today.
Logos and Wis'adel are ridiculously OP confirmed. Not that I needed to, but some levels have them there by default, probably to match the "finish chapter 1" temporary recommendation.

I haven't even fought Patriot in his actual chapter yet, but the old man came out to say hello in advance. I fear--not that much gameplay-wise, but mostly morally 'cause I feel bad.
Also idk what it is about the vampire king that makes me bust out laughing every time I see him. His sprite, his avatar, everything about him is so funny and idk why.

Greythroat's module story got me the other day btw :') the fact she dreamt of Frostnova being an operator was kinda a punch in the gut, not only 'cause of what actually happened at the end of Partial Necrosis but also because for some reason, I didn't expect Greythroat to remember Frostnova that vividly. Narratively it would make sense that Frostnova and Amiya both symbolize the Infected who Greythroat keeps fighting on for despite her fear, but idk, maybe it's 'cause Greythroat mostly watched rather than saying anything that I didn't expect it.
I like Greythroat btw. I'm not too sure if she's popular in the fandom itself, but I fell in love with her 2nd skill/gameplay on a certain team-preset level, and then I eventually got her and was so happy about it. I specialized her 2nd skill today (in the process of specializing Zuo Le's 3rd skill as we speak). Character-wise I think her phobia of Infection/the "Infected" (to an extent) is also justifiable. People IRL are racist over much smaller things, like just seeing a lot of negative news or simply just being afraid of differences. For Greythroat, she literally lost both of her parents by proxy to the Infected's actions (her father died in circumstances surrounding a riot; her mother basically gave her up for adoption to Rhodes Island and then disappeared), so it makes sense she has a sort of stigma toward them.
Btw I think my Rhodes Island operator list might get bigger than the Heroic Spirit cast I keep in my Chaldea at some point, since in RI you can't reject operators. You just leave them at level 1. Which is good for Base purposes ngl, newbie me would definitely reject too many operators with useful Base skills.
Anyways I need to promote Kirara/Mr. Nothing still. I can't remember many other operators who need to get E1ed. The E2 list is long though, starting with Amiya so that I don't forget her. And then ig I'll just keep on looking at what resources I can acquire/build in the Workshop more easily and farm as I go.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Not sure if I'm tweaking or not but (minor Arknights observation)

Does Wis'adel use "atashi" instead of "watashi"?
Context: I've heard before that "atashi" is usually used by Japanese kids. So that's sorta like a nod to how even though she's a very experienced mercenary, she hasn't really experienced much of life, and hasn't figured out herself as a person. I've mentioned this in another comment too, but I do feel like her attire (which Time isn't a big fan of) is also a testament to this. She's basically in her early teen years, trying out different clothes and being excited over getting a name of her own, which is pretty cute I think.
Btw Darknights Memoir wasn't written as bad as I thought it'd be. Pretty decent actually.

In other news, I also got Potential 3 Fang Alter, and just need to finish some missions to get the welfare's potentials up. Got through all the gameplay modes, with some pain in between (mostly emotional despite skipping story) but hey.
Rate up is working, but apparently I need to make a catalyst or something lol (Arknights "AU" getting closer to existing but also not because I don't know enough lore for this) (quotation marks are because I'd just insert the characters into the main verse, why the heck not)

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Finished the Hidden Front missions. Just waiting on the remaining two missions to open to finish leveling the potentials of the welfare (I am being vague on purpose)

Also Pot 4 Fang Alter and a 6 star...guess who.

It was Mountain (ikr)

I feel like this is luck on point, I mean c'mon, it's a 2% chance of a 6 star, and the chance of it being Logos or Wis'adel is apparently 30%. But instead I get Penance and Mountain (one of the few actual furries in the game btw...noting this 'cause I legit thought there would be more).
The Guard chip depletion never stops.

I think the game is really just waiting for me to make the actual catalyst lol. It's saying "stop being lazy"...but in my defense, my stylus has decided to stop working effective yesterday, and I've been trying to fix it to no avail. Basically the nib has gotten too loose for strokes to be registered smoothly like before. I legit do not know why this happened, since it's not like I'm rough on it or dropped it on the ground or something. But anyways yeah, now I have to use the other end, and hopefully my mind can come up with some kinda fix or something (I refuse to actually change the nib lol it's only been 4 months)

I'm sorry Logos but your catalyst is going to be more of a demonstration of how I cannot foreshorten than it is a catalyst for you

Me when I can't do something after not practicing it: (*confusion*)

Btw violin is going along well. At least, it's not sounding as scratchy anymore lol. But my hands are both weaker 'cause it's been a while since I used them in this way. I'm so used to just gripping things with force
Also writing and drawing are both below average rn. I'm gonna guess this year my art is just gonna peak at drawing Raez with a pumpkin
