I just cooked something so atrocious I had to break open my ice cream reserves and start eating it immediately

 

that's the part that's even worse, it was supposed to be a one of those easy heat-up meals

Like I thought it would be a good idea to try and pan fry it because we didn't have the conventional oven set up yet (in the apartment for college).

But the thing is about the stove is that it's always super freaking hot, and I'm still trying to get used to it and understand how hot I need it to be to cook things. The stove at my home is old and has trouble getting hot, so it's been a learning experience.

I ended up getting a sandwich-thingy that had like a burned exterior/bread, and completely cold interior, which tasted awful.

I ended up cooking two, and one of them was ok and somewhat uniformly heated, but the other was that said cold interior, burned exterior.

I just thought, Idgaf anymore, I'm just going to just heat the middle with the microwave. And I did. And a good part of the interiror is cheese so it just melted everywhere (I should have expected that)

As I took bites, I realized that the food I was eating was very very sweet. Which was weird because I was expecting something more salty and savory because it was like, cheese and stuff as I mentioned. So I decided to take some salt and sprinkle it on to help with taste and balance out all that sweetness. But I think I sprinkled on too much salt, because two bites into the new concoction and I was cringing at the taste.

It was so bad I as soon as I was finished with the meal (because I have trained myself not to waste food, for better or for worse), I just had to override the taste in my mouth with something else with something complex and flavorful, and that was the ice cream in the fridge

I am very thankful to my past self when I bought that ice cream. That I thought to myself, "Why not I'll save it for a special occasion". I usually don't like such purely unhealthy foods in my fridge, but this was the one exception.

I just watched the film adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's "Look Back" and I gotta say

that was PEAK fiction.

Even though peak fiction probably nowadays (to me at least) encompasses stories that are at minimum an 8/10, it was still PEAK.

I naturally have my own criticisms and critiques, but I think I best would put it this way:

When I read the original story, and I liked it, then I watched the adaptation, I loved it. Everything was amplified by the film.
