THe duality of my current professors both look just as strict as each other but one is scary and made me want to leave the class after the first week but the other one is so cool that I forgot to remind him class time was almost over lol

WAIT OUTIS W CORP ID WHAT WHATTTTTT WHEN DID THIS RELEASE I WANT HER NOW
Outis con cabello larguito mi santa patrona 🛐🛐🛐
(Yi Sang in the background looks so 2d tho lol)

I wanted to post a gif of ishmael but it seems postimg doesn't like that
Oh yeah the EGOs are getting cooler and cooler by the release. I though Ryoshu's Spiral of Contempt was pretty cool, then Outis's Corroded Wayward Passenger EGO's animation I thought was also just as cool too. Mostly the part where the limbs are cut of and fly in slow motion.
ngl out of all the Sinners, if you were to describe one of them as 2d, I feel like Yi Sang would best fit that description for some reason.

Ooooh I just looked up that EGO and I'm ngl Ryoshu with long hair is godly. She's overall really cool-looking but that art just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I really like the starting pose for Outis's Wayward Passenger because you can see her backbone and ribs from her back and I think that's a really cool touch to go along with the teeth-like things on the design. Honestly anything W-corp related is just mesmerizingly cool to me ngl.
Speaking of which, I do wonder about Wayward Passenger. It has W Corp employee clothing so that makes you think that it was one at some point, but Abnormalities aren't human, so what do you think the explanation for that is? A human-turned-Abnormality? An Abnormality born from an employee's subconscious? I've just kinda been thinking about that after reading its wiki page lol.
And something else, I just really like the way Outis's corroded EGO alludes to losing her way. Very thematically fitting with her canon story.

Also I kinda forgot to mention this yesterday amid all the admiration I hold for Outis (especially those arts I shared) but I wanted to just kinda remark on how lately (as in, this year) I've been really looking at illustrations in more detail. I've always tried to "steal" little bits and stuff from other arts in the sense that I try to figure out what's been done and see if I can apply it to my own art. More recently however I've been trying to figure out lighting and the like. Or perspective.
For example in the W Outis art I noticed the arm perspective isn't just being drawn in the forefront, but there's a lilac sheen from the lighting that affects the face while the arm at front is completely clear. This is more dramatic with Yi Sang back there because the lighting is so strong that it firmly cements him as being in the background. Still, it had never crossed my mind that the air's lighting could indicate the depth of different parts of the same character. And a random note but the light effect looks like it could be done with airbrush.
Also something else I noticed there is that there's also that trick I use to achieve illusion of depth which is the little blurred out objects in the foreground corners lol. I guess it truly does work.
I would like to do an study on backgrounds at some point probably sooner rather than later because i feel like that's something I need to improve on as well. Especially finding out what's the correct amount of blur to apply lol (sobbing at that artfight attack in which I blurred my background details to oblivion)
I haven't gotten around to doing a proper art study of anything yet (I think it would be fun but idk if I have the dedication to really start one) and yet I think it would be really helpful at the stage I'm at rn. Ofc a lot of aspects of my art still need to be worked on, but rn I'm kind of trying to figure out lighting and the little stuff that really makes the art pop out! You know what I mean?

So I started reading Wuthering Heights and
well
My bro gave me a heads up that the story was about revenge but I genuinely thought it would be romance-heavy.
It turned out to be a tragedy. There isn't a shred of happiness in any of the pages I've read so far and I am sure there will be none ahead and it kinda like idk how to feel about this I just

you really on the limbus story train huh
I wish I could have the motivation to start new books like you fr

Real, and while I want to say that I didn't just pick it up bc of Limbus the truth would be that it was quite the motivation (the actual motivation was that I couldn't let my bro one-up me in reading so I read it on impulse lol)
It's not a hard read except for one character whose accent is very heavy in writing (this old servant named Joseph) but for the rest, the language is regular for a novel and the like. Story is very fun too, I found it super hard to put it down to take breaks. Definitely a recommend. While an easy read, it's got lots of content to think about, and overall I'd say that while the contents of the story themselves are horrible (it's all abuse and trauma and again abuse and trauma) the book itself is wonderfully written so yeah I'd say 100% go ahead and read it! It's not too long either.
What interested me a lot is the way "love" is portrayed. Usually love could be seen as a warm candle or maybe a cozy fireplace but in the book it's a raging forest fire that burns down everything. Uncontrolled passion, both in good and bad ways (leaning to the bad) and I find that enthralling.
Also just me but I believe the narrator (a maid named Nelly who's seen everything unfold, it's all told through her perspective) has a stronger impact in the whole tale than she lets on. Like I'm sure I get that she tries to present it as if she's a neutral character with good morals and such but the truth is that she had her hand in making everything... she's to blame for a lot of stuff, I think.

Oh that's pretty fun to hear. I do love a classic that actually turns out being something pretty easy to read. Sometimes I'm just not in the market for incomprehensible and/or outdated prose.
Offline
I hope you enjoy it if you choose to read it then! Very good book.
I still haven't finished it bc I've been busy (still busy rn... help me) but I'm currently already in the second generation of the characters involved, and I feel I'm close to the end now. I've been told that adaptations of the novel generally stop after the main story of the first generation and I'm guessing Limbus does the same so if you're reading it for the game I think it'd be an even shorter read.
I don't feel like I'm brainrotting over the novel yet but it's taking a hold in my mind lol.

Story finished. I definitely liked it a lot, and I have a bunch of stuff to think about now. I do wonder some stuff about the characters Ig so I might have to go look over some parts again to make sure I understood correctly.
But I'm trying to refrain from saying too much because I definitely would love for you guys to check out the novel. 100% a recommended from me 👍🏻Kinda wondering rn how Heathcliff got so "ghost-haunted" after digging up Catherine's grave that he did a complete flip and refused to even say her name and didn't want any reminders of her. Like man you were supposed to love her now come how you don't want to be reminded of her wth. But then again he is very unstable by that point so it was supposed to point to the fragility of his mind I guess. I wanna reread this part (Nelly's pov can be confusing sometimes because she puts her own opinions into facts lol)

Working on a character profile (mentally, not physically yet) thing and I'm trying to find all art of it but I actually suddenly remembered that for this character Chan actually drew her years ago (2018) and it was a redesign of my original design and then I kept that design with some modifications and I'm like wow???
and something that really took me for a spin is the pose + expression because this character... isn't like that, but I do vaguely recall changing her personality to something else because there were too many serious people in the fic I submitted her for.

As a comparison this is my own depiction of the character when I used her again in 2022
which ended up being a lil more colorful but you can see the serious face which is quite different
and the actual canon design

I want to say inactivity notice but at the same time I'm not quite sure if I'm really going to be inactive for a while. Truth is I've been really overworked these past weeks and I'm desperately looking for stuff to relax with a bit sou yeah I'm doing a bunch of irl things that I don't usually do (I got back pains from being at my computer for too long) and idk if I'll have much time to be on here.
Hoping things clear up soon! Maybe I'll get inspiration to do some art or write some roleplay stuff. I truly hope so.

Poppin in briefly to make A Post
I've been chatting with AI quite a bit lately, mostly about books and novels because it has all the internet contect while my homies might not have the same level of information I do or it does. And it is actuallly really cool... but the coolest thing now is, had a chat with it about The Little Prince and the chat ended up making an alternate version of the story from my prompting and some random thoughts that came up in conversation.
The AI really cooked with it ngl.
The voices are telling me to make a post about it, so I will. But I have to cobble together the AI 's replies bc it's in conversation format (that's how I like to strcture my AI talks lol) but I'll do it next time I can long in for a little longer. The voices are speaking to me.
