Yesterday I randomly remembered that Echo actually does know F/DA Rider, kinda, and I had a lil bit of a crisis 'cause I remember nothing about that hecking SA RP. Like I know it happened but...what happened??
I blame memory overlap (I joined the SAMB through my first RP, which was also SA-centred, so my mind prioritises the first one)
Hopefully this isn't 'cause what I did was so cringe that I blocked the memories lol.

The problem is that I forgot which character is Rider

Dongfang Yuechu is lowkey giving me whiplash 'cause his voice actor is the same as Wei Wuxian's and you can clearly hear it, so it really is just straight and sillier Wei Wuxian

So far, my comments--
-They got better at melding the dialogue from the manhua into the donghua. It's not perfect, but I appreciate the effort
-I think I'd enjoy this as a little kid lol
-The voice acting and animation are pretty good, though there are some wonky bits for the animation where the voices don't match up or the keyframes are a bit too clear. But you can see a lot of improvement from the concept trailer
-On the part of the voice acting, I do really like how it doesn't seem too stretched this time. The last season's was way too over-dramaticised. Though I do know that Dongfang Yuechu's VA is a professional and he has actual roles in this season, so he's probably holding it up quite a bit (plus iirc he's the VA director lol). I also do enjoy lil Yaya's performance. She's not too obnoxious and I imagine that's kinda a hard task
-SCENERY IS AMAZING, a bit disjointed from the character art style but I'm not expecting semi-realistic animation lol.
-They added more fight scenes which I think is great. Not every one is as well choreographed but I think they get the point across and give something to look forward to
-OST is a bit generic and I don't hear anything that really pops out, but the inclusion of a certain past ED is horrifically on point
-Actually I think they put everything into the OP and ED lol the current ED is my absolute favorite (though I'm not completely used to the short version's visuals, I get why they're the way they are)
-Pretty good overall. At least I'm watching is what I'll say, but I still do believe in manhua supremacy so far (gotta remember all the hecking complaining going on while the manhua chapters were coming out. Idk what they were on)

Episode 7 really just pwned me
-Galaxian-The contrast with what Dongfang Yuechu imagined Honghong's reaction to be to his eventual return (a single tear while she blushes and smiles next to the Tree) to what would be the truth (his death while she cries, their plans of 50 years nearly having been reduced to nothing by the work of the black foxes) JIOFJSDO also the scenery can kill me

I think they sometimes forgot that they didn't include some details in the manhua/switched chronology around a bit lol

I think from a worldbuilding perspective this arc is absolutely gold (talking about both the manhua and donghua now)
-Galaxian-Before this arc we see a lot of the ugliness of humanity, with the humans enslaving the spirits, using them as experiments, and even preying upon their own kind (Dongfang Yuechu's entire past is uhhh a very good indication of all this).
But in this arc, we can see the budding hope of a city where humans and spirits get along in harmony, where the newest generation of Daoist practitioners are open-minded and see the world in an even broader perspective than their predecessors (who were doubting the status quo as well). We see humans banding behind Dongfang Yuechu even though he's a practitioner of spirit arts, because his ability and talent and vision are more than what prejudices should cover.
Of course, we also continue to see the darker side of things, with the fact that resentment is built up through what seems to be the most romantic premise (of being able to meet your love in the next life as well). We see Honghong's vulnerabilities more, in how insecure she feels after being abandoned by her surrogate mother and how she feels like she will never be able to overcome her prejudices and be good enough for the human boy who never leaves her heart. But this arc gives Bai Yuechu a better look at who Dongfang Yuechu is, and how different the world was 500 years ago compared to his expectations. Unlike the Jinchenxi arc, where "dreams and various hopes all disappear into thin air," he's given a reason to hope and to try to pave a road for himself moving forward. It's really nice imo, since even if Bai Yuechu's development is not the absolute strongest point in terms of how it's executed, I think the idea is really great and unique in its own way.
Anyways I am very normal about both Bai Yuechu and Dongfang Yuechu and what they have had to deal with, so I'm making it clearer how much I like Dongfang Yuechu. I prefer his latest reincarnation because he's very interesting, but without Dongfang Yuechu there would be no Bai Yuechu and both of them deserve so much happiness.
From a character perspective btw I love how this arc elucidates Dongfang Yuechu's flaws too. He doesn't really find happiness in the little things he's doing. Even though he makes genius theories and works so hard, he really just wants to return to Tushan and reunite with Honghong. At heart he is kinda a lazy bum who just wants to eat and drink with his friends at Tushan (hence why his reincarnations tend to be food-centred and silly, the exception being Pingqiu Yuechu I suppose). Also, he needed a lot of time to think through what he needed to do and what love really means to him. I love him a lot all hail the cockroach man
Realising that he's pretty much very smart guy who doesn't want to go through school but does it so he can impress his crush lol

Ok we're back to having a time with emotions again.
Oh man oh man this is not fun at all.
I don't really get it 'cause I've been getting exercise and eating the right stuff and drinking enough water, but also I do kinda get it since I'm stuck in a rut for drawing and writing at the same time (I mean there's probably a loop going on between these things and the emotions but I digress). Idk I just feel really bad, but at least it's bad in a normal sort of way I suppose.
Unfortunately I don't think keeping off of the forums will help me so you guys get to see me around lol (I might then forget to login for a week, hopefully not)
It's not really accurate to say that I forget, just that I put it off/procrastinate for some obstinate and obsolete reason.
but yeah on the writing I think my confidence wore off. For the art part it's a skill issue again (and I am really bad at solving skill issues through the most obvious and actual solution: Getting Better)

Reverse character development ig. Honestly I'd prefer the regression go further. 2018 me was utter cringe but at least very good-intentioned. 2021 me was cynical and snappy for very little reason. Honestly paranoia beats being constantly frustrated any day

Love how the stuff in Arknights scares me more than Limbus Company ever will
I love the collab character art btw. And I like the characters themselves enough to roll a few times. I used the free multi to get Doc, who is a very handsome gentleman (also he's a doctor lol what can I say). His gameplay looks real interesting to test out. I have a Guard biasImagine getting isekaied to a world with Terran politics :')
it's just as bad as Earth's lol that's the horrifying part. Like bruh I didn't come to fiction to see reality again

I was gonna paste Doc's in-game art here but you guys can Google it.
I hecking love the costume design and face rendering (well rendering in general). Bro would be so handsome in real life, and that's coming from someone who hasn't really seen any handsome guys IRL.
He's kinda silly too.
Now c'mon, at least another one of his friends needs to come, I don't like people being lonely.

Heck yeah! Algerian-French doctor and Uzbek armoured guy! (both of them are Guards lol my Guard chips are crying for help)
hopefully Uzbek is right
Also both of them are just English dubbed 'cause I'm guessing that's the way they speak in their origin series, and that took me for a spin since I have Chinese dub on

Btw I am not exaggerating when I say I have chip issues. I have 16 levelled Guards
Compare that to the 9 Vanguards lol
(The rest of the list: 9 Defenders, 15 Snipers, 8 Casters, 5 Medics, 3 Supporters, 5 current Specialists [I would have a problem if not for the fact I don't dedicate enough time/resources to all of the ones I have])
Yeah you can see the Sniper and Guard stuff going on.
Also don't underestimate the bias behind those 9 Defenders. 4 out of the 9 are at least E1.65, which is more than the other classes even though I seldom need all 4 of them on the field. Defenders are the backbones of my teams

Finished the event main story!
Anyways I really hecking loved it. F/GO doesn't do collaborations (yet?) with any works that aren't set in the Fate multiverse, so technically this is my first cross-world collab story. And I really liked it. I mean, it's the typical Arknights event of stuff goes to crap within 8 stages (plus some story stages in between but I digress), but I really loved the cast and the art, ironically on the last part in a very good way. Btw, I don't have anything against an event being like that. I mean, F/GO events are usually just "Oh no there's another Singularity!!" There has to be some kind of common premise.Mateo you clown lmiaooo

Fuze: Wait so before I came here you were using (*looks at Popukar*) a child
Me: technically I never use AOE guards
Fuze: She's Elite 1 level 50
Me: Yeah but not Elite 1 level 55, like the people I actually use
I don't actually know if he'd have much of an issue with child soldiers 'cause I still know nothing about his origin material. But it's funny to imagine him wanting to have someone to ask questions to or a guide or something to his new role and me being like "well technically we have Popukar"

Limbus characters need to learn not to talk about the future
The instant you do that, you get 3 automatic death flags stuck on the back of your head. Don't tempt fate guys
Anyways similarly I was gonna say that I haven't lost a battle yet
I also redownloaded COTL and Arcaea, and then undownloaded Arcaea because song progress apparently doesn't carry across devices. What the heck.well except for the tutorial but oh well. I'll just hope it's a canon event. I'm pretty sure it is.
-Galaxian-Today's my third day, technically second since I started at an unholy hour. I'm on Canto III. I don't know what that means, but I'll probably slow down a bit and actually farm levels for the characters.
Speaking of farming, the biggest complaint I'm having so far is the lack of tutorials (there wasn't even a note saying where to farm EXP and how to use EXP tickets, either that or I'm stupid and forgot), and I do think this is me coming from Arknights, which does pretty well with its tutorials. But in general it seems to be a bit of a struggle, including with combat. So far, Limbus Company's combat system is reminding me of SSA (Awakening btw, SS Awakening basically but now I'm reading it as side-side-angle, cursed). Lots of reading, needing to know debuffs. But also needing to know the card sets is probably kinda like F/GO's card shuffling system.
Of course I understand that maybe they want to fit in tutorials later in a creative way and don't currently have the assets, but I'll definitely complain about this more anyways once I refuse to watch others do gameplay and start sucking at it. So far things have been fine.
Story-wise I try to give every game some time to develop. I'll say it definitely isn't shabby. I mean, I read it. But I do think that maybe to try to retain the fanbase, they develop the cast relationships a bit too much compared to the actual chronology of the events. And again just pwn me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure everything is happening in quick succession? But probably to make the team more cohesive and the characters more likeable, it feels like everyone gets used to each other pretty fast. Or maybe that's just the nature of some of the Sinners. I do wonder if the Sinners (and Vergilius) are all secretly really sympathetic people and that's why the development is speed-tracked, but I dunno for now, so I'll put a question mark for now.
This is feeling a lot like a big complaint, so I'll say that I enjoy the abruptness of everything. In F/GO the team tends to really act by the player's orders instead of individual team members going off on their own, and in Limbus it's pretty much the opposite, with Dante kinda just not having control over the situation whatsoever and being disrespected all over the place. The extremes are kinda interesting. Also, I like the humour. Even if it's not exactly my style, I enjoy it. Don Quixote probably has a big role to play in this. She's kinda too loud though.
I like the art. It lends a lot to the atmosphere and there's just so many CGs compared to what I'm used to from F/GO. Stylistically I tend to like the fancy-schmancy styles (I guess it's a Chinese preference since Chinese fanart tends to be in the sort of style I'm referring to), but Limbus Company's gets the job done very well.
Similarly, I like the gameplay visuals too. I love that you have to parry and disarm an opponent before being able to slash them. My personal complaint in this area is that I wish you could slow down the group encounters with multiple enemies where so much is going on at the same time, since it's excellent for setting the atmosphere but is really irking me rn due to the fact that I can't tell what I need to improve on for individual action choices.
The interface is pretty intuitive and I like the design. But in combat I really wish the gears were larger and had their own screen, kinda like F/GO's card selection screen. I also wish the screen wouldn't keep assuming that I want to look at the enemies every time I make a selection, because every time I have to click the gear and switch back to the bigger picture again. So basically, the combat screen is fine (though there's a lot of information), but I wish there were small adjustments. Changes like these would be QoL for me lol
One weird thing Limbus does is that it makes me login every single time I open the game, and never keeps my settings. It's weird. It makes me accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy every single time as well. Kinda weird, but I'm not that impatient.
The cast: I like how different everyone is. Ignore the fact that I pretty much remember nothing about Meursault, but he's gotta secretly be interesting 'cause he's from Camus' work. [joking here, though the joke intends no offence towards Albert Camus]
I also keep confusing Yi Sang with Hong Lu. Ignore how that happens. It's just both of them are East Asian, it has nothing to do with their personalities.
Anyways, Heathcliff needs a chill pill, Faust is a smart-you-know-what, Ishmael is that one tryhard student in the classroom (and this is not meant to be offensive because guess what I also am)...I have a pretty solid impression of everyone other than Meursault, which is pretty funny. But I do think this is the result of the writing doing a good job with such a big cast all being introduced together right off the bat.
@Specter - I'm pretty sure Hong Lu is actually meant to be Hong Lou Meng's Jia Baoyu, but why's his name changed? Idk. But his younger half-brother in the work is his older half-brother here, and idk if that means anything. Also idk why he's Hong Lu rather than Hong Lou (I mean it'd be a weird name but it's weird this way too). Oof moment for him since his soulmate isn't here
And last but not least, the music: I like it a lot, so far my favorite is the music from Canto II in the Ice Castle. I like pretty music. But all of it is pretty nice so far. I was expecting more horror-y stuff, but I guess the piano horror music I'm used to listening to is scarier.
Man oh man I love the ending songs.
My overall experience so far: "Man why is this so funny"

Guessing the English dub is more correct than Japanese trying to make it sound cool (ok but the English pronunciation + Saga/Kanon's names would be very cool)

Thanks for the luck :D
In terms of gameplay/design I really like Faust (and I find her personality funny). White hair blue eyes bias real
In terms of character I like Gregor and maybe Sinclair, I haven't decided yet. Gregor for sure though, I appreciate the guy. Though I admit I have previous bias toward Gregor Samsa.
Overall pretty undecided but I'm pretty sure the Gregor bias is there lol

It's a reference to the game where his ability often can get the hostage you're supposed to rescue killed.
It's basically a breaching charge with a grenade built into it, so you blow a hole into a wall while blowing up everything inside at the same time.

Also hi welcome to limbus
I'd totally agree with you on Cantos I and II, frankly, they're pretty fast paced and you don't get too much out of them. Dante is a pushover bum (idc if they lost their memories), and nobody cares for each other. I found it somewhat frustrating, but the thing is with every chapter, I think the storytelling gets better imo. Every canto they raise the production value, and chip away at any negatives that show itself. That and Dante becomes more based every chapter imo. So if you have any quams with any of the characters, I say that they improve every chance the get in the story.
Canto III is where it picks up imo, yeah. Where I feel you get the "inciting incident" I suppose. I can expand on it more if you feel like it and pass Canto III
On the topic of farming EXP, I'm happy to say Limbus is a pretty casual grind, once you get caught up. I like do only 1 mirror hard dungeon per week with a few EXP ticket Luxcavation runs on the side and that's about all
I too think Faust is silly

Tbh I don't mind Dante being a pushover bum since everything is kinda just the way it is.
I'll be looking forward to the improvements for sure! Idk how clear I made it but I don't necessarily have any qualms with the characters themselves, since I haven't known them very long. But Don Quixote is very loud and impulsive, and Heathcliff is impulsive and very angry, and those qualities don't exactly endear me to them right off the bat. But anyhow, no wonder I saw both of them in one of Heathcliff's IDs, lol there's no way the relationship doesn't develop over time.like idk if I saw people smashing each other's skulls in due to the smallest slight I'd be pretty afraid of getting my clockface smashed in too.
