Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

"It must fit since it was in my bags," Sunny replies to Sollux, whose magecraft is apparently logical fallacies. Also, he does not see, at least not in the way she does.
"An omelette would be good," he agrees absentmindedly. "It has...what is it called again? Protein? Maybe some soup with vegetables would be good too. And some bread, so maybe a sandwich which some more meat in it. For the protein."
...and someone said, 'she likes her suggestions heeded.' Wonder where she got that quality from, HMMM.
Also, sounds like someone forgot which region they're in, this sounds very North America. Specifically America America, he's like one sentence away from suggesting a healthy burger or something.
He's already tying the jacket around his waist. It looks more ridiculous than if he just put it on. Probably.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

"Um, no, soup at breakfast is something for old people." Her tone wasn't rude, yet it certainly dripped with disgust. "For something liquid maybe orange juice! Or tea. Or... would you let me have coffee this once?"

Caster stood in complete silence as Sollux tied the shawl around his neck and shoulders.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Lux's disgusted tone brings Sunny out of his wistful imagination of past and hopefully very-near-future vegetable broths. Yeah. He gives his sister what must be the most deadpan offended look in existence as he replies cautiously, "A bit of tea or coffee is fine, but not too much. Don't get your system used to the caffeine."
He glances at Caster. "Caster, do you like soup?"
Looking for reinforcements now, huh.

"Okay, that's a yes, at least." And she grinned.

At least until Caster decided to speak up. "Vegetable soup is tasty."

Sollux gasped dramatically. "For breakfast? Look, Sunny, it's been less than a day and you're already twisting the little guy's ways!"

He turns his still deadpan expression to her. He's definitely hiding a smug lil smile under there, though. "Is it me twisting his ways within a matter of hours, or is his opinion an indication that you are twisted in yours?"
Sunny 'preciates it, by the way, Caster. Thankees.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

The gasp grew louder, almost as if offended. "Not true, not true! I'm just being a normal girl--kids should like pancakes and yogurts and milk and jam! I'm the rebel of the family, I guess now?"

Caster just kind of stared at Sollux, probably wondering What's a pancake? with that blank look on his face.

"But- but that's fine, yeah," she finally said, relaxing her shoulders down and starting to turn a bit to face the inside of the room. "It's fine if you want soup, just not for me, 'kay?"

The mage glances down to his waist, where the jacket is currently tied. "It's a bit of a tight fit with me already wearing one of my own." Plus he can't leave it here, as there's no knowing if they'll return here again on their way back or if they'll part ways with Sollux before that. He has a suspicion that the latter is both the wiser and likelier possibility.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Although the narrator itches for a timeskip (the easier option, all things considered), Sunny still has something on his mind. He doesn't reveal it at first; he mostly trails along as per usual toward the elevator, where he again messes with the buttons.
Only once the elevator starts moving does he look toward the other. "Caster, I can't help but notice I'm doing a lot of leading you around. Are you sure there isn't anything you would like to do?"
His tone is a bit hesitant. Then again, even these few hours together has likely made it obvious that he isn't the most decisive person to exist either.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

The Servant turns to regard Sunny curiously. Truly, the question caught him unaware: was there anything at all he really wanted to do?
He hmmed in reply, gaze falling as he tried to figure out a good answer. He'd been more or less on autopilot for a while, not acting, just reacting. Of course, the main thing would be "return to the forest", but that most likely wasn't an option with the vague schedule his Master had laid out earlier.
"I don't..." he mumbled a little under his breath. Then, with an added smidge of confidence as his thoughts gathered together, he tried again. "Don't know. I was looking at the people, and the buildings, and the city. I just want to see how the people here live."
Caster tilted his head to the side. His words went slowly, as if unsure of what he was saying. "But... you don't mean that, right?"

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

The mage frowns, which is probably to be taken as him also not knowing what he means.
"I take what you are saying to mean that you wish to observe, but for whatever reason, that feels very passive to me," he says, rather slowly. Meanwhile, the elevator ticks down each floor they pass. "Is that really all you wish to do?"

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

There wasn't anything else to reply. Caster wasn't even sure if there was something in particular that Sunny expected him to say, or perhaps wanted to hear. But even had that been the case he wouldn't have said it if he did not feel it to be true.
So he just stood there in silence for a handful of seconds.
In the end, Caster raised his sight to reply: "I... don't know.... yet."
He made sure to add that last word. It was what lent truth to his statement.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

"I see."
The mage turns his head to stare at the ticking numbers, as if pondering what he should say.
"After today, perhaps you can take the liberty of using the next few days to find your own pace," he says, and then adds, "if that is necessary. I know that you like the place we are based in..."
The door opens. Sunny trails off, though he didn't sense anyone nearby. Indeed, no one is outside waiting, but he leaves it at that. Yet he doesn't step ahead first this time.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

"We go," he confirms, with a slight nod to indicate the other to lead this time.

The cafe's pretty easy to find, so there shouldn't be an issue. Right out the hotel's main doors, back to the particularly bright road from the last night. Mostly it's obvious because Sunny makes it pretty easy to figure out where he's going with the way he peers in the direction of where he remembers the place to be.
It feels pretty safe to cross the roads here. Pretty nice. Sunny just keeps quiet unless Caster wants to say anything, though.
The narrator hopes the other narrator will take up the slack of narrating settings, since they don't really know what a café would look like.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Upon receiving the sign, Caster started his way forward accordingly. He made sure to remain no more than a step and a half away further from Sunny. During the first few moments, his head was turned to the side to keep the mage in his line of sight, but as both fell into pace, the Servant's head dropped slightly to the front. No worries though, his eyes were still fixed on the path around! And the city around, but mostly the way he sensed Sunny wanted to head in.

Soon enough, a particular corner came into view. An inconspicous establishment--in the sense that it did not look out of place--adorned with a moustached muffin right over the entrance and next to the name. The partly open set of double glass doors with a an OPEN sign hanging from the inside led the way into "Don Panquecito" café.
The exterior of the shop, covered with windows, let plenty of light inside as well as the gazes of any passerbys. But there was the promise of a second floor.
Either way, nearing the entrance, a display of multicolored pastries was strategically set behind a glass pane to catch the attention of hungry pedestrians.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Sunny stares first at the mascot, which has a sort of charm to him. Unsurprising, though--he likes cartoons after all, even when he's left flabbergasted at the plot at times.
But you know what he likes more? Actual muffins. He stops and stares at the pastries inside for a good moment. Is he trying to remember if it's culturally appropriate here to eat sweets for breakfast? No, actually, his mental age was left somewhere back in the hotel, or it's just catching up still.
It seems the advertising has met one of its intended targets.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Pastries. Of all shapes and sizes. Little tarts, bigger slices of pie, chocochip muffins, orange muffins, squares of tiramisu, red velvet cupcakes, éclaires, all items equal parts art and sweet temptation. Meticulously picked out colors and swirls of chocolate in patterns that only design appreciators would point out. All of that, a buffet of many choices, a feast for the eyes but the eyes only, as for them to be a feast for the mouth there was the obstacle of little numbers on cards at the side of each item. As much as the customer would enjoy the pastries, so the establishment would enjoy the clients' money.
But, hey. There's bound to be more on the menu. After all, the letters below the café name also read out "restaurant" and "breakfast". Of course there are no rules against having sweet delights during the morning hours, but variety is good to keep in mind.

Someone from the inside, likely a worker, caught a glimpse of the peculiar pair of people outside. Caster felt the gaze and held onto Sunny's sleeve. Yet it was nothing serious, as people cross sights in everyday life.
Still, he'd feel more at ease knowing who's looking at them from that vantage point of the inside. Especially since Caster isn't as enamored with the looks of chocolate and promises of sweet stuff in the display.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

(I think your second paragraph cut off at the end. Just FYI since I think I get the idea lol)

Sunny likes cream puffs. And muffins. And cupcakes. And apple strudels. Now, all the colors and patterns go straight above his head--he's not the designer of the family after all, far from it in fact--but anyways, the look in his eyes is pretty much identical to the one seen when you show a kid a toy they like.
So of course he doesn't seem to notice that he and Caster are getting stared at, but he does eventually come back to his senses. And when it happens, he just remarks, "I didn't think this place would have so many sweets." Like he didn't just stop and stare into the window for 15 seconds.

(I feel a premonition of success for a specific weight loss program...specifically the one for Aisline's wallet)

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

"I'm planning on ordering a few," he admits with a nod. The gesture is probably meant to confirm Caster's observation on the novelty of everything to him.
"Let's go before my sister comes down and never lets me hear the end of it," he adds. He pries his gaze away for the sweets to hone in on the front door.
And presumably, "it" means Sollux getting into the store before the two of them. It's not necessarily illogical, considering Sunny hadn't necessarily been looking at everything in those aforementioned 15 seconds.

Anyways, he walks a bit faster now, and gets the door open without pushing on a door that says pull, or the opposite...unless it has more complicated instructions on it, of course, in which case he'll stop for a few moments to decipher those while trying not to stand in the wrong direction of entry.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Caster made a noise of affirmation and left the matter there. To himself, he knew he'd watch Sunny's reaction before deciding to try the pastries himself.
This time he lingered a second or two just to make sure he could enter the establishment behind Sunny. And as such, deciphering the way of how to enter through a door that is already invitingly ajar falls to his Master.

A warm scent of baked goods greets the customers upon entry. The air is fresh, however, courtesy of the AC up there in that corner that Caster eyed suspiciously for a moment. The area seems to be quite more spacious inside than from the outside. Maybe thanks to the fact that there are few customers at this time. Murmurs of a low conversation between two older women reach the newcomers' ears without enough detail (or context) to figure out their subject of discussion. That pair is closest to the mage and his Servant, though there is also a person engrossed in their tablet sitting a fair few tables away.
As for any other people, no direct greeting from the staff came. Only the young man behind the counter grinned politely as soon as eye contact was made (guess by who). There are more staff, but the waiters aren't near the entrance at the moment. A sort of menu--written in chalk for the aesthetic, yet starting to fade--is displayrd on a board above the counter.
As was visible from earlier, now the staircase to the second floor is full in view. Either there, or the variety of multi-chair tables are expected to be the next destination. It also feels as though the customers are supposed to know what kind of table they want to sit at instead of being led to their spot. Or expected to go to the counter and order their to-go.

Sollux appears to be taking her sweet time in arriving to the café.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Sunny, who seems simultaneously experienced and inexperienced with eating out, looks for the menu. Once he finds it, he takes (mental) notes on the layout of the place. Then his eyes go back up to the menu. Either he reads fast or he already has an idea what's on it.
Let's go to the place that's the furthest from anyone else already sitting down! Apparently that's his train of thought, or something similar to it anyways, since he goes on a beeline to create a triangle with the two older ladies and the person on their tablet. No second floor exploring today...?
The seats and tables of the establishment seem to be made of wood, with cushions on the seats. The chairs and tables are colored slightly differently from each other, though of course, they are still in line with the overall aesthetic of the place. Each table set is spaced somewhat far from other ones, likely for the purpose of privacy and so cafe staff can walk comfortably between them.
Sunny isn't a big fan of having to order immediately. Even though there's the risk of sitting on a seat and wasting a lot of time here in the comfort of all these lovely smells and atmosphere, those aren't exactly thoughts on his mind at the moment.
So maybe Sollux already knows she can take her sweet time, is what the narrator is going for.
Anywho, it looks like Sunny has paused next to a chair at a 3-chair table. He pulls it out and then heads to the other side. The one he yanked out is sort of facing the window. How considerate.
And of course, he'll wait for Caster to be seated first...this is the sort of thing that he's always rambling on about to Sollux, after all.

Re: [F/DA] Sunny did a whoopsie!

Caster follows Sunny in his entry to the establishment, making sure to stay as close as possible just as he has this whole time. Most importantly, he very clearly seems to be hyperaware of the surrounding scents, now finally piecing together that the pastries he saw aren’t just fancy hollow decorations but that some contain delicious bread. And, maybe, he finally understood why Sunny had been staring at them.
You can’t really blame him. It’s the boy’s first time at a café. At least he gets the hint of the chair being pulled out for him to take a seat, which he did, by the way, and instantly scooted forward with it to stay close to the table. His feet don’t quite reach the floor even with his being seated at the very edge of the chair.
He stared at Sunny while the other is taking a seat, then proceeded to rest his chin over crossed arms on top of the table. That posture didn’t last long. The unmistakable sound of rapidly approaching steps from a taller person caused Caster to straighten immediately and turn around.
“Good morning and welcome to Don Panquecito!”
But it wasn’t a threat.
Two menus, neatly opened to the second page, slid onto the table from the hands of a young and smiling waiter. He’d come from another area hidden from the entrance view: the kitchen. Leaning forward with a rather friendly demeanor for a stranger, the waiter pointed his finger at a particular section of the page before putting his hand back into the pocket of his apron.
“We’re out of croissants right now, but take a look at the other breakfast options. Let me know when you two are ready to order!” He was about to leave but stopped himself while turning around and reversed the motion. “Or, if you need anything else too. Just let me know.”
Caster eyed the man (who lingered for a bit next to the table now instead of leaving straight away) and then stared straight at Sunny to see how this would play out.
