Forgot to add Commentary so basically:

With Francis's pose, I tried making it look like he's sorta hugging/holding onto the angel version of himself until you look at his hands, rather than his entire post being stiff/aggressive

Similarly, I wanted the angel's pose to look more passive, and I like how it looks like he's pulling Francis closer (which is the intention lmao).

Also I am glad I centered the subjects rather than keeping them to the left. Composition-wise I just think it looks better

Also I decided on softer lighting, other than it looking better imo, as to make it more subtle and to make the shadows less harsh. I feel like in the original, the detail gets lost in the shadows too much

With the lack of eyes in original, I didn't want to pull too much away from the face and the rosary

I would just mention really quick that the rosary stands out a lot and doesn't fit with the color palette, but idk if that's intentional? Like the rest of it is desaturated and then there's the rosary, so my eyes were immediately drawn to that instead of the something else

if it was intentional i'm super curious about your thought process for it tho

also YES it's very intentional. Originally I actually wasn't going to let the rosary stand out/was going to desaturate the gold but then I was like "actually considering the rosary is a prominent part of what I usually add to the Occult's symbolism, I should make it stand out" and So I Did by using warm/more saturated coloring for it. Because ✨color theory✨ and also I think it just looks cool to have it stand out more compared to the rest of the piece

So ig reasoning is major symbol of the occult and also aesthetics XD
