the other day my family ended up watching the video for Funky Town on the tv (i don't remember how we got there) and I was just sitting there cause I'd never seen it before, mildly terrified, and I said "this is what my dreams look like"

and my dad just looks at me with utter bewilderment and amusement and asks "what kind of dreams are you having???"

and I said "THAT'S WHAT I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT"

no its more like there's a forum all these friends were on (like here, but not here obviously lol) and one by one they've just left on their own because of external things (like college ;-;) that require more time or just they were straight up bullied by other people

so I wasn't connected in either way to why they were leaving and I have their phone numbers but I can't talk to them the same way cause my phone is dumb and half of my conversations would be us sending dumb pictures to each other and I can't do that ):{<

Reminds me of how I lost contact with a lot of my friends when my first online forum shut down 😔
But if you have their phone numbers could you perhaps find a way you can connect with them through another platform like, idk, google chat or skype?

yea I have their phone numbers, I'm looking into other ways to contact them for roleplaying stuff because writing our characters together was something we spent far too much time doing XD

I realized its kind of sad that most of my friends live in my computer, like I love hanging out with you guys and other online friends, its probably what I spent the most time doing but at the same time I will spend hours sitting at my computer just waiting to respond to a message I sent and that's just straight up depressing lol

My irl friends are all off and about rn, and we don't really have a regular meeting place, so I'm just keeping in touch with them via internet. So it's not that different for me right now.

most of my friends I only manage to stay connected to because we have the same violin teacher and do orchestra and its hard for us to get together to do things over the summer because there are five of us :\

I do usually see my best friend every week though its very nice <3 so at least I've got her

Oh believe me, I too don't like meeting people too often. I used to be the most quiet and introverted kid you could meet.

I've kinda tried to reframe my mindset. If I don't like being around strangers --> then lets not make them strangers!

Of course, sometimes people don't like talking with you, and that's fine. As of late I've been trying to be someone that starts more convos. I'm still trying to get fully comfortable with it, but I've been seeing improvements.

Well I don't like being around strangers because they give me anxiety xD makes it hard to want to talk to them when they scare me lol it's a good theory though

I always feel like I'm annoying because I'm almost always the one who suggests activities and starts convos XD what an interesting contrast
