I'm legitimately theorizing that this mod I am trying to find was something that came to me in a dream and I thought it was reality

I've been thinking about stories again, but this has come upon me via video games and their stories, particularly how often the music of video games can reflect the story they are telling, which works in combination with the gameplay and visuals.

I use social media more often nowadays since irl friends and acquaintances use it for communication instead of text or call. I still just lurk and don't post anything though.
I thought I wouldn't like how they know my every move, what I like, who I'm following, but sometimes I do find it nice to see what else my friends have seen when browsing. For example, I like seeing that one of my friends, who is usually one of the more stoic types, likes watching wholesome videos.
But still, my thoughts of how everything is so public on social media is something I don't like too too much. I also wonder about social media etiquette. I think I'm fine in that department, but I always wonder if there's something I don't know of.

I'm trying to think of a power that a character that would have that isn't powerful in raw power output wise but still is cool.

I was thinking of how back in the days people never even thought of traversing the seas, of circumnavigating the worlds. That it would be impossible to do. And nowadays we can do what took them years in just a day or a few.
I wonder if that is also currently true for space and the universe and stuff.

Ok actual question I want ttrpg nerds here or just anyone here to help answer for me.
I wonder if I'm asking too much when I think of a perfect ttrpg/dnd party. My ideal one is this:
- Everyone is good friends with each other (i'm sure this is a default, or eventually is developed)
- Long running/long story
- Everyone playing wants a serious, good, and invested story (but funny jokes are fine here and there)
- On the invested story part: Characters get their story beats. /they aren't just some things that are thrown around. They are characters with arcs and developments that the DM and the player develops on. Like true collaborative storytelling. This goes for characters. Characters are truly unique, story and even ability wise (as in gaining abilities that aren't from the books/planned with lvl ups.)
- On the note of an "invested" story: Everyone does their best to play their role, and the more immersive the better. That's music too!
- Highly difficult, but fair, combat. Stuff that requires a battle plan and discussion to come out victorious.
Icing on the cake traits are (but not required):
- Interconnected universe. Everyone plays in the same universe. There are chances of running into other PCs
- Out of game, we talk about the story and battle plans and stuff. It just shows we really care for the story.
- In this highly difficult combat, maybe even include some homebrew rules for combat too.

Wow, what a nerd I sound like. What a loser.

I do not think you are a loser, I think the fact that you thought this out is extremely cool
...then again I am also a nerd lol

Thank you. I too think I'm not a loser, but I do think people who play ttrpgs and such are usually more outcasted from the popular normal.
But actually though. I wonder if I'm asking too much. Most others that I meet that are into ttrpgs that are around my age:
- Prefer goofy stories (or at least the majority)
- I'm not sure if they actually care about their character in a similar way as me. Like they don't think of a character motivation, or possible character arcs to follow. Same with the DMs. They look to run, but not with extreme detail like I described (which I can understand sometimes).
- They only are usually interested in dnd 5e, prefer steamrolling encounters, and either don't really know or care too much for the rules (which is ok, until they start breaking the game/when rule of cool doesn't apply)
- And honestly, I wouldn't hang out with them. My personality and their personalities in general I think don't clash well at all. Humor, loudness, social skills/awareness, nearly everything. I know the last example was lowkey a diss but I guess a better word is... social temperament?
It feels like everything that I want is the opposite of what I currently have around me. It makes me wonder if I'm asking for too much. I'm going to search nonetheless, but I wonder how I'm going to do it.
