yeah the things I thought of weren't the most epic.
Not like, mentally I'm chilling mentally, just thinking.

How dare I indeed

Bro.
My laptop crashed again and I had to reboot all the stuff.
Screw this laptop. I lost all my work. Not just all my art and everything, but literally all the programs and whatever I have.
This laptop has done like, not one single good thing. In the first few months I had a big hardware issue I had to go get repaired. Then after that it crashed the first time, but I was lucky enough to restore a few things, and I was smart enough to do a backup, but still. And throughout all of it I had to deal with annoying little software issues. It also can't do really anything other than light rendering for 3d artwork (in which it instantly crashes afterwards) and surfing the web
It's literally been like 6 months since I last had to do a reboot, according to my recovery drive. That's wild.
That's stupid. I'm literally going to save up for a better computer, and when I do finally get it, I'm going to like, smash this one to bits out of glee or something.
Ok first world, gen z "oh back in my day we didnt have the cloud or whatever" rant over.

At least I can now get a telltale sign of when I should do another back up

It's no big deal. This is a problem I can definitely handle on my own.

BRO
I wish I could draw conclusions from analysis of things when reading stuff I enjoy. Especially the stuff with the minute little details and multiple layers of characters and stuff that are never shown explicitly but it's a really nice detail if you figure it out. Does that make sense?
I think as of now, if I want to do that. I just need to analyze characters more and just put actual effort into it.
What am I talking about? ofc I'm talking about CSM. What other stories have I talked about recently on here?
I did tell you guys that that I read very few stories, but when I do, I lock on and intend to learn lots of things about it. It just turns out CSM is what I've locked on this time around.
To me, it feels like this one has a lot of little details that are what I just described above. I've seen a few of those details and subtle layers and they're nice finds, but the thing is I've been just looking at internet analysis and stuff. I kinda want to do it myself and draw conclusions.
I feel this spout of ideas is really pointless actually, as I could just limit it to "I want to critically think about stories more" and be done with it, but as I said. It's a spout of ideas.

I heard that if you know how to draw real people and real things realistically, drawing in a more cartoon style just becomes more or less an art exercise for you.
I want to learn how to draw realistically, color realistically, do all that stuff realistically, but I just don't know where to start. Plus I'm going to absolutely hate all that bad art I'm going to produce... but I guess that part comes with the field.

...I draw exclusively cartoony
but in all seriousness it's probably so you can learn movement and anatomy and proportions without worrying about making it look real first

Everyone goes through their journey in art, and sometimes starting realistically works better and sometimes going into stylization works better. For me, since I'm just dipping my toes into realistic art, I can tell it's helped me stylize and find a better workflow for digital painting. But also if I started with realistic art, it definitely wouldn't have helped. Honestly, I'd say just try it, see if it vibes or not. It can definitely help with stylization but only if you already know how to stylize.

Hm. What you both put up is true.
I want to work digitally, and most of my work is already digital, but honestly, I still don't know how to start in integrating realism, or dipping my toes. I guess I can start with just real life objects before anything living.
What softwares do you guys use? I think I need to look for some good pens and pencils. While I'm ok with the ones I currently have, they're kinda the default, and I want something different, something I more fully like

I use Photoshop
but I have heard great things about Procreate and Krita

I use Ibis Paint X

Hmm I use Clip Studio so as far as I'm aware I find think there are universal brushes or whatever to use

Bro imma be honest I have no clue how I am to write intros for my new characters
Offline
intros are quite possibly the hardest threads to write imo
Offline
i find it simple tbh, just write in the person appearing somewhere and wait for the other characters to find them like a cool rock attracting elementary children. alternatively i think you're allowed to just have them show up somewhere with no introduction
Offline
Simple for you, but right now for me, not so much. I kinda want a intro rn thar can appropriately set up my characters
Offline
I just realized there are so many intro threads in the public thread place rn lol

I have decided my next artist journey to improvement: TEXTURES
It's time for Time to tap into textures

I feel bad that I haven't done anything to get in spirit with spooky season
Well, bad isn't the best word. More like, I wanna get spooky with it, but also don't want to at the same time.
It's kinda the same with me and most holidays nowadays.

Sometimes I wish to talk with people about whatever they talk about on their ht but I have no clue about what they are talking about

I feel like I need to watch more dystopia sci fi movies
I like the genre.
Like the ones where there's tall towers and bright neon lights. With mega companies and stuff.

Them intrusive art thoughts are back
I want to get better at art but I'm atm too lazy to put in effort for that stuff
Like do I really want to make an art curriculum for myself??
Maybe If I ever do studies (which the sound of already makes me lazy) I include stuff that I do enjoy like I just do art studies w/characters or smth. Not everything has to be an art piece, Time.

I'm thinking maybe I'm taking steps that are too big to get effective improvements. I think for now I'm gonna go to the very basic of basics. Draw circles and cylinders.

I think I might go be not so active until like the start of Thanksgiving break bc I just wanna focus in on my schoolwork
So sorry people I'm having rps with (@Zane for most of that part lol) and people I'm having convos with
