I doubt the song was made in beepbox, but what you're hearing are 8-bit and/or 16-bit samples. They were used in the early game consoles such as the NES and the SNES. Since samples of real sounds would have taken up far too much space for the console to run, they programmed the console to play certain beeps at certain times to create a song. There weren't even sound files, all of it was programmed directly into the game (which is why in some games such as the original TLoZ the music stops when the game is loading a new section of the map). Nowadays, we have sound files, and we just emulate the noises in music programs. Tracks composed using similar sounds and the style that came from the limitation of only using four tracks, like those early game consoles, is generally referred to as "chiptune."


Tl;dr: it's not Beepbox, it's just a chiptune-style piece
