Quite obscure funnies, that's why. Idk if people would find it funny
Maybe Russet though. He seems to have some similar humor as I

Oh also I'm quite happy I posted some of my art pieces here on the forums bc I don't think I backed them up or uploaded them to the cloud
However I think I did lose all the art of the character I was going to release next for my little team of original characters

This is why we back up our hard drives
Says the one who never backs up her hard drive

Yeah I should do that more often. Yeah.
Last time was like fall of 2020

And that exact reason was how I lost all my recent character files
So yeah remember to back up stuff

Bruh
Character files as in art or like writing/words?
Offline
Writing. For some reason my computer decided to corrupt a single file, which happened to be the file that had all that information
Also, don't keep all your stuff in one document. Yes, it's easier in the moment, but if you divide it up into categories (like GGaD stuff and then a document for OCs) it might be what saves you if you lose one of them.

Oh yeah for sure.
Plus I'm pretty happy I do that with Google docs, so it's saved to the cloud instead of the computer

Update: it turns out that it wasn't the hard drive but actually something going on with windows!? It's weird since all the notifiers were pointing to a busted hard drive...
But that means I was able to get all the stuff I cared for back! Including my CSP files!
I still don't trust my hard drive though. Or my windows either now...

Oh my CSP files are my art files

Anyways I had to practice tolerance this morning
Great tolerance

Oh boy
Would you care to share the need for such tolerance

So my history teacher... he's passionate, and fair. He's also very different from your normal teacher. He doesn't give out tests unless absolutely needed, as a punishment, or if he feels the students don't have enough motivation in them to actually learn. He does not care for specific dates and whatnot, but rather as long as you know the reasoning and the WHY, behind every action. It's usually pretty clear and easy to find the why when it's pointed out a few times. Mostly everything ties together to some central themes within history.
Today, he was debating on giving our class a test. So naturally he does a "check up" on us by randomly selecting a student asking a question or two on a topic. It wasn't really stated, but it was pretty easy to tell. No checking your notebook for notes.
And names were called up, and it was being bombed, people couldn't answer any simple questions. Dropping like fodder in action shows. Couldn't even remember the stuff they learned yesterday.
Luckily every now and then some actually competent people were called on who could actually answer the singular question given to them (including me), so teach didn't fully lose hope. But I really think the ratio of people who could actually develop on the prompts in comparison to the people who got chewed out was either 1:9 to 2:8. I'm serious. Some people couldn't even get the question when the answer was in their face.

WHY WAS CUBA IMPORTANT TO AMERICA?? IT WAS 90 MILES OFF THE COAST OF FLORIDA, NOT BECAUSE IT'S CLOSE TO MEXICO, WHY WOULD THEY CARE IT'S CLOSE TO MEXICO, THE US IS ALREADY CLOSE TO MEXICO. IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MEXICO
Mind that these were honor students too, not your average general students. I would get it if they were general, but not so much on honors. For a moment, I was stuck thinking that AP students might only be the smart people out there (however I don't think that's true. Every class is a mix of "smart" and "stupid" people, just at differing ratios. Depends on the topic too.)
Hey though I saw the ideas that teach put out there while teaching history play in real time lol.

So since we bombed it, we now have a test on monday, I've heard that his tests are pretty hard too. I'm still actually pretty confident because I was could've answered all his questions that he asked. However I'm kinda just more disapointed/frustrated of the students who couldn't answer because they all just collectively shot themselves in the foot
Not only that but I think our failure has led to all the other periods getting a test too, because it's kinda one fails, we all fail type of deal, but with all periods.
But I don't think any of the other periods did any better.

Look, I'm in an AP Lang class and we have people who don't know what theses are (even though we've been over them 3 times), so in comparison, at least your classmates know that Cuba's in North America.
No, actually, strike that. At least they talk. Here the ratio of kids who talk to those who don't is also something like 1:9, usually higher. Last year it was something like 1:40. (Ofc I'm in virtual class still, but if kids are this irresponsible for their own learning,,,)

In all honesty I don't buy it that they don't know what a thesis is. I'm also in AP lang and everyone knows what a thesis is.
Tbh I wouldn't classify Cuba as North America, I would just call it in the Caribbean/Central America. When you think of North America, you think of Canada, U.S., and Mexico.
Of course nobody talks in virtual learning, you can't connect with them. I understand it. It's hard to learn online. Almost all students were there at some point. My school is in person though. Plus the ratio I gave was people knowing the material to some degree vs people who didn't know at all, when randomly called on, not just people who talked. I believe this ratio may inaccurate, since not every single student was called on, so he skipped out on a few people who knew the answers.
Anyways, I have more trouble understanding it, because all you need to do is just write a lecture summary or review your notes for a few minutes at the end of every day and you'll be good. But I don't think I'll call them stupid, rather more so lazy, and shortsighted, but now writing this I don't think I'll fully call them that. I think they just need to get their priorities straight.
Offline
You don't buy it? Attend my class. My teacher makes us write theses as practice. There are 20-something people in the class with 10 or so on the activity, and only 3 out of those 10 actually wrote a thesis. The rest are just parroting the question or doing whatever. I'm not saying I'm good at writing myself, or writing a thesis specifically, but my classmates literally seem like they haven't taken an English class since 5th grade. Good on them for participating, though, I gotta say. 1:3 participation in an activity is pretty good, all things considered.
Though, if you mean that you don't buy it as in you think they're pretending...then wow, they should be actors. Imo, it'd take more effort to pretend what they write is what they write compared to actually just trying. I mean, we only get a little while to write, so it's not that good, but at least the general structure should be there. And, according to the ratio I set there, it ain't. Also, it'd be pretty "short-sighted," as you put it. Why pretend to not know how to write a thesis when it's the only part that a teacher can give live feedback on? Why not try one's hardest? That'd be baffling to me, to say the least.
It's hard to learn online--I can concede that at the very least--but that's no excuse. When the teacher asks for responses, (here I start on impersonal second-person pronouns) you give one once in a while. Or try to give one. You don't leave it to a single student, or two, for an hour. You don't just not talk for the entire time like you only logged on to the meeting and aren't even there. Heck, talk in the chat if you need to. Some of my classes' classmates (weirdly, not the honors/AP ones???) do that, and it's nice because I would also choose to only talk there if I could, at least most of the time. But otherwise there are classes (most of mine) where I'm the only one who ever talks even when prompted, and it isn't that easy for me, either.
Look, if you can't even answer "How are you?", then that's a problem with personal responsibility. Like, maybe you're too shy. But at least indicate that you're actually there. Don't just expect to be counted for attendance.
As for Cuba, it's honestly just my own geographical imagery. Not publically valid by any means.

I don't buy it. That's it. There is no way they don't know what a thesis is.
When I think of those people, I say we need those people, you know? The ones without drive. They'll be our fast food clerks and whatnot, the followers to the leaders. However, I feel wrong about saying it, or what I am saying may be very untrue.

Ok so random question for you all that idk how you would answer
If I did a martial art, which one could you see me doing?

Or if you were doing a martial art, what would you do?

So as I type this out on my phone in bed, I am quite unsatisfied with myself today
Yeah sure I guess I was technically productive by doing the homework I needed to get done, and I even did a little homework that was has a much later due date, but I didn't feel productive. I felt like I just sat around all day.
Yeah I did finish an application for a big extracurricular thing but still I didn't feel productive! Maybe it's because I didn't do all that I could've done for working on extracurriculars. That's probably a part of it.
I think it's probably because that stuff was mostly easy... or maybe it's because I didn't spend as much time on it.
Maybe it's like I didn't work out or anything. That's probably it. I really need to set up an actual schedule, for exercise or join some sort of thing.
Still feeling very unsatisfied.

Ok so I'll be honest. Talking with smart people sometimes makes me want to kick a rock. It happens only with specific smart people.
And no, not angrily kick a rock, more like if you're walking on a trail and you see a small rock, you kick it dryly and give a sigh. But not a big deep sigh, just a small one.
Weird description. Ik. I just couldn't really explain it.
It's a complex feeling.
I'm pretty sure it's a perspectives thing.

I am pondering on things and I usually like pondering

You mean it's frustrating because then you don't feel as smart as you thought
As a not-smart person, I can relate to this
Offline
Also when I'm done pondering I feel annoyed with the stuff I said, like what was I saying?
Anyways, I guess? It's more complex that that I think.
I don't like really thinking I'm at "x level of smart". Because I think a good quality of being smart is understanding that there's things out there that you don't even know about.
Maybe I'll develop my thoughts later but rn I'm in school

Also I'm wondering where Spec is. They've not posted for about a week now... does anyone know?

Probably on Discord.
Jk, lol, I mean, I've seen them on Discord, but I'm not there all the time, so I'm guessing if you haven't seen them there, that means they're offline sometimes, too.
I think you can piece more things together from their homethread. Going to the hospital sometimes, otherwise rarely being able to get on here, stuff like that.

Oh yeah yeah. Just concerned and wondering.
But understandable and stuff with the other things.
I would also assume they're off in a discord trying to keep their characters alive or something lol
