I too have heard of it.

I have seen glimpses and critiques of it. From what I have seen. I believe it is not a good show. The critiques I have watched say that it contains horrible storytelling, worldbuilding, and characters

Yeah that's what I've heard too, that the story's bad, the characters are underdeveloped, the voice acting is bad, it doesn't even really look like an anime, the list goes on xD

Yeah the I heard the animation is nothing to be proud about either. Just fairly decent if not below average.

While to me it seems the show was probably closer to the western style of animation and art style, most fights and other moments in western animation still trump the shows animation.

Yeah, I saw it and I was like "this looks like a Netflix original style, not something that an anime streaming service would make."

The art style gave me She-Ra reboot vibes. Which isn't a bad thing, cause I liked the style, but yeah it's not very "anime"

I'll just copy-paste the thing I wrote so you can read it:

"It's already established in the movie that only Maleficent is more powerful than the Three Good Fairies, who are immortal entities, as they are unable to reverse Maleficent's curse, only alter it.
In the scene where the three fairies are discussing how to protect the princess, Meriwether suggests turning Maleficent into a toad. Fauna then says they can't do that because "our magic can only do good. Things that bring joy and happiness." to which Meriwether responds "That would make me happy."

Fast forward to the end of the movie, when the fairies are helping Prince Philip escape Maleficent's castle, you see that the fairies transform various objects: arrows into flowers, boiling oil into rainbows. However, as they are about to escape, Meriwether turns Maleficent's crow into stone. STONE. She turned a LIVING CREATURE into STONE. She completely overrode the established rule that they can only do good, such as turn bad things into good things that bring joy (flowers, rainbows). It's also reasonable to assume that the fairies are unable, or forbidden in some way, to directly kill or injure living things (thus why Flora and Fauna gave Philip the sword and the shield; they couldn't do any harm, but he can as a mortal), since from the very beginning of the movie they do not ever suggest any violent measures (besides Meriwether)."
