I really wanted to hear the piece played by a real orchestra (because that's how it's intended to be played) and after consulting with my violin teacher, who supported it completely, I asked the orchestra director, who also supported it.
Funny part of this story: When I asked her, I explained that while it's arranged for mainly a string orchestra and a snare drum, it also has a fairly prominent harp section as well, and she looked around the room and said, almost to herself, "I need to find a harp."

It's because we don't have a bass player as part of the orchestra so the conductor found one who was willing to play with us.
She'll play at the concert with us, too.
