I haven't played A Link Between Worlds, but I still know the premise and that makes this funny
The two purple people that look like Link and Zelda are their Lorule counterparts. They're a bit like clones.

As a person who was terrified of Guardians in like the first half of the game I can confirm this is what it feels like

Amaranth is a demon. In my world, demons are supernatural creatures that reside in their own dimension (which I have yet to name). They are not related to or based off of biblical demons. There are a bunch of different subsets, or types, of demons, one of the rarest being dragon demons, Amaranth's type. He is the only existing dragon demon, the first to appear for quite a few years. He has a twin sister named Indigo, a shadow demon.
On Halloween two newborn demons appeared in an empty crib at an orphanage. Nobody left them there, they just...appeared. The staff basically shrugged and said "we'll keep them." After a few months, they got around to naming the two Amaranth and Indigo, probably because of their hair colors.
Amaranth was constantly bullied. Unlike the other children, who's magical skills had awakened, Amaranth showed no signs of any magical abilities. Even Indigo had developed her magic, if not exceptionally so. One night, the two slipped out of the orphanage and began to live on the streets, bouncing from town to town, hoping they'd find a place to sleep or something to eat before night fell.
After two months, the two discovered a young demoness named Allegra de' Cavalieri, a concert pianist, performing in a plaza. Charmed by the two little demons, she agreed to let them stay at her house as long as one of them took piano lessons. Amaranth ended up losing the rock paper scissors match, and thus took piano lessons for the next five years.
The twins were very happy with Allegra. She took care of them, and the longer they stayed with her the more she grew to love them. The twins, too, became more and more attached to Allegra. She was the closest thing they had ever had to a mother. She helped Amaranth with his self-doubt and fear over having no powers, and she helped Indigo open up and act like a child again.
Unfortunately, this was not to last forever.
At the age of twelve, Amaranth had still developed no magical attributes, though at this point, his wings were strong and he had exceptional flying abilities. He was still bullied in school for his lack of magic, but had learned to put up with it.
It did nothing to prepare him for when one classmate began insulting the twins' lack of parents, and the woman that had adopted them and cared for them over the last five years. Amaranth tried to ignore them, but soon it was too much. He slammed his fists into his desk, shattering it completely. Blue flames surrounded him. A bright blue four-pointed star, the color of his flames, appeared on his neck.
Amaranth's powers had finally awakened, and his true status as a dragon demon had been revealed.
This is what Allegra had feared. Since she first had seen him, she had suspected what he was, and as he grew older, that fear only intensified. The scales on his body, the large purple wings and black horns, they had all pointed to his existence as a dragon demon. Until the dragon star appeared on his neck, nobody could be sure what he really was.
Allegra told Amaranth to run. She knew that when the King heard of a dragon demon that had been discovered, they were taken away and only ever reappeared as monsters of destruction, their minds contorted by the Demon King's power. She didn't want the same to happen to the boy she had come to care about so deeply.
Indigo was adamant about staying by her brother's side, despite Allegra's pleading and the risk of death. So, like so many years before, the twins went back to the streets.
They managed to hide from the King's Guard for almost two years, but finally the guard cornered them. The two put up an admirable fight, but eventually they were overpowered, and Amaranth was taken to the castle.
The King's Curse was put on Amaranth, effectively brainwashing him. He was locked in a dungeon cell until he was summoned again with a mission: Kill the traitor and the Shadowed one.
