OC Fact of the Day 21: Kieran was one of the dark elves who turned out of fear. In her case, she wanted to save her dying son and accepted dark magic as the only way when nobody else could heal her child. While she did manage to save her son, the dark magic consumed her soul and now she is not very ok.
ALTHOUGH
After her soul is trapped inside Ariana, it sort of reverses the effects somewhat and she slowly becomes more and more like she was before she became a Dark elf. Eventually she is at the point where she willingly helps Ariana, and, while her soul and dark magic remain, her conscience is put to rest.
So she gets a sort of redemption arc lol
