Calix feels no guilt. Tbh he's a horrible athlete, and Apollo seems to already be hyped up, so it's probs best if Apollo tests out the court.
Apollo waits, vibrating with excitement.

The Physical Education teacher comes back in no time with two rackets and a ball. Fortunately, he's rather commonsensical and doesn't just throw it at Apollo. Instead, he walks over and offers it to the other.

Germaine went to stand out of the court so Apollo and Iollan could move around freely.

Calix follows Germaine off the court.
Apollo takes the racket with a "Thanks!" and goes to one side of the court, ready.

Iollan has sauntered over to position as well.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you whether you wanted to serve first," he half-shouts. "Did you want to do that?"
Offline
"Nah! You serve first!" Apollo yells back. "I'm ready whenever you are!"
Offline
Iollan prepares, tosses the ball, and swings his racket. The ball sails over, and the round is on.
Offline
Germaine clapped briefly and set her sight on the ball.
Would Apollo be able to hit it back?

Apollo manages to hit the ball back.
Offline
The ball bounces smoothly off the ground on Iollan's side before he smacks it again from the appropriate position, grinning all the while.
"Nice hit!" he calls.
Offline
"Thank you!" Apollo yells back with a big grin as he hits the ball.
Offline
He smacks the ball back, smiling like suddenly Apollo has turned into a student.
Uh, so how are we gonna end this round?
Offline
uH. Idk, have Iollan hit the ball too hard on accident so then Apollo misses or something, idk.
Offline
Look, the narrator not responding because they don't like that option :D.
Guess they'll just keep going, then!
Iollan's messing a little with Apollo. He's hitting closer and closer towards the permitted boundaries.
Offline
Jwndkwkfksk BOI-
The Narrator is unsure what the would be visually since he never really seen people play tennis in years-
AnyWay-
Apollo sweat dropped, making himself move faster because he's competitive as heck. (Understandable since he's nineteen and literally still kinda a kid).
Offline
Give him a taste of his own medicine, Apollo. Give in to your hatred, anger, sadness, despair competitive spirit and the Dark Side (:
By that definition, Iollan's still a kid, too, which is why the narrator ROFLs when Apollo's narrator says he gives off dad vibes or whatever.
Offline
Well maybe stop making him have Dad Vibes XD. DID YOU SAY DESPAIR
Apollo is still keeping up.
For now-
Offline
How is the narrator supposed to know what dad vibes are when they don't have a dad? On that note, how do you know those are dad vibes? Are kids supposed to know what dad vibes are? 'Cause this narrator doesn't--
Iollan just hit the ball very close to the net instead of far away to mess with Apollo. What a nice guy.
Offline
Well uH- Good question. Do I know what dad vibes are??? I am now going to have a crisis.
Apollo hECKING DIVED to get that ball, very fortunate to get to it in time and hit it over. He's grinning widely at his achievement, even though he's on the ground now and will have to be SPEED if Iollan hits it far.
Offline
Don't worry, Iollan's giving him a free pass this time. He even gives a thumbs-up with the hand he's not using as he lobs the ball over for an easy hit and switches the racket-holding hand to the one he made the gesture with.
Offline
It's still pretty funny to watch Apollo jump up to hit the ball.
Nyoom!
Offline
Wheee, and now it's back to testing Apollo's limits again. But this time it's testing the corners, the angles at which the racket kinda hits weirdly and needs to be angled a certain way for a shot to even be satisfactory.
Offline
Okay, this was actually hard for Apollo, but it's amusing to watch him go back and forth. His hits are getting worse, though, and it won't be long until he fails or misses.
Offline
"I accept surrenders," Iollan calls as he hits the ball relatively close to the middle again.
Offline
"Ha! I will never surrender! I am! The Amazing! Astronomer Apollo!" Apollo replied, hitting the middle ball much easier. He's getting a little cocky.
Offline
"You sure? Because if you don't take up that offer, you're going to get...d-asteroid," he puns, dramatic pause and singular eyebrow raise and all, as he gives another easy hit.
Yeah, destroyed by that pun, that is.
Offline
Apollo laughs at the pun, being a Nerd and absolutely loving outer space jokes.
He hits the easy ball, well, easily. Because it's an easy ball. Duh.
Offline
Then Iollan swings. Hard.
Not that hard, mind you. Pretty hard, though. Harder than before.
Offline
This caught Apollo off guard, causing him to almost not hit back. Almost. He manages to hit back, though, but just almost he missed.
Offline
"Nice hit!" Germaine called out after Apollo's last move.
She'd never seen an actual tennis match, though obviously she knew the basics of the game. Right now it was interesting to see not because of the sport itself but because of the people playing it. She clapped for a moment.
