Skipper's hair does cover her eye. Her hair doesn't really have a part, it just flops in her face and usually ends up falling in front of her right eye.

It has a peaceful vibe, but at the same time I think it might be the "skippy" notes that give it a playful quality too?

Ok so it might be just me but the lineart looks like Specter had a slight makeover and a change of clothes xD (or maybe it's that I drew her totally wrong skskksksks)
Skipper's hair looks like the original design for Spec's so it might be that it's too clear in my mind xD

I made the melody simple and sound a bit like when a beginner is learning a new instrument (hence the recorder o.o), since you're just starting the game and exploring the castle as you make your way to the castle garden to meet Ariana's older sister Gia.
I think the tambourine and the harp add to the "peaceful" vibe, while the bass and the more complex percussion later on gives it the playful vibe you were talking about.

I'm sorry I just love talking about music sksksk
