Welp, I did get stuff done! It's 3 A.M., but I couldn't sleep without finishing, so yeah. My mom is 100% gonna be angry at me for sleeping this late but now I can fall asleep so xD.
Turns out I can write when I feel an impending time limit (even though it doesn't actually exist/isn't this early lol). I hope I can write tomorrow and have a similar mindset, with a little less stress, if you please.

Okay but why do people feel the need to make words like that?
I'm very used to ignoring actual definitions because Chinese has a bunch of terms that are common but can mean vulgar things btw, if anyone is wondering.
But still, why
I mean, like, in Chinese if you say "big bird" it can mean something quite unintentional if the context is not put correctly.
There have been so many personal stories for unintentional usage of disgusting Chinese terms from me that it's no longer funny, and has not been funny since ever.

A bit of context: My mom's watching a show and she has the volume up to the point where I can hear it.
So while Mom went upstairs, I heard this kid (probably around my age idk) crying, and he was going (in Chinese): "Father, Mother, I yearn for you" (I am aware how weird this sounds but this is a direct translation so)
So as my mom came downstairs I ranted to her about how fake his crying was and imitated what he said, but as soon as I actually finished saying "Mother" I started actually crying lmiao. And it wasn't even just the tearing up, it was the bursting-out-crying type.
Seems I have some theatre talent buried inside me huh xD
But when I was younger I avoided theatre for that reason. I actually cry and then feel negative emotions and I've never liked dealing with it so lol

I have a blanket.
It's a soft orange and too small for me now,
But it's fluffy, and I like it.
I like it so much that I bring it with me to bed every night,
So that I can be comforted by its warmth.

Mom said that if I kept wearing it down, it would have holes.
Then she'd have to take it,
And stitch, stitch, stitch to hide the holes.
Stitches are ugly, I know,
But so are holes, and I can't help it.
The blanket is too precious for me to refrain myself,
To protect it.

So years pass. The orange is worn and replaced.
The threads are yellow.
It's closest to my favorite color, gold.
A fitting substitution that camouflages into the original orange.
I still keep it close to my heart.
The stitches wear, and the holes get bigger.
Soon the blanket will be a different color,
But it's still my blanket,
And there's no way that orange would ever actually fade.
Something so pale can't possibly do that, right?

I have a tapestry of knots.
The threads, they have a hard tangle.
They wrap around my chest while I breathe, choking me into their same color.
What is this? Why is it near my bedside?
I don't know. I don't like it.
I throw it away.
I try not to remember.
