Not like Martin cares about that. He peered at their actions with curiosity.
Offline
Kiaane tosses one at Martin as they pick another one up.
Offline
This time he did react, moving up his hand to grab the pebble before it hit him.
Offline
He gets hit anyway, and his hand goes without anything touching it. Huh.
Offline
Martin raised his head abruptly to look at Kiaane. "What was that!?"
Offline
"A small sedimentary rock," came the response.
Offline
"I know it's a rock! But how did you get it to do that!?"
Offline
"Magic."
Well, here we go again.
Offline
"Yes, but what kind of magic? How does it work?"
Offline
"Look into it." The "yourself" part goes unsaid.
Offline
Martin grabs the pebble and inspects it closely.
Offline
Nothing special about it, it seems.
Offline
"I can't see anything extraordinary," Martin said with a light hint of protest in his voice.
Offline
They don't really react. Actually, they're already wandering off to something they'd been doing before, the pebbles still in their hands.
Offline
"What are you going to do now?" Martin demanded.
Offline
They just toss a pebble back. Like before, it smacks Martin upside the head.
Offline
He frowned almost imperceptibly, lifting a hand slightly to throw another nearby pebble at Kiaane's head again. "Hey! What was that for?"
Offline
They catch it and then throw it back without a verbal response.
Offline
Martin attempted to deflect the pebble in the air without touching it. He pouted.
Offline
It seems he's actually early by a bit, though he seems to have touched it slightly.
Offline
"Your pebbles are too powerful," he complained.
Offline
They don't react to the complaint. They don't even raise an eyebrow. But it's clear they're not ignoring him, since they send another pebble skidding across the ground to him.
Offline
Martin sluggishly stretched out a hand to stop it.
Offline
To the ground?
Offline
Yes, or whatever direction would be most convenient. But Martin didn't have that purpose in mind. So it would be random.
Offline
Funnily enough, he does.
Kiaane scrutinizes the action and then concludes after a second or two that it was coincidence that his action was able to stop the "projectile".
Offline
Martin just half-shrugged.
Offline
Hard to do that while you're like half on the ground. Admiration.
Kiaane doesn't really think that in those terms, of course, and they don't particularly feel admiration, but they do wonder how he does that on the ground, or something of those terms.
Offline
((this thread wouldn't load yesterday, sorry for late response))
"Why are you still throwing little pebbles?"
Offline
Well, Kiaane guesses that it means he's ready for larger rocks, one of which they summon and aim in Martin's direction with a blank expression.
