Right now, the Mamba is failing at cheating. Which is also why he's not offering encouragement or an answer. Not that he usually offers good answers.
The A.A. has no intentions on interfering. One would think they would be concerned with scales popping out of the Mamba's face, but apparently not.

The Cheetah continued holding her breath hard, and keeping her eyes closed hard, and also pursing her lips as tightly as she could. Let's hope she'll remember to breathe?
Offline
A cotton ball just poked out from her costume.
Yay? Is it okay to say yay in this type of circumstance? When the reason is that no one suffocates on a Halloween thread? When someone's cheating to cause results for someone else and will probably cause misconceptions for that 'someone else'? When at least it's a cotton ball and not something worse, and is attached to her clothing rather than her flesh?
Offline
So...yay?
The Cheetah opemed one of her eyes just a few millimeters. But she saw the cotton ball.
She grinned, in awe, and immediately looked at the Mamba while keeping up her grin.
"Did you see that? Did you see that???" And right after her phrase, she took a deep breath. At last.
Offline
The Mamba nods because he's out of breath. Wow, he sucks at this type of magic.
Offline
The Cheetah threw up her arms in celebration. She said no words, but those little jumps she gave showed her excitement.
Offline
"Ball," the Mamba states before he just half-collapses onto the nearest wall.
The narrator swears, he's more athletic than he seems.
Offline
"Yes, a tiny one!" Cheetah exclaimed, her little hops becoming erratic and not so little anymore.
Offline
The Mamba nods and then continues collapsing onto the wall while his very considerate friends either continue being preoccupied being excited over a cotton ball or continue ignoring him outright. What beautiful friendships.
Offline
The Cheetah is certainly more interested in the cotton ball than with the Mamba.
Well, now to wait?
Offline
Whee.
Lol, now to wait for the next October 31st...
Offline
Please tell me we're not actually going to wait lol. But, honestly, with these characters, it wouldn't be very surprising if the thread is still ongoing by late October.
So, for the time being, we wait.
The Cheetah's still jumping and focusing on the cotton ball. How has it not fallen off yet?
Offline
It hasn't fallen off 'cause it's stuck to her costume. It's not even a cotton ball, really. More like half of one. The other half doesn't really exist, seeing as...it would logically have been in her costume, but it's not. So yeah.
Offline
The Cheetah slowed down her jumps to poke at the bit of cotton.
Offline
It's regular old cotton, but if she keeps poking at it, it's going to wear and fall apart. Lower quality, one would suppose.
Offline
She decided that was enough poking. Still excited, she spun around like three times before bouncing over to the Mamba.
"If I get more fur, would I become a more real cheetah? A human-sized cheetah?"
Offline
"But cheetahs aren't white," the Mamba manages to point out. "And doing that this way's gonna be too hard."
Offline
"Well, I can be a white cheetah if I want!" Cheetah declared. "But yellow cheetahs look better."
Offline
"So you don't wanna be white," the Mamba evaluates, or whatever.
Offline
"I could be a white one if I wanted!"
Yeah, she doesn't want to, lol.
Offline
"But you can't," he points out. "You can't magic."
R.I.P.
Offline
"I just did!" Cheetah accentuated her words with a hop. "And if I try harder, I could!"
Offline
R.I.P. the Mamba being both bad at socializing and remembering his lies is what the actual R.I.P. means, by the way.
"You'll probably die before that," he evaluates. "And cheetahs aren't that poofy."
Offline
"I can't die! I'm still too young!"
The Cheetah flipped her hair backwards. It's not poofy, but for a second she imagined it was.
Offline
"Oh yeah, you can't die with your mask on," the Mamba realizes aloud, stretching out the "Oh yeah," before tilting his head and saying with a deadpan tone of voice, "Which you don't have right now."
Offline
The Cheetah immediately took her hands to her face. Bruh she forgot she didn't have her mask on.
Her look just says "oops".
Offline
Temporarily, the A.A. states telepathically, perhaps uncharacteristically reassuring, intentional or not.
They could advise her to be more vigilant and careful in the future, but they don't. Whether they just don't care to or see that as something she should know is unknown.
Offline
That gave the Cheetah some of her confidence back.
"Yeah, see!? I'm not gonna die, and I'll get my mask back real soon!"
Offline
Why is it that whenever the A.A. finally says something slightly more emotionally understanding, it's always used as ammo in some useless debate? One of the many unanswered questions of the world.
Also, when "See?!" is used, the Mamba doesn't back down. Oh boy. "Cheetahs still aren't poofy, though!" he exclaims. "They're furry and can be made into blankets and roasted meat, but they aren't poofy. Pillows are poofy, and cheetahs can't turn into pillows."
Offline
"You're just jealous because snakes can't have fur or turn into blankets!"
