"Well, as long as you keep up with it," Apollo said. "Then sure. I'll contact my friends tonight and see if they can help you learn."
Offline
She's grinning "Yay! When can I get started? I wanna start ASAP!"
(Sometimes, Elaine reminds me of a huge golden retriever who's just curious about everything, this girl has no restraint)
Offline
"Well, perhaps tomorrow afternoon if they agree," Apollo answered. "I doubt they will refuse."
Offline
"A day!?" She groaned, "why do I have to wait an entire day!"
Offline
Apollo sounded serious and had a bit of a harsh tone when he said, "They have their own lives too. Quit being a sel..." He trailed off, his face blanking and his eyes turning sunset. He was quiet for a good moment.
He cleared his throat, shaking himself out of it, and then said in a more relaxed tone, "Anyway, they would have to prepare teaching stuff and then prepare traveling magic to teleport here. As well, they need to take care of themselves. It would be bad to have low-energy teachers."
Apollo yawned with a shrug.
Offline
"oh," she said, it hadn't even crossed her mind that they might need time to get ready, "ah that makes sense I suppose.."
Offline
"...Now what should we do?" Apollo said, leaning against the balcony railing.
Offline
"hmmmmm...oh I know! Can I get another daydream? Those are fun!"
Offline
(help, roleplaying elaine feels like digging my own grave. Omg why did I make a character that is practically the exact opposite of me)
(cod dam you brain for wanting to make a challenge)

(XD)
"Uh, isn't it awfully close to last time you had one," Apollo said. "Uhhhm... How about we walk around instead?"
Offline
"Ugh, fine." Elaine huffed, "...wanna see my library? I bet it's the biggest collection of books you've seen!"
Offline
Apollo's eyes lit up and he nodded, clearly excited.
Offline
Elaine impulsively grabbed Apollo's hand and started leading him towards her library.
Offline
Apollo kept up well, careful to not trip over himself while running (there had been a few times in his life he stepped on his own wings and face planted).
Offline
Elaine led them down one set of stairs, onto the second floor. She pushed open the first door she found revealing a large room of just books on rows upon rows of shelves.
(Elaine has an entire floor filled with books. Is it excessive? Yes. Does Elaine care that it's excessive? No because she's the definition of excessive.)
Offline
Apollo looked around the room, amazed.
He carefully stepped over to a shelf without much hesitation, not touching any of the books but leaning close to them and reading the titles.
"You own all of these?"
Offline
Elaine nodded "yep! Impressed?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking, "because this is only the tip of the iceberg."
Offline
"I've never seen so many books before in one place..."
He sounded in awe.
"...And there's more? It's amazing..."
Offline
"Heh, I know." Elaine grabbed his hand again and dragged him away, showing him all the different rooms all filled with shelves of books.
(my pyromaniac self can not stop thinking about setting all those books on fire, I know they're fictional books but still...)
Offline
While Elaine was showing him around, Apollo asked, "Do you have a favorite genre or book?"
(JwjfkwkfjBWJFKJWNDKALD NOT THE BOOKS-)
Offline
"I mostly read fiction, the real world is boring." Elaine replied, shrugging. She ran a hand over the spines of the books, skimming over the titles.
(HSDJHFJDSHGFJHSG DW MARSH HAS A DIGITAL COPY OF ALL OF THE BOOKS JUST IN CASE)

"Fantasy... I think I like the stories where the heros always wins, the real old ones. The endings are predictable, but that's the nice thing about them."
He had a dreamy look on his face, probably about to daze off if he wasn't careful. Oh, to be a grand hero to others... It sounded wonderful.
Offline
"Personally, I think the classics are boring. I prefer stories with a more ambiguous and open end, leaves more for the imagination to play with y'know. Of course, a generic hero story is always nice when you want to read something with a predictable ending."
Offline
"Ah, I find comfort in knowing what will happen, but I understand what you mean."
Offline
"Knowing the ending...it's feels kinda like fate? Watching the characters go through their motions knowing no matter what plot twist happens they'll still make it out on top...it's just not fun. There's no real suspense, though I suppose that kind of life would be nice, one where you know you'll always win. A life with an actual end goal... Ah, sorry went on a small tangent there. Is there any particular stories you'd like to read? You can borrow one of my books if you want, just make sure to return it."
(Time to project my book preferences onto Elaine...)
Offline
Apollo slowly picked out a thick book.
"This one seems interesting. I will make sure to return it tomorrow morning."

"Great! Frances?" Elaine called out, and he arrived, "ha! I knew it, you've been following us haven't you?" She's grinning at the vampire like she just won something. Frances doesn't say a word, just awkwardly stared at the ground. "Anyways, won't you keep our new guest company? I'm gonna go get some fresh air, I'll be back later!" She waved goodbye, walking out of the library.
"Oh um, stay safe...." The words die on his lips as she's out the door before he's even finished talking. Frances sighed.

Apollo watched this interaction before sitting on the ground and opening the book. While reading through the first page, he said, "It's a lotta books."
Offline
"It is," He agreed, "sometimes I think she likes to collect these more than read them. Threw a big tantrum once when we couldn't find a limited edition copy of whatever new novel she was obsessed over, it had a gold cover or something which was why she wanted it so bad. Personally I don't care much for books, but if they make her happy then I don't really mind taking care of all these."

"How many does she own?"
