Martin tilted his head a little, waiting for an answer.
Offline
"I do not recall either," they tried.
Offline
"Really? Aw, man, that's such a pity." He kicked at the ground. "But if you don't remember then how do you do it?"
Offline
"Humans don't remember when they started to walk or how they do it, but they still do it," they pointed out unhelpfully.
Offline
The question apparently was enough to make Martin very thoughtful. He didn't answer, as he was busy with trying to recall when he learned how to walk.
Offline
They stared at him for a while longer, but soon just opted with returning to training again. Well, kind of. Evidently even they weren't used to having someone close-up like this, so after a few moments of wielding the spear fluidly, they turned to stare at him again.
Offline
Martin had returned to sitting down, though now he was watching more attentively. "Please continue!" He called out. "It's cool!"
Offline
They were initially planning to do that, but they instead addressed him. Or tried to. They wished to start off with his name only to realize that the letters were likely jumbled up in their mind. "Nartim". "Raimnt". So now they're playing a fun combined game of Scramble and Logic.
Unfortunately for Martin's name, "Itanrm" personally makes more sense to Kiaane as a name than "Martin" does.
Offline
It can be safely assumed that Martin has a habit of blinking repeatedly whenever he's confused or expecting something.
Offline
"What do others call you?" they asked after a bit.
Offline
"You mean what my name is? Well, that would be Martin. Yeah! I'm Martin." He smiled. "And you? I've seen you around but I forgot your name, I think."
Offline
"Kiaan. Kiaane."
Offline
"Kiaan...e... okay! Interesting name. Everyone here has interesting names."
Offline
"As do you."
Offline
"You think my name's interesting??? Why? That's a first."
Offline
"If it's not interesting, why would your parents name you as such?"
Offline
"Well, how am I supposed to know that?" He shrugged. "Some people have boring names."
Offline
To them, just about any name was interesting. Then again, they thought normal names were, like, "Tarnim".
Offline
"Will you continue training with that thing? It looks super. Kinda wish I had your ability,"
Offline
"You do." Martin finds the staff tossed to him. It's not even tossed simply, either. It's tossed spinning through the air.
Offline
"I wh- aaaah!" Martin backed up one step and crossed his arms over his face to protect it.
Offline
The staff hits hard anyways.
Offline
"Owww! What was that for!?"
Offline
"You should have caught it."
Offline
"I wasn't expecting it! How am I supposed to catch something that's spinning like that, anyways?" He held back his pain.
Offline
They put their palms upon each other, and after about 2 seconds, the staff whirls back towards them faster than before. They catch it swiftly.
"As such."
Offline
He frowns slightly. "If I tried long enough I could probably do it."
Offline
"Then, try." Here it comes again!
Offline
Martin was taken by surprise once more, but for a moment he looked as id he was ready to catch it... only to cover his face once more moments before the staff hit.
Offline
It still hits hard.
