Echo look to Germaine to figure out what to do now. She liked the inside. It felt nice. Echo yawned a bit, suddenly sleepy, but stood up straighter to keep herself from falling asleep.

"Please take a seat," the woman (innkeeper?) told Echo and Germaine. "Would you like anything? Food, a warm drink, blankets? Well, as long as you have something to pay with, of course. You can sit by the fire to dry from the rain anyway."
She stood expectantly, watching the pair with a smile on her face.
Germaine thanked the lady. She motioned for Echo to sit with her at a small table near the fireplace.
"Is there anything you want?"
Offline
"No, thank you," Echo replied, sitting down carefully.
Offline
"Are you sure?" She insisted gently. "Not hot chocolate or warm water?"
"If it's just water then it's free," offered the other woman.
Offline
"Uhm... water then, please," Echo asked shyly, her face blushing from the attempt to order something.
Offline
"Iced, warm, or hot?"
Pleased with Echo's request, Germaine sat down as well.
Offline
"Warm, please," Echo said, her voice going quiet at the end from fluster.
Offline
"Please bring some for me as well."
The woman gave a sound of confirmation and walked off a direction that probably led to the kitchen.
Comfortable warmth comes from the fire near Echo.
Offline
Echo fiddled with her fingers as she enjoyed the heat.
"So... Uhm..." Echo doesn't seem sure of what to talk about.
"Uhm... Uh... Nevermind... I dunno..."
Offline
At first Germaine was going to make a comment about the situation, but a thought crossed her mind.
"Excuse me for this question, Echo, but I know you're a goddess of ice. You're not going to be harmed by the fire, right?"
Offline
Echo shook her head and gave an explanation.
"My body has become more mortal... Uhm... That's what Apollo said, anyway... So, uh, so I won't be hurt by heat or immune to, uhm, cold for a while, I think. He said my body will return to normal soon, though..."
Echo nodded to herself a bit.
Offline
"Then please make sure to keep yourself warm in cooler weather like this," Germaine told her. "It would not be fun if you somehow caught a cold or a similar sickness."
She smiled after speaking, gazing into the flames of the fire.
"Is Apollo a friend of yours?"
Offline
"Yea. He's really nice," Echo nodded. "He's a sun god and can fly. He has huge wings!" Echo made a motion with her arms that was similar to that of a bird flapping.
Offline
"Oh...so he's a deity too. Good to know he's nice."
Once she had finished speaking, Germaine smiled again at Echo's motion.
Offline
"Mm-hmm."
Echo put her arms down. After a bit she said, "Your antlers are pretty."
Offline
"They...?" Germaine immediately had to check that her antlers were not visible to everyone. Once she made sure they weren't, she replied to Echo, "Thank you."
The water's taking a while to come.
Offline
"How'd you make them disappear?" Echo asked. She made a motion of patting her own head and then wiggling her fingers above her head to indicate magic.
Offline
The gesture made Germaine laugh for a second. "You could say it's magic. Because, well, it really is a sort of magic."
Offline
Echo's eyes got wide and she looked very excited.
In awe, Echo said quietly, "How many magics can you do? What kinda magics? Magic is super cool!"
Offline
"I don't think it's a matter of 'how many'," she replied softly. "I would not say I excel in most magic I can use."
Offline
"It's still really cool!" Echo said.
Offline
"I'm glad to hear you think that."
The waitress returned with a pair of translucent cups she set on the table.
"Here's your water. Is there anything else you would like?"
Offline
"N-no thank you."
Offline
"Really? Well, enjoy your stay here. Call me if you need anything."
With those words, she offered a final polite nod and went off into another room.
Meanwhile, Germaine fingered her cup while gazing into the flames of the fireplace.
Offline
Echo took a sip of her water and set the cup down. She watched the water move back and forth a bit after she set it down, as water does that when you set cups down.
"Splish splash..." Echo muttered, staring down at the water.
Offline
Echo's words caused Germaine to look at the water swishing inside the goddess's cup. Germaine still had her cup in a soft grip, one finger sliding against the side over and over while she was in thought.
For just a second, her eyes went up to Echo's. She expected to find a smile, a contented or peaceful expression on that face. Even if there was one, Germaine didn't look at it long enough to admire it. Back to the glass her eyes went, and then down to her water.
A tiny hint of a smile began to show on her own face. Hearing Echo's voice, seeing the young goddess again after what had happened in--
But...no matter how unlikely the circumstances, even if the situation turned out to be just a happy dream, she could still enjoy it, right? So far, she had acted without much thought, as she had barely dared question reality...
Just thoughts, she told herself, raising the glass halfway to her lips to drink.
Offline
Echo didn't show much of an exact expression. Her face is blank, but her eyes held some amusement as she watched the water settle into stillness.
Echo looked up and stared at Germaine, unsure of what to say. She wished she could remember something, anything, about this lady before her so she could make conversation. For now, Echo would have to tip toe around topics and hope that she wouldn't offend Germaine.
Echo continued to stare with those cold blue eyes, now her expression curious. She's studied Germaine, reaching in her mind for a memory to materialize. All that came was emptiness, which was a little frustrating to Echo. It was frustrating that she didn't exactly remember anything about anyone, and it was frustrating that she couldn't remember what exactly made their relationship.
All Echo could really base anything off of would be gut feeling, and that wasn't much either.
So, Echo is now studying Germaine silently, her hands resting on the table, one on the other.
