Apollo got himself to stop laughing and then stared at Elaine, now fully expressionless. He studied her glare, the way she was upset at him. He blinked slowly before talking.
His voice held no emotion when he asked, "Do you really want me to leave? Don't you want daydreams?"
He shifted on the railing, his midnight wings spreading out in preparation to leave.
"Or were you talking out of panic and didn't think your thoughts through? Really, I wouldn't have done that if I wasn't sure Frances would be safe. He just seemed bored, I thought it would be a good idea."
Apollo shrugged.
"But sure, I can leave if you really want me to."
Offline
Elaine froze, weighing her options "I- I- uh" she stammered, glancing over at Frances for help. "I um.." she sighed "..don't- don't leave. I didn't mean it, I was just... just... I donno..."
Offline
Apollo smiled.
"You really care about him. I understand. I am sorry for scaring you both."
His voice is still strangely showing no emotion, but his smile was nice.
Offline
"Right, yeah..." for a second she seemed almost...soft? "I- I mean uh, yeah you should be sorry! If you pull something like that again I'll um, I'll uh actually kick you out!"
Frances had quietly slipped away and is now nowhere to be seen.
Offline
Now Apollo was widely grinning, his voice back to its regular lazy joking.
"Huuuh? But what if I carried you instead?"
He leaned forward a bit on the railing, his grinning even larger as his eyes glinted with mischievousness.
"Then what would you do, Princess? Hmmm?"
Apollo noticed Frances left.
Offline
"Don't you dare pretty boy!" She hissed, taking one (1) step away from him.
Offline
"Awwww! You agree that I'm pretty!"
Apollo slowly moved off the railing to the balcony ground.
"Are you scared of my awesomeness?" he taunted.
Offline
"I- I didn't mean it literally! It's just a phrase!" Elaine looks almost flustered, blushing with what's probably embarrassment, "Also I'm not scared! I don't get scared!!"
Offline
"Well, let's find out if you're a liar, Princess!"
How did he move so quickly behind Elaine? Like he did with Frances, Apollo lifted up Elaine into his arms. He was quick and strong enough to safely carry her. He immediately started to prepare his wings for take-off, stretching them out.
"Ready?"
Offline
"Huh?! No! Put me down this instant you brute!!!" She exclaimed, trying to get out of his grasp.
Offline
Apollo's strong, so Elaine's attempt is unsuccessful.
"One... two... three!"
Apollo shot up into the air with Elaine in his arms.
Offline
Elaine yelped and wrapped her arms around Apollo's neck, clinging on for dear life.
Offline
Apollo continued flying upwards until they were high up into the sky.
"Look how beautiful the view is!" Apollo grinned.
Offline
Hesitantly, Elaine opened her eyes and was immediately awestruck by the view, she's speechless as she just takes the whole scene in.
Offline
"Isn't it awesome? Just like me!" Apollo laughed. He started flying around, kind of just zooming now without much consideration of how Elaine felt about going fast through the sky.
Offline
"AH! Jesus christ, slow down a bit!!" She yelled, clinging onto him even harder.
Offline
"I'm not even going my fastest speed!" Apollo grinned, dipping and rising through the air.
"Stop squeezin' me so much before you choke me. We wouldn't want to fall from this height, right? Hmm... It feels so good up here! The air is just right!"
He was talking to himself on the last part.
Offline
"I'll stop once you slow down!" Elaine yelled, though she did loosen her grip a little.
Offline
"Okay, okay, Princess. I'll slow down."
He did in fact slow down, but only a little.
"Have you ever flown like this before?"
Offline
Elaine, finally loosened her grip, her hands now resting comfortably on his shoulders. "No, of course not, I didn't even know flying was possible."
Offline
Apollo kind of laughed and said, "You really never knew flying is possible?"
Offline
"Not for humans, who has heard of a human flying! That's just something straight out of fiction!!" She exclaimed.
Offline
"Well, I guess I'm not human," Apollo shrugged, yawning a bit. "But I'm sure there's spells and magic that a human could use to fly. I mean, anything is possible!"
Offline
"Oh right...magic, I forgot." Elaine wasn't allowed to mettle with magic as a child, her late mother had thought it was too unpredictable and dangerous, so it kind of slipped her mind that magic was even an option.
Offline
"Magic is so beautiful," Apollo said. "It's amazing what people can do with it now-a-days! You can even use it for just entertainment instead of fighting! It's awesome!"
Offline
"Oh? Can you teach me magic then? I wanna learn! It sounds fun!!" Elaine would be bouncing up and down excitedly if she wasn't cod knows how many feet in the air right now.
Offline
"Hm? Probably! I'm not the greatest teacher or caster, but I'm sure that I, the amazing Apollo, can teach you some magics!"
They're heading back to the balcony now.
Offline
"Then who's the greatest? I wanna learn from them!"
Offline
Apollo shrugged.
"I wouldn't know if any of my friends are the greatest, but I have some that are better than me at it. But it also depends on the magic you want to learn, I guess."
He landed on the balcony softly, setting Elaine down onto her feet.
Offline
"Everything, I wanna learn everything! Anything to make me stronger!" She looked so excited, actually bouncing up and down now.
