Lyle paused at that, slightly raising a brow.

Kyle allowed his grip to slack a little, yet his hand was still touching the dish.
Corinne shook her head. "Hand it back here. I'll eat it."
Offline
Lyle cast a cautious look at Kyle, slowly letting his hand relax.
Offline
He returned an equally cautious look.
The girl, on the other hand, pulled her bowl back. "I would have finished already in the time you two took fighiting over it."
Offline
Lyle instantly released the bowl when she grabbed it, leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed. "Hmph, then maybe you shouldn't have offered it."
Offline
Kyle did likewise.
"Was I supposed to know you'd fight?" She resumed eating the cooling food.
Offline
"Maybe." He shrugged.
Offline
"Just hurry up, I guess," Kyle sighed.
"I'm on it. Meanwhile, I think we asked a question you did not quite answer."
"Hmmm? What was it?"
Offline
Lyle scratched his head, thinking. Though not that hard. "I must've not been paying attention because I don't know either."
Offline
Corinne looked at the two in disbelief. After an audible sigh, she said, "About our mission. We didn't get to check it in the list, so we wanted to know what it was."
Offline
"Ohhhh, yeah, that question." He paused, then looked at Kyle. "Do you know what it is?"
Offline
"Well, actually, you shouldn't worry too much about it," he said casually, twirling a hand in the air. "It's not hard."
Offline
"Really?" Lyle sat up and leaned forward. "What is it?"
Offline
"Oh, you'll see soon enough. It's scheduled for tonight anyway."
Offline
"Oh goody! Anything we need for this particular mission?"
Offline
"Nothing special," he answered. "Just keep your favorite weapons. Take it easy."
"Could you at least tell us what it's about?"
"Let's just say that killing is optional this time."
Offline
"Mkay," Lyle said as he pulled out a pistol to make sure it was loaded--ad locked for now--before putting it back under his leather jacket.
Offline
"Ooh, you're a gunner?" Kyle asked with curiosity.
Offline
"Yeppers," he answered as he pulled another from the other side of under his jacket, checking its ammunition as well.
Offline
"I didn't know that," Corinne commented.
Kyle grinned. "Good to know we can have ranged support. I only use one weapon."
"And that would be?"
"Why, my sword, of course!"
Offline
"As if it's the most obvious thing," Lyle smirked.
Offline
"Isn't it inconvenient, though?"
"Nah," he says. "Not to brag, but I'm really good with it."
Corinne rolled her eyes.
Offline
Lyle nodded his head around as if he were saying "Yeah yeah, blah blah blah".
Offline
"I take slightl offense to that." Kyle frowned, but brightened a little. "And you? What do you use?"
"Knives, swords, daggers... if it's close up, I can beat anyone."
Seems like Lyle has two very modest teammates.
Offline
Lyle blinked at her before slightly scooting his chair away.
Offline
"Hmm, you're scared of me now?" She half-leaned on the table, smiling slyly in his direction.
Kyle snickered.
Offline
Lyle crossed his arms, rolling his eyes. "Pfft, of course not. Just taking precautions..." He smirked. "Especially since you planted two trees in my way on the way here."
Offline
"You did wHAT???"
"Aw, come on. You just weren't paying attention to your step," She laughed.
Offline
"Was too!" he argued. "That tree appeared out of nowhere and I know you did that so you could win!"
Offline
"Maybe you need to get glasses or something..."
