"It does," he confirms pleasantly. "I suppose this is a good start."
Offline
"Yes sir," Nagesh agrees. "Well then, if we're getting to the canyon, I believe that marks the boundary to the island. Did you wish to walk around the boundary, return, or...?"
Offline
Allen shrugs. "That's up to you, really. I'm enjoying just simply being outside."
Offline
"Oh? Giving me decision-making abilities again? Unwise, but I accept." Nagesh looks up at the sky above the canyon. "Hmm...how about we tour the world today? By walking? I feel like I have more than enough energy to do that. More than once, actually, but out of consideration for your physical capabilities..." He grins.
The guy can't go two posts without joking, huh.
Offline
"Sure, of course we can walk," he agrees. At Nagesh's comment, Allen laughs again. Even through happiness, his expressions and laughter are kind of reserved, as if he's holding himself back.
"I can't guarantee I won't get tired, but I can't say the opposite thing will happen either."
Offline
"Oh? That makes me feel competitive," Nagesh says. "Perhaps once you train more, we can compete in something. Nothing magic or combat-related, of course," the mage adds as clarification. "Just something for fun."
Offline
Allen nods, but he's also thinking.
"Compete for fun, hm? Well... what do you think the 'something' could be? Whatever it is, I would try to give my best."
Offline
"Perhaps a competitive sport that would preferably be easier to access or set up."
Offline
"A sport..."
In the end, Allen nods. "That works fine. Just tell me what sport it will be, and I shall get to work to get myself ready."
Offline
"I'm not sure what sports exist here," he admits.
Offline
That makes Allen think hard again. He is pretty sure he knew a couple sports, but trying to recall them quickly actually made him forget the names.
"Well... I think archery counts as a sport, but I'd rather not do that. I can give you some sport examples later, I hope."
Offline
"Sounds good to me," he agrees. "Take your time to think, please."
Offline
"Of course. Meanwhile, please continue leading the way." The last phrase was said cheerfully.
Offline
Nagesh "hmm"s at that. "I don't know, Allen. I have more of an urge to climb the canyons than to walk around them, but I am not sure if they are safe to climb or not for you."
Offline
"Well, I-" Allen stops his phrase there with an expression that says he would have been laughing then. But he doesn't laugh, and his visible cheer fades away some (but not completely).
"I wouldn't know. Not only is it not usual for me to climb canyons, but also I have never been to this place before." He looked around and then traced a path in the sky with his sight. "I would like to come back here soon."

"Oh? Did you have to return to Rune's domain after all?" he probes with a curious tint to his voice.
Offline
"Ah, that's not what I meant," Allen clarifies. "It's just that I thought a little about the future. I should probably focus on the present for now."
Offline
"Ah, alright. Just making sure. However, there's no need to focus on the present just because I wasn't able to understand context. The future is quite an intriguing thing."
Offline
"No, I really should. But I agree with your last comment," he replied.

"Well then, in any case, we can save canyon climbing for later. Sometimes it's better as a solitary activity," acknowledges Nagesh.
Offline
"As you wish," Allen said promptly.
Offline
He chuckles dryly. "You sound like another friend of mine. Perhaps too much so. Very well, if we are to seek an alternative, then we will presumably either walk back now or walk along the borders of the canyons, yes?"
Offline
Allen wonders if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but he doesn't say anything about that.
"I feel as it it's almost too soon to return," he says. "But if you want to go back, then that would be fine."
Offline
Nagesh stares at Allen for a bit before he just lets out a short but hearty burst of laughter. In between, he manages to get out: "For goodness' sake, Allen, I've been the one who has been proposing climbing canyons and touring the world on foot. Do I sound like someone who wants to escort you back at the moment?"
Offline
"No, it does not sound like that," Allen admits after faltering for a few seconds. His smile fades away some more. And the little bit of smile that is left makes him look somewhat embarrased.
"I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have asked, but...force of habit." He looks away at the scenery around them before he returns his attention to Nagesh's face. "It would have been fine if you had wanted to return. But to tell the truth, I really don't want to go back yet."
Offline
"Then, we don't go back yet," he concludes. "So, tell me more truth--what is the next course of action you would prefer to take here?"
Offline
That's a...
Well, Allen knows he hasn't been lying, but he also is aware that Nagesh didn't imply that. And still he wasn't ready to be told something like that. He doesn't know...was it really this hard to make up his mind about something? No, for sure it isn't.
"What about the..." Allen makes a slight face while speaking, which turns into an awkward frown with a smile. "the walk? I'd like to walk around the island borders, one of the options you suggested earlier. Oh...but I did say you could choose then, and we are on a walk right now anyway."
Offline
Actually, the saying's like an idiom for Nagesh, whose native language is not English.
"Sounds good. But just to make sure we don't get blown over the edge by the wind, let's keep a little distance from the corners." Nagesh smiles in a fashion that looks like him ignoring what Allen said about him choosing before was a trap.
Offline
"Can the wind really get that strong here?"
Offline
"Considering the altitude, it would be a reasonable assumption, I think." The mage looks at the ground as if he can see the ground underneath the island in turn.
