He makes a brief chuckling noise--brief as to ensure his hands don't shake. "Don't want to bring back bad memories for you, so just take it as I remember from observation."

In trying to recall a situation Rai could have referenced, Dion noticeably spaced out and stared into the void.
At least his thinking didn't bring unpleasant memories.

Obviously, Rai doesn't elaborate. He just continues cutting away at hair, careful and precise.
The bad thing about Rai and his control over just about everything he does and says is that there's no way to tell how he's actually doing.
Offline
After a minute or so, Dion moved just a bit to see the parts of his hair that had been already cut off. That's probably his green-dyed tips.
And also, the hairstyle he had chosen means that he'll end up without any dye at all.
Offline
"Hey hey hey," Rai warns, retracting the scissor away from Dion's hair.
Well, the part he's looking at doesn't seem to be the part Rai was working on.
Offline
"I thought you were already done there with that side."

"I considered starting on that side, yeah," Rai states. "But my instincts said that'd be a bad idea somehow, so...nope."
Offline
"Well, there's no way I can see what you're doing to my hair, so I just have to trust you're not messing it up," Dion said without any aggressiveness in his voice.
Offline
"And I thank you for the trust, sir," Rai says, once again smirking like the Smirkster he is. "In fact, if I mess up, I'd probably feel so bad that I'd pay you for the damages. So until then, rest easy and...hmm, well, hope you don't get paid at the end, I suppose."
Offline
Dion straightened abruptly without any warning. He really shouldn't do that.
"Really? I don't think a little money can make up for a haircut failure. Maybe- eh, just continue."
Offline
"Well, Wiley can make hair grow or whatever he does, so while the compensation might not result directly in that, at least it's not irreversible like usual," Rai says, keeping the scissors away from cutting edge range while he slightly shrugs. "By the way, please don't do that again. The straightening thing, I mean. I might not react fast enough."
Offline
A nod was the reply to the last statement.
"You think he'd do that? He doesn't like me. You'd better keep an eye on him if you're going to ask for something like that. So don't mess up."
Offline
"He doesn't? I thought it went the other direction." Rai laces a tiny bit of surprise into his question. "Well, I will try to do that, yes."
Offline
"Mh, yes. That too. We're not friends. How are you friends with him? He's weird."
Offline
Rai goes back to the art of snippity snippity.
"Well, to be honest, I'm not too sure either. But for me, it's less of a 'Why am I friends with him?' question than it is a 'Why did he choose to befriend me?' one."
Offline
"Oh." There's not much Dion can say to that. And he doesn't want to talk much either.
Offline
Rai doesn't mind. He's not much of a talker himself. He goes snip-snip.
Offline
So, Dion sat in silence and without moving.

(Is there really more that needs to be POVed for the haircut?)

((I don't think so,,, maybe you can skip to the end?))

The deed is finished, my lord--
Rai does the rare fourth wall break where he raises an eyebrow at the narrator like "are you okay," and the answer is, "No, I'm not okay, why would you ever think that?"
Anyways, yeah, the de--Rai, you don't have to look at me like that--the haircut is finished. Though still unbeknownst to Dion, the haircut has gone well. In fact, Dion's hairstyle is currently almost exactly like the picture, plus a few instinctive changes Rai put in place that he would daresay are improvements from the original. This time at least, Rai wasn't too complacent for his own good. He's done well and deserves a pat on the back. Or just something a bit more than a simple thanks, which he's probably not gonna get, but that's to be expected and he doesn't expect that "something a bit more."
Offline
((Ha at times like this I often wish that Dion were more friendly than he is lol))
Dion continued being still and silent for a couple of seconds after the haircut was finished. He could tell that his hair no longer reached past his shoulders.
"Is it done at last?"
Offline
For some reason, before the narrator read "still and silent," their mind automatically filled in "mad." What an impression.
"Yeah." is the very simple response.
Offline
As soon as he received an answer, Dion took a hand to touch the edges of his hair.
That was comfortable.
"Is there a mirror around here? I can't see myself like this."
Offline
"No mirrors. Just screens."
Offline
"Doesn't matter as long as I can see my hair," Dion replied. He stood up while brushing bits of hair from the cape and onto the floor.
Offline
"You might have more luck with a puddle outside," Rai informs helpfully. He bends down the correct way to start cleanup.
Offline
Dion took off the cape he had on.
"No, I'm not going outside."
Offline
"Do whatever. Suit yourself," goes Rai, slowly deciding that brooms really are handy even though he had the foresight to put down the wrap to catch the hair beforehand. He thanks himself for his wisdom. Dion's hair would be hard to see against the color of the floor. Good for him for thinking ahead.

((Rai's all chill though xD))
"Where do you want me to put this?"
