"Okay." Sunny somewhat reluctantly turns back to her. "You put your hand away from the bottom," he goes imposingly.
Offline
You know, Sollux looks really happy to obey. She nods again.
Offline
(Tbh you can kinda see parts of them that haven't changed)
Sunny's now watching her hands carefully for any movement instead of her face, so there goes any empathetic reading opportunities.
Offline
She's waiting for direct instructions from Sunny. Sollux has dropped her hands to the side.
Offline
"That's okay," Sunny goes after a little bit. "Just keep your hands away from the bottom and keep the heat relatively low, I think."
Offline
"Alright!" Sollux does as Sunny told her, and moves her hands to an acceptable distance from the bottom of the pan. The heat's there anyways.
"Like this?"
Offline
"Yeah!" Sunny nods, almost like he literally just forgot he was yelling at her half a minute ago.
Offline
It isn't long before a once again cheerful Sollux asks, "Is it ready yet?"
Offline
Sunny puts his nose to the side of the pan and wafts some of the scent over without moving his hands. "Almost," he goes. "Fifty more seconds maybe?"
Offline
"That's too long," Lux complains, and almost adds a pout, but instead she decides to concentrate on her task.
Offline
A rare phenomenon occurs.
"Yes," Sunny agrees, but adds, "but better than eating raw meat. Mum said that's not healthy."
Offline
"Mhm!"
Sollux nods at Sunny's words.
Offline
Forty seconds pass before Sunny decides he also doesn't have much patience in him. "Okay, good enough," he announces, moving the pan away and starting for the place that contains the plates.
Offline
"Okay!" Sollux echoes her brother's word. She runs after him.
Offline
Sunny takes out two plates without letting go of the pan, which is a questionable choice.
"Okay!" he repeats. Again. "Let's eat!" He then proceeds to dump an entire half of what's on the pan onto one plate without even pausing.
Offline
With a cheer, Sollux goes straight to grab the plate that was just filled.
Offline
Sunny doesn't retract his hand. I mean, that'd be what a jerk would do.
As soon as she grabs hers, Sunny dives off towards the kitchen table with his own portion. Dang, he's reckless.
Offline
Sollux follows right after Sunny, though she takes a second longer to find a chair.
Offline
(Lol your characters do be finding chairs though)
Sunny plops the plate onto the table and then plops down onto a chair.
"What did Mum say we should say before meals?" he asks his younger sibling.
Offline
((Chair finding 10/10))
"Thank you!" Exclaimed Sollux, suddenly lifting her left arm into the air as if cheering.
Offline
"Thank you god-whose-name-I-can't-pronounce!" Sunny exclaims, ironically nearly kicking the table with both feet. "We can eat now!"
Offline
Okay so assuming that there's a fork or a spoon set on the table, Sollux grabs it and inspects her plate of food.
Offline
Everything Sunny said would be there is there, plus some weird variation(?) of rice that isn't weird to Sollux since they eat it a lot. The beans are a paste mixed in with said rice, and there's also bread too, with a side of melted cheese at the side. The chicken, cut into strips of all shapes and lengths, is there too, alongside all the beets and carrots, which were lazily cut.
Offline
((Tbh that description makes me hungry))
Sollux begins by eating the chicken first. The rice would come next.
She doesn't have the best manners, but she's trying, and anyways she isn't too concerned about that because her parents aren't watching.
Offline
Contrary to Sollux, Sunny doesn't have any meat on his plate. He's currently mixing everything together in what he thinks to be a gentlemanly manner. In truth...well, some things are better left unsaid.
Offline
Right now, Sollux is trying to see how many pieces of carrot can fit in the tines of her fork. And then, if that can fit inside her mouth.
There go the manners.
Offline
Sunny shoves a (reasonable) glob of food into his mouth and starts counting how many times he chews.
Offline
Lux kept trying to fit a piece of beet onto her full fork.
Offline
Sunny, being the responsible older brother he is, completely doesn't notice his sister's absence of manners. He's counted to thirty four and swallows a big chunk of chewed-up food, somehow without choking.
Offline
The piece of beet that Sollux stabbed ended up breaking in half. She just ate all the carrots in one bite instead.
