"True. Well, it was good to ask, I believe," Nagesh says with a quick grin. "Do you mind if we head back over, then?"
Offline
"sure thing, let's go," she said. Yvonne moved to return to the library, half-waiting for Nagesh to overtake her with walking or something.
Offline
Funnily enough, Nagesh is actually waiting to give her a head start. He shoots a smile at her once he realizes what the situation just became, in case she turns around and it just seems awkward.
Offline
Yvonne did turn around briefly, but she didn't even feel it an awkward situation. She nodded her head as a silent reply to Nagesh's smile, as she herself was still similing anyways.
Offline
Nagesh pays attention to the shapes of the structure around them so that he can make sure Yvonne doesn't crash into a wall while she's turning around a bit. Yes, he worries about things like that. He follows after a while.
Offline
Thankfully, the hallway is straight (for now) and Yvonne returned her attention to her path rather quickly. She continued walking.
"so, may I ask what you want to find in the library?"
Offline
"A book about a magic system, or perhaps just whatever resources we will be able to find," he responds.
Offline
"sounds good to me. there must be plenty of material to browse through."
Offline
"Yes," Nagesh agrees from his position somewhere behind her. "Even if I cannot find the particular resource I'm seeking, other resources will be interesting to regard. I'm sure they will be helpful in their own way as well."
Offline
Yvonne stretched her arms back. "the library is a nice place anyways."
Offline
Thank the gods Nagesh isn't there. Getting slightly punched isn't very fun.
He makes a sound of agreement. "Are you the formal librarian there?"
Offline
Oh I don't think Yvonne is oblivous enough to punch like that on accident lol.
Anyways, she thought about her answer.
"mm, well, no," she replied truthfully, "since neither time nor chronos have officially nominated me as librarian,,, but nobody really worries that much for the library, so I decided to care for it a bit."
Yvonne smiled dreamily. "it's a job even someone like me can do, and nobody complains anyways. well, chronos sometimes chides me for taking too long or falling asleep."
Sure sound like Yvie enjoys her job!

((sorry for just cutting in but thank you for making me realize that usually libaries have libarians to keep them tidy and deity libraries might have one too, if it's not really the deity))

((Yeah I think Yvonne would be a good librarian xD since she already unofficially took that position.))
Offline
(Tbh though I feel like a lot of mages at the Clocktower are probably pretty organized and put things back where they found them, so the job's probably easier than at a public library)
"Aw, you should try to make it official," Nagesh remarks with a joking smile. "That way you can get paid a double salary."
Offline
((Yeah, I'm in agreement with that. Most people))
Offline
Yvonne grinned. "to be honest, the salary doesn't interest me much, but it could be worth it to get an official position."
Offline
"Yes." He pauses for dramatic effect. "By the way, please don't tell Chronos and Time I said that. I sound like some sort of con man or...someone of that sort." He grins. "An avaricious person."
Offline
"come on, come on," Yvonne attempted to tease back, "there's no way my pay is ever getting to you."
Offline
"Oh?" He raises an eyebrow. "No commission fee for my ingenious suggestion?"
Offline
"nope." Yvonne popped the p. "thaaaaa's illegal. but there are other non-monetary ways to repay the favor... and this would be the case if I don't plan on asking for a real raise~"
Offline
(Thaaaa)
"Money is a material possession," Nagesh says. The way his eyebrow slips back down indicates he has concluded his side of the joking, at least for now. "Generally, such belongings are viewed as less meaningful. Therefore..." He ends the transition abruptly, without hesitation. It seems the pause doesn't come from a doubt of some sort. Perhaps he's gauging boundaries.
Offline
"dunno, I don't find money very appealing, as you said." The mage held her hands together and stretched again. "it's not something I really worry about."
Offline
"Oh, my apologies. I did not quite mean to extend that topic further," Nagesh apologizes.
Offline
Yvonne resumed her normal walking. "but it's not uncomfortable for me. hmm, now I think we're getting close to the library."
Offline
"I believe we are," he confirms.
Offline
"the plan is to look for a book, right?" Yvonne tried to confirm. She then grinned. "hey, that rhymed. but you wanted a book, no? or was it something else? I forgot."
She didn't look embarrassed about forgetting, since that's the reason she asked.
Offline
"Yes, or 'book' in the plural sense if so possible." Nagesh slopes his shoulder briefly. "Time is somewhat a constraint, as I believe it should be better for me to get back to Chronos' side as soon as I can. This matter is important as well, of course."
Offline
She nodded thoughtfully.
"thank you for taking care of chronos. and... with me here, it shouldn't take long to find what you're looking for." Yvonne paused slightly before laughing. "haha, I don't mean to brag. it's just that a lot of the time tasks are easier between two people."
Offline
"Worry not, for you have bragging rights," Nagesh...reassures? The narrator has horrible dialogue-cue vocabulary. "True that, though."
