Actually the library at my French institute has better reads even though it's even smaller.
I liked it too because I was like the only person there after classes hehe.
It has more classics and some more series so maybe I could get that book there? I'll look into it.

The entire Cycle kinda revolves around a war rip
Dragons aren't the only thing tho, they're just like also there and I love it because Saphira
Also if you ever hear about a movie called "Eragon" do not watch because it is a sin
Offline
Hehe interesting
Oh I think I've heard that movie name somewhere but Idk what it is about
Is it about dragons
Offline
The premise of the story is that this farm kid finds a dragon egg which hatches and basically imprints on him. Stuff happens and he and this old dude go to take part in this huge war that's happening between the people and this evil king who wiped out all the dragons. Along the way more stuff happens including elves, learning magic, that sort of thing.
It's been like three years since I read the last book xD my mind is a bit fuzzy.
The movie is a sin because it's a pretty inaccurate adaption. They got a ton of appearances wrong, particularly Saphira's because they make her look like a blue horse lizard thing with bird wings.
As a movie itself it wasn't that bad, I actually enjoyed it, I just kept getting distracted by the inaccuracies, and I think they also removed the characters that while they weren't important in the first book become much more significant in the later part of the series, which I think they were planning on making movies for but it just did so badly that they didn't.
Don't mind me ranting, I'm trying to keep spoilers to the minimum.
If there was one thing about the movie, one of the main characters is played by Jeremy Irons (who is now dead RIP) who voiced Scar in the Lion King and he's one of my favorite Disney villains lol

I also only watched the movie once.
All I know is that I don't need to see it again and would much rather reread the books which i probably should actually--
Offline
Oh xD
The movies are often different from the original books, or so I've heard.
I think the only movie related to dragons I've watched is Dragonheart? It was pretty cool, and my dad liked it lol.

Actually iirc when the directors who made the Harry Potter movies were working on the first one they were concerned because it was almost too much like the books adkhal
The Harry Potter movies are probably the best (in my opinion) of book-to-film adaptions because they stay so true to the books. Probably something similar with The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings but since I haven't read those books I can't say for sure.
Offline
Oh I wasn't allowed to read or watch any Harry Potter lol
Maybe I can get permission now? There's nothing related to reading that I like more than holding physical books asdfljdkskdjs. I mean digital books are fine, since books are books and I can read, but it's just not the same to read the on my laptop, y'know?
That's why I still want a kindle lol.
Oh I've seen the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies! I saw a friend had the books and since she has a good taste in books I guess they must be really good.
Offline
Ok no offense but how were you allowed to read Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit and not Harry Potter
Don't both of those trilogies involve like a lot of fighting and death and darkness to the degree that I didn't want to watch them
Offline
Oh I haven't read the books just watched the movies
Which still doesn't make much sense since it has a ton of violence anyways.
I enjoyed it a lot (not the violence, the story).
I think my parents didn't want me to read Harry Potter because of the witchcraft thing but honestly I could care less about that sort of stuff and demonic stuff, heck lol.
Tbh Idk what is exactly my parents' standards for books/movies but I generally assume that if it's very fantasy-oriented then I won't be allowed to read it.
I mean if it's about like war or stuff, then they don't mind much??? It's like, we've watched so many movies about WWII and that kind of stuff... I don't like that violence much tbh.

Beethoven like
"screw this, I wanna write the friggin music"

Mendelssohn's looked very fancy
Not that treble-y though.
I keep drawing the lower little tail on the clef (does it have a name?) to the wrong side lol
Offline
Mozart's so fancy why was I not surprised
I can't draw a treble clef at all without a reference tho lol
Offline
Then you also have Haydn and Ravel xD
I think I can get it right except for the tail lol
Bass clef be easier
Offline
Haydn and Ravel just drew a a vaguely treble clef-shaped scribble and went "good enough"
Offline
I mean is that not a mood lol
Offline
Ngl the treble clef in Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask is simple and pretty lol

Yep it was cute hehe

my parents put blankets behind the piano to mute it ;-;
Offline
Awwww
Does it like mute the whole piano or just lower the volume?
Offline
No it mutes the whole piano and now it sounds bad bc the notes have lost their crispness (if that makes any sense) and it makes me feel like I'm going deaf
Sorry if I sound salty or smthn you can imagine I was not very happy.
Offline
Awwwwgh such a pity
I think I can kinda imagine the sound :///
Offline
Ye it's bad
It makes it sound kinda like those synthesized pianos on youtube. It's not *bad* but it's not *great* either.
I kinda hope I start sleepwalking in the middle of the night or something and try to like take the blankets out--
W a i t
All I need to do is for my family to go somewhere and leave me at home. If my dad's at work and if my mom takes my siblings I can extract the blankets and hide the evidence and they'll never know
Putting aside the sound quality it kinda hurt when they muted it bc it makes it seem like they don't enjoy my playing ;-;
Offline
o.o
Have you asked them why they muted the piano? Maybe you can convince them to let you practice at full volume.
Offline
I told my dad yesterday about how the sound of the piano changed and about the "sharpness" of the notes was gone and he said that's why he muted it because it was hurting people's ears (according to him anyway. I'm the one in front of the piano probably getting it the loudest and it doesn't hurt my ears and as far as I know I'm not experiencing hearing loss)
I kind of missed explaining how the sharpness of the sound is important but then we got sidetracked by the football game on tv and I didn't have a chance to explain ;-;
I do understand their motives for wanting the piano to be quieter, because it is loud, especially where the piano is in my house, which tends to echo because of the open space we have but it's really hard to explain something like that to my dad who doesn't play an instrument other than the guitar, which he doesn't often play anyway. I'm trying to explain my frustration over something that he doesn't understand, and that makes it hard.
Oh yeah and I have to do a research paper over the next three weeks.
And I'm sleeping horribly.
And I don't want to do a violin lesson.
Ah yes this is looking to be a wonderful week
Offline
Oh you like football? Coolio hehe I don't really understand that game lol.
Welp, better get started on that resarch, then! What're you planning to research?
Honestly 3 weeks isn't too bad :') better than just procrastinating and having to hurry to finish in a week or less, so yeah you got this!
Try to get more sleep? or are you just not able to sleep?
Offline
I do not actually enjoy football that much but it's probably that i don't understand the rules lol we were watching the Superbowl because the Kansas City Chiefs were going against the Buckaneers and the Chiefs are from my Mom's home state.
The assignment is choosing a historical figure and writing about their impact on society. I chose Queen Elizabeth I (>:D) and my mom helped me brainstorm. We actually came up with some really good ideas what with the Queen managing to destroy the Spanish Armada and whatnot.
I try to get more sleep but if I want to watch anime while I do some work I have to get up really early because my siblings can't watch (for context I'm watching Fullmetal Alchemist right now. It is very much not for younger kids lol), but my siblings have decided they want to get up early too so I can't watch anything and I have to endlessly scroll youtube or something rip
Offline
Also I'm trying to write a manga script at the same time
I would take a break from everything if I could but I can't
Offline
Oh I see xD I tink my brother played it with his friends when we went to the USA but I've always been "????" about football XD.
I know none of those teams but ok hehe hope you had fun. Actually at home we're fans of soccer. We're not really much into clubs (one of my grandparents is, though xD) but we do love to watch the matches for the country teams. Like, the Peruvian soccer team xD even thouh they don't play very well. The Brazilians are really reaaally good at soccer tho.
Oooooh! That sounds fun owo. And mood about brainstorming hehe. I admire that queen too.
Try to go to sleep earlier if you can then?
I've heard about that anime and it sounds pretty good but tbh Idk if I will ever get to watch it or something haha
Have you watched Cells at Work?
:0 manga?
Ngl, mood. I'm going to be even busier this week, considering that we're moving and stuff.
