I’m going to attempt Night of Nights on piano
Pray for me
Offline
🙏🙏🙏 Good luck :D
Are you going to try to learn the whole song or a simplified version?
Offline
Update it wasn’t that hard
It wasn’t a simplified version I don’t think. I think the song itself is pretty simple, it’s just the intense speed. The key change at the end seems pretty difficult but once you practice it a bit it’s not very hard either.
If you want to look yourself it by Sheet Music Boss on Youtube

Coolio! Yeah I've heard the song and also seen a tutorial (I think xD).
Tbh sometimes intense speed can be hard haha
I gave up on trying to play "Aquarium" because there were 1/32 notes and my fingers can't go that fast xD
Offline
Oh rip
It be like dat doe
Offline
Yeah lol
Rn I'm looking into other pieces I can play xD
Might post them on my homethread later if I have time lol idk
Offline
I'm learning the Great Fairy Fountain theme but I like learning two pieces at once, or at least having two pieces that I can work on, so when I get tired of on I can work on the other.
Maybe I'll learn Lon Lon Ranch. I know some of it by listening to the track but I'm certain I'm playing some things wrong.
Offline
Oh coolio!!! That one seemed pretty hard to play to me xD
Idk, I prefer to focus entirely on a single song if it's complex and I'm trying to learn it well. Meanwhile I sometimes like to learn shorter songs. Atm I'm trying to learn Mussorgsky's "Promenade" :D
I memorized Stone Tower yesterday :D
Offline
Yeah that's what I do!
Lol it used to be to me too but after I started playing regularly and my hands stretched out it's much easier and I can play most of it now.
I played Promenade with an orchestra once, it's a very nice piece.
Btw if you haven't listened to The Piano Guys you need to check them out because they do really cool stuff
Offline
Oh yeah once I learned an anime OP in an hour and a half.
Then I forgot all of it immediately afterwards for two days after which I suddenly remembered all of it and could play it almost perfectly note-wise.
Offline
Then that probably means it's the most efficient way to learn new pieces! >:D
I recently finished learning "Exultate Justi In Domino" and woahhhh it was super fun though my hands are barely large enough to span octaves TTvTT even though I've been consistently playing for a while already.
KJFHFDKJ YOU'VE PLAYED WITH AN ORCHESTRA THAT'S HECKING COOL
The most I've done was give a concert when I was younger xD woah that's like a little over ten years ago not very impressive tbh.
I think I've seen several videos by them but rn my mind doesn't want to work so I don't remember.
I'll check them out for sure later though, I love music channels xD
Have you seen Daniel Thrasher's channel tho
Ah yes mood that happened to me with "Happy Farmer" lol
Idk memory is like that lol
Offline
Daniel Thrasher is a Youtuber that piques my mother's interest whenever she sees it and she doesn't usually watch stuff like that lol
Offline
He's great isn't he xD

yes

I'm learning Clair de Lune
as someone who once said they were learning it do you have any tips
Offline
the piece made me very sleepy listening to it lol
I actually took a nap yesterday
Just imagine me looking like I passed out on the floor and died
Offline
Ah yes I have to review it thanks for reminding me.
Well I guess I can say just try practicing over and over? The first part (which I learned) wasn't too hard, but it might be a bit hard to remember the jumps between octaves... and the chords made my hands stretch quite a bit so getting the hang of doing several octaves in a row can also take a while.
Also the pedal is a great asset for the piece haha.
I think that's pretty much it for what I've done.

That's what I thought. I can't read sheet music for piano well, I learned violin first and that means only treble clef for me so I used synthesia tutorials
Offline
Oh I see.
I'd love to learn violin someday haha
Well, I can sight-read treble clef to a basic level, though for more complex music I need to stop and actually decipher the notes individually xD
That's more true for me with the bass clef but now I'm getting more used to it.
What I did/do is to label the notes with tiny letters to the side. That way I can just play the letter note without having to think much about its position on the staff. At least until I memorize it.
"Transcribing" the notes, as I call it, can be pretty tedious but I think it's fun. Also it's really helpful. I think it took me like five hours of dedicated work to transcribe the whole sheet music for "Clair de Lune" xD
Offline
That’s dedication and I admire you for it.
I finished writing Phantom’s backstory and now my heart hurts 😭
The last exchange of words was
“You promise you’ll come back?”
“I promise”
And knowing that makes me cry inside lol
Offline
One of my rare moments of dedication xD
Why must you hurt me like this T_T
I really want to read it now but will I be able to handle it
Offline
Idk I didn't even meant to hurt myself and yet here we are
I can write it into a word doc and send it to you or something if you want
Offline
Sure if you're up to it!
Offline
Ok that is how I'll spend my evening instead of watching vines for two hours because that's more productive lol
Offline
I mean maybe but watching vines for two hours is fun too xD
Offline
True although I think Youtube figured out which anime character I like way too much and is now giving me videos exclusively of that character.
Also I have decided that Phantom's theme is "Find the Pieces" which is a minecraft song by tryhardninja that freaking slaps
Offline
YouTube's like that xD
Oooh okay, gonna see if I can give it a listen soon.
Offline
I was listening to music and came up with three songs for a character's theme song that I'm deciding between them and I'm giving a bird theme to a deer person
logic
Offline
Characters with more than one theme song are cool thooooo :0
Yes pure logic.
