Galaxian wasn't too sure what to think of that. He was half sure the other was only saying that just because. While James did that, he said to Alex, "So, what're your reasons to try to kill things for a career or job or whatever?"
Offline
"Uh, it's the coolest thing ever, obviously," Alex said. "Why wouldn't you want to go kill monsters?"
Offline
"Well for one, it tends to be prejudiced," Galaxian said, accidentally using a big word. Or one that'd be one for his supposed age.
Offline
Alex furrowed his brow. "Prejudiced?" He asked. James had gotten onto the building so Alex began up the rope.
Offline
The possibility of Alex and James leaving him down here crossed Galaxian's mind, so he said carefully, "Well, sometimes they're just killed because they're so-called monsters," he said.
Offline
"I think it's obvious when something is a monster," Alex said. He finally got to the top and looked down. "Do you need me to pull you up or can you get up yourself?"
Offline
"A pull would be nice," Galaxian abided, starting up himself. "Thanks."
Offline
Both Alex and James grabbed part of the rope and began to pull him up.
Offline
Galaxian's really light. That he can't change. Anyways, he scampers up like a monkey. "Okay, where to now? Down, right?"
Offline
"No, across," James said. "We're gonna get the hook across to that building, tie the rope to something here, and walk across it like a tightrope! Then we'll jump down onto the guild hall and go down the chimney." He pulled up all the rope and handed it to Galaxian. "You're the best at this, so you can try to get it across first."
Offline
Small monster hunters or not, Galaxian was not having anyone die on his watch. He gave the two a suspicious look. "Where have you gotten acrobatic training?"
Offline
"Well, we haven't had any training, but we were able to stay on a line we drew in the ground just fine. And the acrobats make it look really easy so it cant be that hard to do."
Offline
Galaxian's concern instantly skyrockets. "It looks easy."
Offline
"All they're doing is balancing on a rope," Alex shrugged. "I've got great balance."
Offline
"No, they're combining strength, grace, balance, and flexibility with elements of dance, gymnastics, and contortionism all together. It takes years of hard work to even just walk on a rope!"
(I dreamt about this yesterday night lol)
Offline
"Well, then, what do we do then?" James asked.
Offline
"If we can find a ladder, we could get in from the back, right? As long as we time it right." Galaxian lies a bit lower so he's not as apparent against the landscape if anyone ever does look up.
Offline
"That'll take too long," James said. How about we hang from the rope and move that way?"
Offline
"...what?" He's genuinely confused. He's thinking of monkeys on vines.
Offline
"You know, like we're on monkey bars." James said.
Offline
"Well, one, rope burns are...existing, right? Two...that's like a horizontal ladder that somehow won't drag," Galaxian reasoned.
Offline
"Maybe there's a really long stick nearby," Alex said. "And we can do that thing where we use it to jump across."
"Or we can use the grappling hook to swing across," James said.
Offline
Galaxian quite frankly looked terrified by how lacking they were in knowledge.
"I'm getting a ladder," he announced as he looked for a place to slide down.
Offline
I imagine their lack of fear towards anything was probably concerning too.
James sighed. "Fiiiine, but be quick about it!"
Offline
A quiet noise of assent was heard. Galaxian slid his way down the side of the building and hopefully managed to totally NOT cheat and obtain a ladder. Half carrying and half dragging it along, he looked for where the other two were.
He was becoming quite aware how convenient teleportation was, more so than he already knew.
Offline
James and Alex whisper cheered as they spotted Galaxian. "Yesss! Is it long enough to stretch between the roofs?!"
Offline
"Between the...roofs?" Galaxian, who very much intended for them to come on down to get on the ladder again, is pretty confused.
Offline
"Yeah! We'll put it on both sides and cross that way!" Said James, who was reluctant to go down.
Offline
"C'mon down," Galaxian said stubbornly. He was not risking accidents like that.
Offline
"Uuuuuuugh," james said dramatically. He went to the edge of the roof and decided that it was close enough to the ground where he could just jump down.
