For Hitan, any sentence that's spoken without another's response when it would have been fit is too long.
"Well, I suppose even predators have choice," he said. "It almost belies what one would think of the correlation between its moral standards and actions."
Offline
((oh my goodness sorry for not responding))
"If you could consider him a predator. Predators hunt for survival. He looks like he hunts for game, or that's how it seems."
Offline
"Perhaps, but..." Hitan seemed like he might slightly regret saying this. After all, it was a weird sort of justification for the other. "It lives, or at least lived, in another world. It doesn't excuse its actions, but that world would have different ways of living than this one, presumably."
Offline
(Oh and about the response? Dw about it! It's hard without notifs in place lol)

Offline
((oh ok then ok))
"Possibly. Though, I didn't know it came from a different world, did it?"
Offline
"I presume it did." He turned his gaze away slightly.
Offline
"Hm. I guess it's possible. Maybe he also could be from the underworld or something..." Time pondered/
Offline
Hitan nodded slightly. Commence a slight bit of silence.
"I'm sorry for turning the subject away, but is your twin sister doing well?"
Offline
Time himself was actually thinking of changing the subject himself, actually. Though talking about Chronos? That wasn't something he didn't really want to talk about... but he did kinda go and talk about something that was possibly sensitive to Hitan, so, maybe he deserved it? Somehow?
He shrugged, "Well... she's fine. I would say, yes." He lied. Was he lying, he kinda was telling the truth? She was currently much uch finer now than before when she was in a coma... now she was just in a wheelchair, and can't use her magic... and couldn't use her legs. And he hadn't even told her what happened yet. His mind started to slightly wander on what to do next to help her.
Offline
"Would that be fallaciousness or some sort of untruth?" asked Hitan, who could actually discern others' feelings when he tried, which actually wasn't most of the time. Kids? Yes. Adults? No. He managed to make it sound kind of humorous...kind of teasing, not completely serious. Well, not meant to pin Time down at least, the master of tones he is. The narrator's kinda rambling about something that might not be that important--the point is, Hitan just doesn't want to make Time too uncomfortable. But the angel really does want to try to help Time, maybe repay the other back in some way? He's not too sure himself.
And he figured if he signified he had known about her coma, it'd probably freak Time out.
It was best not to do so then, maybe.
Offline
It seems really hard to pull something like that off, but ok.
"What?" Time rose a brow, "Untruthful?" he repeated.
Offline
"Is fine a synonym of 'conscious'?"
Offline
"No, it is not." He replies, wondering what Hitan was getting with this.
Offline
"Ah, that's good then."
Is that asking the narrator? Because they're a narrator who knows, like, nothing about their own characters sometimes. Contrary to their claims.
Offline
Time rose a brow.
Nooo, that was just Time literally wondering the reason behind him saying that.
Offline
"Ah, don't mind me too much. I have a tendency to lie about being fine myself, so..." He stopped, covering his mouth with his right hand slightly with a quick laugh. "I revealed too much. You heard nothing, good sir."
Offline
((oog sorry for not responding again))
Time suddenly frowns, "Is it that obvious?"
Offline
"Well, you certainly seem to match up to your reputation of being a straightforward entity, Sir Time. I may have cheated slightly, but if you won't be slighted by the statement, you're rather easy to read."
Or perhaps the narrator is just cheating because Time's narrator outlined the character's thought process.
Offline
Time sighed, "Cheated? What did you do to see? Or what did I give off?"
Offline
He actually pondered telling the god for a few moments, but in the end he just cracked a small smile. "I think I would rather not say. I like it when others are honest."
Offline
"Shouldn't you try to be honest then? Sounds a bit hypocritical to me."
Offline
"It depends upon circumstance," he said, not agreeing or disagreeing and also not offended by the use of "hypocritical", which usually is taken in a pretty negative connotation. "For instance, kids cannot hurt me, so I am honest towards them. In some scenarios, it would debilitate to be honest...the act of being honest, I mean. I'm sure there is some way you can relate to that."
And no, Hitan did not use his eye ability to actually look for how Time can relate, but Time just not telling anyone about how Chronos seemingly randomly fell into a coma (the narrator wrote comma oopsie) would be a good example, no?
Offline
I didn't know Hitan had an eye ability.
Time sighed again, "I can. My bad."
Offline
Oh no.
If they knew each other better, Hitan might've cracked a smile at being right, but he didn't, thinking it might be rude. He didn't ask for clarification either, or give any of his own.
"But if I may presume further, I presume you are also usually someone who tries to be truthful when he can."
Offline
"Where are you even getting all this information from?" Time questions, "We've only met a small number of times. And in those times, I've never really revealed anything of the such."
Offline
"A man doesn't reveal his sources," Hitan said, which was actually a pun, since he was referring to several books that talked about Time, and books are sources.
Offline
The mortal writers (or/and Fallon) really must be stalking Time to find things out lol. Or maybe it's just one of his mages or something, idk.
Time sighs, "Well then, I'm assuming you're wanting to know?"
Offline
"Know...how you relate? I certainly wouldn't mind," he said. "It sounds like an interesting tale."
Offline
"Yeah. I thought maybe since we were talking about something I would assume you're not too keen about, I should talk about something I'm not really keen about either."
Offline
He half-laughed. "I didn't expect you to see it as an exchange." He added, as if joking, which he was: "'Well, I talked about an uncomfortable topic. Let us talk about one of mine.'" He was imitating Time's tone lightly to make sure the joke was actually distinguishable.
