"So they married because the Beast was cursed? What kind of magic? What kind of curse?"
Maybe it's natural that he finds that part interesting.
Offline
"No." Kiaane takes a bit to consider that before just saying, "Causation."
Offline
He tilted his head. "What's that?"
Offline
Kiaan's trying to think of a demonstration instead of a verbal response, which is probably at least ten times easier.
Offline
Martin looked interested and slightly impatient.
Offline
Kiaan proves their point of sorts by pointing to a book.
Offline
He went to the book and tried to get it (depending on its position).
Offline
The book immediately just finds its way into Kiaan's hand as soon as Martin touches it.
Kiaan then puts the book back without further explanation.
Offline
"Did you move the book?"
Offline
"Yes." By that, Kiaane means yes, they did put the book back, and thus they moved it.
Offline
"What does this book have to do with the story on that book?"
Offline
"Causation," comes the immensely helpful sort of response that can be expected by Kiaane, always and forever.
Offline
"I still don't understand," he half-complained. "Do you, Cricket?" That part was spoken into his sleeve.
Martin looked ready to sit on the ground.
Offline
The cricket chirps, just as helpful as Kiaane.
Offline
"See, it doesn't understand either!" Martin gestured to his sleeve with his other hand.
Offline
Kiaane stares at Martin's sleeve as if they either think otherwise or think they've been betrayed. One of the two.
Offline
He held out his arm.
Offline
Oh, Martin is sorely mistaken if he thinks the cricket will come out to take on whatever Kiaane's current response is.
Offline
"Can you understand Cricket language?" Martin asks, getting distracted from his previous question.
Offline
Kiaane nods.
Wow.
Offline
"When did you learn it?"
Offline
"Before." They nudge another book inside and briefly touch the spine of the book from a few moments ago.
Offline
"Well, I would like to learn it," he sighed.
Offline
The cricket chirps.
Kiaane's trying to remember if they have a book on cricket language.
Offline
"Can you understand what I say? Huh?" Martin peeked into his sleeve.
Offline
The cricket chirps, which doesn't really answer the question because it's not like Martin could understand anyways.
Offline
Martin gave Kiaane a quizzical look. "Can you translate? Please?"
Offline
"Perhaps," Kiaan says.
Offline
"Can you?" Martin repeated, anticipation shining in his eyes.
Offline
Kiaan just looks at the kiddo with their lime green eyes because that was the translation. R.I.P.
