Silence was hanging from a branch in a modern sect tree, typing away on their phone happily.
Let's specify was.
They had dropped their phone, which had bounced unharmed just a few inches away. Instead of climbing down the tree to pick it up like a normal person would do (because they aren't normal), Silence had decided that swinging frantically back and forth from their knees (upside down, may we add) while trying to reach for the device was the solution to the very simple problem. Their fingers would graze the ground and then just fall a bit short from reaching the phone, their black-painted fingernails just a meer distance away.
It was quite amusing, actually, to watch such a thing.
It's even funnier once you realize that Silence forgot that they are a shapeshifter and could grow their arm a bit longer to reach the phone. What a silly demigod, forgetting their main ability!
"Oh dang," Silence huffed, accidentally knocking their phone farther away by the corner, the rectangle spinning in almost a mocking way. You could see their will to live die in their eyes at that instant, another huffy sigh being puffed out.
"Noooo..."

Galaxian is sometimes one for simple solutions, and that's probably why the phone suddenly finds itself floating within range of Silence. Of course, it's not normal for a phone to do that, but hey, problem solved, conflict resolved, the end. Yeah no, just kidding.
Offline
Silence, sometimes ranging from incredibly smart to top ten dumbest people, was having a very not-smart moment and immediately gasped with wide eyes, "Oh my gods??? A ghost???"
They stopped swinging and stared at the phone.
"Thanks, Ghost Being? I dunno what to give you because you're a ghost, but thanks??"
They reached out to grab their phone, looking very amazed.

This is one of those moments when Galaxian's moral alignment is slightly confusing, because the phone just goes intangible as soon as they touch it. They can still see it, but their fingers just pass right through it.
Offline
Silence blinked a few times and paled.
"oH NO MY PHONE'S A GHOST-"
Offline
Galaxian's holding in laughter by not breathing, which for him is perfectly fine.
The phone just kinda floats through the air. This is fine.
Offline
Silence watched for a moment, trying to decide what to do. They jump out of the branch, shifting into a black cat and following after the floating phone.
Offline
The phone wiggles around in the air like it's finally free of the world of the tangible.
Offline
"I wonder what it's like to be a ghost," Silence said, still following after their phone. "Hey, Phone, can you talk now that you're a ghost? I didn't know phones could even turn into ghosts!"
Offline
If it can, it's not really doing that. (:
Offline
After a moment of silence (buh dum tiss), Silence said, "Huh, guess not. That's fine though. Did you die when I dropped you? Sorry about that, didn't mean to, really."
They switched back into their androgynous human-ish form, examining the phone, even running ahead a bit to do a full circle around it.
"Ooh, I should tell Francy about this-"
They reached towards their pocket, an instant of confusion and then realization. They laughed at themself and continued to follow the phone.

"Alright, I think I've gone far enough," Galaxian says behind the tree.
Offline
The Narrator is guessing that Silence is close enough near the tree to hear Galaxian, so they sort of spin around a 180° or so towards it, trying to see where the voice came from.
"Huh?"
Offline
The phone flies towards Galaxian, who catches it swiftly.
Offline
"Whoa, you literally caught the ghost!" Silence said, still thinking the phone is now a ghost. The demigod is most definitely not having a Big Brain day.
Offline
"Nope. Ghosts would have once been living." Galaxian shakes the phone a bit. "This is not."
Offline
"Huh? Then how'd my hand phase through it?"
Offline
He tries to wink but just ends up blinking for a slightly prolonged period of time. "Secret."
Offline
"Wait, you did that?"
It suddenly clicked, although not completely.
"Whoa! You got me! That's so cool! I totally believed it was, like, a ghost or somethin'! Wait, are you a ghost?"
They try to poke Galaxian's arm. They... why are they like this smh.
Offline
He remains unperturbed and says, "I have some living functions, so no."
Contrary to his point though, he's just as intangible as the phone.
Offline
Silence has a very ":0" face as they phase through Galaxian's arm.
"So cool! I wish I could do that. That's super neat! Does it hurt when I do this?"
They started pulling their hand in and out of Galaxian's arm, still quite fascinated by the fact Galaxian is intangible.
Offline
It takes Galaxian a moment to remember what hurt is. "Nope."
Offline
(Galaxian: What is hurt and where do I buy one?)
Another ":0" expression.
"Oh! I never greeted you properly! Hi! I'm Silence! I would also like my phone back! :D"
The Narrator would like to note that no, Silence did not say "Colon Dee" outloud but they had made a very happy face that would be similar to the ":D" emojicon.
Offline
Galaxian just reciprocates their look with a ":3" expression and doesn't give it back yet.
Offline
Silence just stands there for a bit, a bit confused.
"Uh...please?"
Offline
The phone pops back into their pocket.
Offline
They were surprised at first, but smiled, "Ah! Thanks!"
Offline
"You're welcome." He smiles slightly.
Offline
"Hmm... what's your name? Wait, let me guess... uh... Oliver? Nah, no, maybe Arlo? Hmm..."
They do their circle thing in which they walk around Galaxian while thinking. Silence is pretty weird.
"...Oh, maybe you're Orion? Hmm, that doesn't fit...maybe Castor?"
Maybe you should let the child speak, Silence.
Offline
Galaxian's eye--yes, singular eye, the other one is just blank--just follows Silence as they, well, kinda prowl around him. He remains silent, probably amused.
