For some it may be a normal day, and for some it might not be as normal. But for Allen, today is just one more day of routine.
It's not like he has a lot to do anyways. However, there are some tasks he likes to take care of in Rune's domain. The cleaning of the kitchen, for example.
Although, under his daily care, the kitchen is nearly spotless. The counters are shiny and all utensils in perfect order.
Yet Allen is there today as well, wiping the edge of a counter with a cloth.
Perhaps he would do well in taking a bit of a distraction, no?

Nagesh tries to say goodbye to everyone whenever he leaves the domain after his "shift"is over, and this time is no exception. It turns out the kitchen is apparently his last destination. He waits a bit to listen to what's going inside--not that Rune's domain usually has big noises in the kitchen, but he knows some people don't like to be interrupted while cooking.
After a while, he knocks lightly and tentatively on the door.
Offline
The door was only half closed, and it slid open slightly with the knocking. Allen had promptly gone to check anyways.
Cloth in hand, he finished opening and smiled at Nagesh.
Offline
"Hello," Nagesh greets warmly as soon as he spies any Allen feature through the door crack. It seems he's stepped back a bit to give the other some space. "Still busy, I see?"
Offline
"Just making sure everything is clean," Allen replied cheerfully.
When the door was fully open, it showed a completely spotless kitchen.
Offline
"It looks spotless to me," Nagesh says with a chuckle. "In fact, it's like that every day I've been here."
Offline
He stepped a bit to the side in case Nagesh wanted to enter.
"Really? Good to know," he said pleasantly. "I do try to keep it clean always."
Offline
Nagesh doesn't really feel like it'd be practical for him to poke his head over Allen's shoulder or whatever to confirm his point further, so he stays where he is. "Your efforts are clearly producing results. I daresay it's enough for you to move onto something else," he adds passively a moment later.
Offline
"That's a good idea," Allen replied, pensive for a moment. "Perhaps I should clean the library again next."
Offline
Nagesh laughs. "No, I mean, perhaps you should take a while to yourself. Breaks are very important."
Offline
"Ah, of course. Like..."
Allen almost chuckled. "There is not much else I can do."
Offline
Guess Nagesh has just met someone of the legendary has-no-hobbies categorization.
"There is certainly more than chores to do," Nagesh counters.
Offline
"Well, it's not like I think of cleaning and organization as a chore. It's actually a very enjoyable activity to me."
Offline
"Admirable," Nagesh says with a laugh, "and correct, since chores may not be affiliated with negative connotations. However, I do believe it's best not to be stuck in routine."
Offline
Allen switched the cloth to his other hand. "Yes, of course. Any suggestions for activities other than those in my routine?" He's genuinely asking.
Offline
Nagesh starts to speak but reconsiders. "Well, I don't know you all that well yet," he says. "What do you like to do? Other than your usual, of course."
Offline
"Write the events of the day in a journal," he answered truthfully.
Offline
"Hmmm, well, reading seems like the most obvious choice there, to perhaps expand your writing repertoire," Nagesh muses. "Do you write with expression?"
Offline
Allen changed his stance, changing his arms to a thinking pose. "I'm not very sure of that--nobody has ever read my journals to tell me their thoughts--but I would say that I think so." He smiled again. "It's more than just a list, if that helps."
Offline
Nagesh laughs at the thought of someone in the domain reading a journal without permission and then deciding they could be a peer reviewer. "Perhaps it does. Say, do you go outside of this domain, then?"
Offline
"Now that you mention it, I don't think I've left this place in... a long time?" Allen laughed.
Offline
"Oh no." He offers a somewhat playful smile. "How do you children get your nutrients staying inside a stone castle all day?"
Offline
"I can get vitamin D from other sources. But really, now that you mention it, perhaps I should go out some day."
Offline
"Even if so, I doubt it is enough," Nagesh advises warmly.
Offline
"That's true. I guess I put others' welfare above my own," he admitted shamelessly and with a light laugh.
Offline
"Interesting way of putting it." He tilts his head. "I am sure you know that doing so is somewhat contradictory, however. Right?"
Offline
Allen replied with a nod. "I don't mind much."
Offline
"The conclusion is you're just not getting the nutrients you need," Nagesh says after a pause, laughing slightly. "Would you like to take a quick walk outside with me, then?"
Offline
"Of course!" Allen sounds a little more excited than before. "I don't see why not."
Offline
"Alright. So, should I ask Rune, or is it okay for us to just leave for a while? I can personally escort you back," Nagesh offers with his smile still present.
