"No."
Offline
"Then where? Let's hurry up!"
Offline
Kiaane stops like, "lead the way".
Offline
Martin also stopped, looking at Kiaane.
Offline
Well this be awkward huh.
Fortunately, Kiaane resumes their gait once they figure out Martin is not going to lead after all.
Offline
And Martin is back to following happily.
Offline
"Why are you going to the location?"
Offline
"Because it's the best thing I can do at the moment! More... how do you say it?" He paused, trying to remember a word. "Productive, I think."
Offline
"Have they not assigned duties to you?"
Offline
"I already made my bed earlier today," he said while shrugging.
Offline
It takes them a moment to remember what making one's bed is. Kiaane hasn't slept in quite a while, so that accounts for that, and also just lack of chore-doing in general. Anyways, they've acknowledged that silently, apparently counting that as a duty. "Do you 'make' everyone's beds?"
Offline
"Only mine, and sometimes my dad's. If someone asked me to do it I would."
Offline
Kiaane's still trying to remember if making one's bed takes a few hours. They acknowledge his statements with silence, again, though they do stop in place.
They're in a nice little clearing in front of the nearby forest now.
Offline
Martin walked up so he'd be standing at Kiaane's side. He looked around the clearing, and then up at them with a quizzical face.
Offline
(Read "standing" as "stabbing", way to go @Me)
Well, it seems they're drawing a circle in the air. Nothing happens at first, but then there's just a sudden popping sound, like a firecracker, right in front of the two.
Offline
The boy's eyes widen as he stares at the place from where the sound originated.
Offline
Kiaane then proceeds to pick Martin up by his armpits and step straight into the source of the noise, which had yet to even materialize completely. After a brief moment of what feels like falling straight up (basically falling but in the opposite direction), they put him down.
The bibliotheca is where they said their destination would be, and that appears to be where they are. It's a relatively small one, at least from what Martin can see. The bookshelves are only slightly taller than Kiaane themself, and they're not even packed with books, just populated if the books are people.
Offline
They probably have a good amount of strength, but Martin is surprisingly light to carry anyways.
Martin didn't really, well, react negatively. He didn't scream (though his expression made it seem as though he were about to do so) nor squirm.
When Kiaane put him down, Martin's first action was to sit on the ground and look around with wonder.
Offline
Well, at Martin's height, not to make fun of him, he can't see much. It's also kind of dark.
Kiaane summons some fire (they don't have electricity magic at the moment)--a very minimal amount of it--and blows it lightly towards a nearby torch, which lights, casting a purple hue across everything. Kiaane then continues on.
Offline
He scampered up and behind the older person. "Whoaaa, what's this place?"
Offline
"The bibliotheca," comes the innocently bad answer.
Offline
Martin just took the answer, since he was more preoccupied with looking around the place.
Offline
With the purplish light emanating from the torch, it's a little easier to see, but he still can't see much, and the shelves in front are getting taller. As for the shelves, they don't even seem like wood. They're very polished. If they're wood, they're more like crafted instruments than anything.
Offline
He extended a hand to touch the wood because it looked interesting. Though he still was following Kiaane.
Offline
It feels like violin wood, if he's ever felt that before.
Offline
He hasn't. He just wonders at the strange feeling.
Offline
Kiaane has stopped some distance ahead, pulling out a book with articulate preciseness.
Offline
Martin ran up to Kiaane, but he continued looking at the wood.
Offline
In this time period, they don't put summaries on the back page. Kiaane doesn't even open it, though; they just continue ambling along the corridor, occasionally looking at covers and such but not really opening anything after that.
Offline
"Are you looking for something special?" Martin questioned.
