He makes some sort of hissing noise.
Offline
"See? That means yes!"
Offline
Closer translation: "Ow, that hurts," the A.A. graciously translates before they repeat their previous command to the Mamba, though the Cheetah can't hear that.
Offline
"Aww. Okay, I stop then. Where does it hurt?"
The Cheetah half-kneeled down next to the Mamba, looking him over with a more concerned face.
Offline
"Head," he mutters in what sounds like a pained tone.
Offline
"You need to get better," she whispered.
Almost gently, the Cheetah moved her hands so she could brush the Mamba's bangs and hair back.
Nice attitude change...?
Offline
Almost like they're performing the same show or something and she just gave a cue, the Mamba goes completely silent and limp. He really is kinda like a snake.
The A.A. regards all of this silently and then moves their line of vision a bit to regard the partially burning building.
Offline
And so, the Cheetah began to fix her friend's hairstyle. Or maybe mess it up.
It was supposed to be more of a stroking movement to make him feel better.
Offline
Free anti-hair-taming! Yay!
The Mamba closes his eyes. Maybe it's working. Or maybe he just wants to close his eyes.
Offline
"Yes, relax like that," she continued, a tiny grin appearing on her lips, "just... there..."
The Cheetah's touch was unusually soft and calculated. It's kind of similar to when she works with LEGOs.
If she had known any songs she might have begun to hum, but she doesn't have knowledge of lullabies.
Offline
If he falls asleep, you carry, the A.A. helpfully informs the Cheetah of the terms and conditions of what she's currently doing.
Offline
"If he falls asleep, I'll wake him up," the Cheetah replied almost dreamily.
Offline
The A.A. doesn't make an affirmative noise because if they didn't agree, then they probably would take a more active measure.
Aaaaand...guess who's probably falling asleep? :]
Offline
The Cheetah doesn't notice yet. Probably because she has her own eyes closed, although she's nowhere near close to falling asleep herself. She continued the stroking movement.
Offline
The A.A. surveys the burning building once more and starts heading in that direction. Silently.
Offline
"Are you better now?" Cheetah finally asked softly, surveying the Mamba's state with her eyes. Not that she could really tell anything...
Offline
The Mamba does not respond. Which isn't actually a good indicator of anything, since even usually he sometimes just blocks out verbal communications by accident. Also it might mean he's uncomfortable. It could mean a plethora of different things.
Offline
The Cheetah knelt down completely and sat to wait for some kind of reaction. If there was none, she'd have to do something else.
Offline
There's no reaction.
Offline
"Mamba? You awake?"
The Cheetah shook his shoulder slightly.
Offline
He's about as limp as a rag doll with creaky joints, the latter part added because it sounded like his bones just made a squeaking noise.
Offline
"Hey hey, we need to get going." She shook him harder.
Offline
Creakity creakity.
The A.A. is like, "This is fine." as they leave, yes.
Offline
"Heyyyy, wake up~! If not, then I'll-- just--" The Cheetah went around to grab the Mamba's shoulders so she could drag him along. "--I'll just help you come. Like this." Even then, she's careful to not let his head touch the ground.
Offline
Still no response. It looks like he's sleeping like a log, which is understandable. He either sleeps like a log or he might as well not be sleeping at all. The effects of sporadic paranoia are not very pleasant, apparently.
Offline
The Cheetah's just carefully dragging the Mamba with her. She can't pick him up, so that's the best choice for her.
Offline
And it's just a normal day. That is, until the Mamba suddenly writhes up. He literally moves like a snake in that instant--it's like he has no spine. For a moment, he's being dragged along fine, and then the next he's like some winded-up whip coming towards her face. A whip shouting "BOO!" with a giggle, that is.
Way to repay her gentleness, Mamba.
Offline
She let out a squeak and toppled backwards, landing in a sitting position.
The Cheetah looked up at the Mamba with a serious face.
Offline
(That gives Dion vibes
The funny thing is, this thread seems like the one where the scarier thing is happening lol but this ain't the thread she's screaming in. Ig it's characteristic though)
"I gotcha!" the Mamba exclaims ungratefully, though he does fall back onto the ground as well, his head hitting the ground with a pretty loud "Clonk" if the narrator may say so themselves. He looks undisturbed from that, though.
Offline
((Idk xD Cheetah's weird))
At the sound, the Cheetah hurriedly crawled over to her friend's side.
"Is your head okay? Does it hurt again?"
