Kiaane has literally been doing nothing productive. Part of that stems from the fact they don't really know where anything is. After finding coffee, they basically didn't talk any more and just went around, wandering. As they usually stuck to routine, they don't seem the most comfortable with the turn of events. However, at least their silence is pretty accustomed to by their fellow guild members, hopefully none of which try to strike up a conversation with the awkward young man.
However, by the ending time of their venture, they've at least gotten accustomed enough to the surroundings that they're wandering back to the kitchen. Unfortunately for the narrator, they just remembered Kiaane doesn't really eat healthily/take care of themselves, so they're probably going back for bean water. Someone will have to order them to the dining hall, I guess.

Martin had given up on following Kiaane, so he had been doing some other stuff meanwhile.
He was in the kitchen pocketing some dried apple pieces at the time Kiaane would return to the kitchen.
So someone would have to tell him to go to dinner too.

Kiaane's expression might've been seen as funny by anyone other than the Thaohals in general because they look kind of caught off guard, like a cat trying to open a cabinet sneakily or something. They recover quickly though and slightly nod.
Unfortunately, Kiaan will probably not be the one to call Martin to the kitchen because they're not considerate that way and won't be able to see the issue until it happens.

Kiaan, having nodded, doesn't move.
"He said 'you should join us," a nearby mercenary-mage remarks as she walks nearby. She only slows down her brisk pace to give a quick but reverent nod to Elio before turning her head to Kiaan again. "So, that means--move."
That gets Kiaan moving. Not quickly, though. Just their normal pace. Like they're obeying an order.

They were soon to arrive at the dining room. It consisted of large, long tables, topped with plenty of food and drink. Oh, and people too, people were also there as well. Ngl the narrator doesn't really know how to describe it too well other than that.

To answer Elio's question, Kiaan had responded curtly with something along the lines of them having looked around the castle.

Kiaane's going over to their usual spot by instinct--the corner, where no one can give them anything more to eat, not that anyone usually does that. Or maybe they do. Who knows.
Mostly it's because Kiaane retains a sort of liking for more secluded and somewhat dark places. In any case, it's not like they're not looking at the food. They're looking at everything plainly. As usual, one can't tell what they think about the food, since usually they skip this meal not due to food purposes.

Martin chose a random place, but not too random as he made sure to be far away from the most 'important people' in the family. The seat at his right was empty so it felt comfortable.
And well, he noticed just then that he was very hungry. Though now he would have to wait for the others to serve themselves first.

Aereon sat next to the head of the table, since that place was reserved for Elio. She kept her hands in her lap while she looked carefully over everyone present.

Ignas was present as well. He was close by the front where his mother and father were, but not too close. He was probably grumbling and complaining about something.

Elio stands up, motioning for everyone to settle down and move their attention to him, "So, is everyone here?"

Martin was finding it hard to focus with all the food in front of him. He was pretty hungry after all, even if he hadn't really noticed before. At least he tried to pay attention.

Honestly, the narrator expects just no one really responds to the heads except the ones with greater authority.
Kiaan's just too preoccupied...uh, maybe pondering their life purpose. Who knows. In any case, it's hard to tell what they're looking at now. Perhaps it's somewhere in Elio's and Aereon's direction, perhaps not. Maybe they don't even know why they're here but came because a Thaohal told them to. That sounds very Kiaane-like.
