Okay so I basically was toying around with my pupils lol by watching them dilate and contract.
A dark room and a flashlight do the trick.

Sooo uh while watching the movie I was thinking about the way my characters read books. Weird thinking from my part but okay. I'll share it because why not lol

> Okay so I feel like Germaine is the kind of person to sit down on a comfortable chair, maybe a couch, when reading books. She leans back on the, well, back while holding the book almost parallel to her eyes. But when she gets to a part that really interests her, she instead leans forward and stares intensely at the pages while holding the book above her lap.
Also her face is very expressive of the emotions she feels while reading.
> Bixbite prefers to read while sitting at a table. She'd lay the book open in front of her and look down while propping her head up on her fists, because her elbows would be resting on the table. She remains mostly still but shifts a little for comfort, though she moves her eyes instead of her head through the lines. To turn the page she uses her right hand always.
Her face is also expressive, and she talks a little to herself while reading.
> Specter, eh, doesn't read. But if they did, I kinda see them as trying to find a good place to just chill. Like a couch or bed maybe, and lay there on their back while holding the open book parallel to their eye(s) above their head. I also guess I imagine that whenever they get too engrossed in reading, their grip will slack a little and the book just falls on their face like, splat.
Or at some point in their reading the knowledge powers kick in accidentally and they're like "oh haha I already knew this was going to happen" and just abandon the book entirely.

> The Cheetah doesn't really read a lot unless she needs it or something. When she does, though, she sits on a chair with her legs crossed and swinging them. The book is held in front of her with one hand while the other one is half-covering her mouth.
Her eyebrows would move quite a bit, probably being raised or frowning depending on the events.
> Dion has a slight aversion towards physical books so he mostly reads in digital. A lot of the things he reads aren't novels, but that's not important. Whenever he's on his screen to pass the time comfortably, he chooses a nice place to sit (preferably a soft couch) and just sit-slouches back until he kind of sinks into the pillows. All the while, his eyes are lost staring right in front because that's where he sees the content. He stays completely still, only blinking occasionally and sliding his fingers over his arm screen. His face isn't expressive at all.
If he reads physical books, then he'd adopt pretty much the same posture but would probably twist and squirm around to get more "comfortable" while reading. It'd probably lead to his falling off the couch or bed he's laying in. Also, I feel he would drop books on his face rather often.

> Amande chooses straight-backed chairs to read if she can. But if she can't get one, she'll sit stick-straight anyways. She has good posture. Anyways, she's got a straight back but tilts down only her neck to read the book she opens on her lap. She does move her head a little along with her eyes to follow the lines. Her hands have a very light grip on the book's sides. She also keeps her legs quiet and stiff while reading, probably either straight or crossed in a ladylike manner.
Her face is neutral, though not serious.
> Haha Kewl doesn't read that much, especially not books. But in general, when they read, they have a tendency to squint slightly at the words and get their head closer to the text. It's slow reading since they're not quite fluent in this area (Rune's lessons went fine and they can understand though) and Kewl will sound out syllables under their breath, especially for longer words.
After a while they just kind of give up though.

> Martin's favorite reading position, strangely enough, is sitting on the ground with his legs crisscrossed and the book on top of them. He kind of arches his back forward and uses an arm to hold his chin. After a while he gets tired of sitting like that and will stretch a leg. Also, after reading for too long, he ends up with back pains and gets kind of moody.
He tends to frown slightly while reading because of his concentration.
> Aereon also likes to read at a table, but she'll just use it to prop up her wrist. Because she lays her forearms on the table and holds the book in her hands, tilting them upwards at an angle so she can read without craning her neck. If she reads without a table, she also does the same thing but with her elbows close to her torso for support. Also, she crosses her ankles only but keeps her legs mostly relaxed.
She'll "hmm" along with her reading and nod a littlem

I found a picture of a dude that looked like Martin but I lost it shdbsb
I also lost a pic of a girl who looked like Germaine (except for the clothing, but it was aaccurate up to the antlers wow).
Actually I didn't think that I could paste the URLs on here so that y'all could see.
I'm gonna look up the descriptions of Yvonne and Amande now to see if there's a match.

Huh, no Yvonnes, apparently. There's a bunch of girls with matching hair and eye color but the style and pose really do not resemble that of the lazy mage's,,, so nope.
A bunch of girls looked like Germaine with purple eyes tho
Offline
I did find one that kinda looks like Amande. I wasn't expecting that tbh (especially since I just look up the hair and eye color).
A bunch of stuff is not accurate but the general looks are.
I wanna search for Aereon now but my eyes hurt so I'll just go sleep. If I have time I'll try to find more matching pictures tomorrow.

I have no idea of how my cat got into my room but okay well I guess he likes my bed.

I found a girl similar to Aereon but I can't copy the link rn
I'll see if I can find it again later, with some luck.

I'm currently burning my throat with ginger tea (love it, especially since I make it with fresh ginger mmmmm) while {re}reading the short stories of Sherlock Holmes.
Feels really nice to be all warm and cozy while reading, y'know? ;)
I especially like the murder mysteries. Hehe.
Offline
Okay but ngl I'd die for murder mysteries. I really really like them.

Oh haha no pun intended btw.

Significant figures are still kind of a ??? for me since now I'm not quite sure what they're used for. Hopefully the teacher will explain further in the next lessons.
Offline
Ooh, murder mysteries are really good, agreed
Ah,,, sig figs,,,,,, a pain for most high school students, myself included. It only sort of makes sense to me but if I remember right, significant figures are used so that your final answer is only as exact as your least exact measurement. In other words, you can't give a very precise result if one of the numbers you used aren't all that precise. I could be wrong though since my teacher didn't fully explain it to my class when we learned it, so your teacher can probably explain better than I can

Okay one of the descriptions I kinda like from one of my really old writings is "He was carrying [it] as carefully as one would a lit candle in a windy night."
I'm not sure of why I wrote it that way, since in its context it doesn't make much sense, but I like the mental image it gives.
Highly doubt I'd use that comparison again in writing tho. Idk. I'm just not good at that.

Oop sorry Autumn I missed your post!
Yes yes murder mysteries :eyes:.
I'm sure they're useful, and while my teacher is teaching us how to use them, he said he'll explain them further in the next lesson (meaning tomorrow). So yes I'm waiting for that.
And your explanation makes sense!!! Considering how lately we've been going over the differences between precision and accuracy...
Offline
Lol I blame you @Time for this but lately I've had your "bruh" reaction stuck in my mind

One of my biggest weaknesses in writing is probably my tendency to abuse redundance on purpose to make it "funny".
Like, saying "the customers made it their custom" and stuff like that.
I mean xD I personally like it but I'm aware too that it's probably overused.

This girl looks like Germaine with purple eyes

This one is not very accurate but I the hair kinda reminded me of Specter.
Specter with earbuds and bored.

I found one that looked like Elin if his hair were short, but I can't get the link rn.
I guess there's nor many characters with the dark skin/blue eyes/white hair combination.
