Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I kinda feel like maybe I should just play it down to "Aiolia got a concussion" and call it a day
The things he's had to deal with the past...few weeks? Month? Within the 12 Temples arc:
-Slammed the back of his head against a tree after getting punched by Seiya
-Pwned by Genro Mao Ken
-Got kicked across the face by Seiya (or something similar) in an attempt to snap him out of it (it did not work)
-Choked by Cassios (in the anime adaptation)
-Then got punched across the face by Seiya again
-Blood loss and possible nerve damage inflicted by yours truly's Scarlet Needles

Why was Aiolia not with the Bronze Saints at the ER. He also needs to be there
Like look at the rest of the Gold Saints
-Mu: he's fine
-Aldebaran: he's fine
-Shaka: field trip! (he's fine)
-Dohko: he chill
-Milo: maybe a bit of frostbite and some bruising on his face from getting uppercut two times. His armour's good though
-Aiolos: he was already dead he doesn't count
-Saga, Deathmask, Shura, Camus, Aphrodite: DEAD

Meanwhile Aiolia: Possible brain damage, holes in his bones (courtesy of the Netflix adaptation)

Aiolia needs to go to the ER RIGHT NOW

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Linking the Milo vs. Aiolia fight here btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9Dg7ecrgwo
Mostly for my personal reference.

I might be dying because the other day Specter and I were talking about a Star Wars game where you fly a ship and fight against an AI-controlled one and how we had skill issues with the target-oriented torpedoes, and then in this fight you can see Milo basically trying to hit Aiolia with the Leo's own target-oriented torpedo (it doesn't work, but Milo tanks it anyways as you can see with his iconic cross-arm move, whatever it's called.)
I also enjoy Milo trying to sway Aiolia emotionally before they fight and also being a stalker lol (the scorpion fr). It seems really accurate to me.

Other stuff I love:
-Dramatic cape flourish
-Milo's dramatic narrating of the Pope's decisions in general (Milo unintentionally gaslighting Aiolia because the former truly believes the Pope cares for the Saints so much that he'd use a forbidden technique to spare Aiolia's life and believes this so much that Aiolia is about to be convinced by it...meanwhile we ignore the Silver Saints whose ranks pretty much got decimated by the Pope ordering them after the Bronzes instead of ordering a Gold Saint earlier lol)
-Aiolia in general being a lil swayed by Milo's interpretation of the events that he has to default to his faith towards his brother and saying the equivalent of "Okay we fight now. Shut up before I get more confused"
-The Gold Saints calling each other by their full Saint names at least once every time they meet is just so funny
-Milo being Milo (him having to praise Aiolia's technique right before dodging it lmiao it really shows both sides of his pride [he is genuinely complimenting the technique but because of the circumstances it comes off like a backhanded compliment])
-The logic of "your technique is a perfect blend of defence and offence but my scorpion's sting will get to you faster"(??) is so wrong but ends up being right somehow

Btw I see them both as being like 16 years old so this is the equivalent of a wonked-up fight in any other shounen work for me lol

Rip that first shot went right into the heart bruh (the funniest thing about Milo is that he knows how to aim)
HEARTBONES
I know the way they portray Scarlet Needle here is probably to censor it, but I still would like to think that the needle being visible is the result of Milo, who just keeps stalling and stalling. Despite the Pope actually stopping him later.
Plot twist, evil Saga wasn't actually gonna stop Milo, except Milo reasoned for his earlier actions being moral and just so much that he was forced to stop the Scorpio instead to keep the narrative somewhat consistent lol. Milo accidentally saving Aiolia from being killed by himself. It all goes full circle.

Wow writing out the AU Virgo Saint's backstory was the worst decision ever

The Sagittarius hard carries my mental health lol.
Also I'm just completely ignoring some RL stuff going on the other side of the globe just because I'm too weak to think about it, so if there are gods I ask them to please give me some time to delay the karma of doing this (my filial piety is in the negatives)

Also, first formal final in 9 hours! It'll last 3 hours
Idk who came up with the idea of Saturday finals but uhhh. Yeah no I got nothing. Love the professor though. I ended up liking all my profs.

Then I got the heck out of there to torture my arms with strength training

I need 10-year-old Shura biceps, please and thank you.

The funny thing about my school is you don't know how well you do on the final unless the prof feels like inputting the scores (or making the already overloaded TAs input them ig). So if you screwed yourself over by failing the final, the only way you can tell is by seeing the final grade. Oh yeah also if you wanna see what actually happened you have to pay $100 per test. Very nifty.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Okay, so between Origin and Destiny what I got is this:

If Ker wasn't just a troll Athena's army would be dead dead.
Things she's done:
-Killed off half of the Gold Saints and the Pope by sending out a Lemur to possess baby Saga (Shion, Aiolos, very nearly baby Athena; Camus, Shura, Deathmask, Aphrodite, and Saga himself in the Gold Temples arc)
-Killed off pretty much all the Silver Saints by proxy as well (either by Saga sending them out as assassins or by assassinating them himself, e.g. Albiore/Daidalos)
-Took advantage of Kanon starting a Holy War between Poseidon and Athena to further weaken Athena's forces
I find it ironic that she criticizes Kanon for thinking of himself as being evil when she only thinks of herself as being a tool for her lord Hades and her older brothers Hypnos and Thanatos. Like ngl not a single one of those gods--or any other god who has appeared in canon--can hold a candle for the chaos she has freaking caused. Get this woman some powers. She could wreak havoc

Ngl I'm surprised Kurumada wrote such a competent female villain lol. She girlbossed a little too much. If she were more canon and actually appeared during the Hades arc (which I feel is a plot hole) I feel like everything would have gone worse. Guess she's too bad at fighting though, since Kanon throwing a trident at her face worked.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

On the mythology front, I mentioned that I like the idea. Still pertains.

From what I can tell, the idea of the lemure and Ker herself are more mythologically accurate compared to Hades the big bad god of death (he isn't that bad but death=edgy oooo. Though ngl the older I get the more I feel like maybe SS's version makes sense too. Bro drew the worst lot between Poseidon, Zeus, and him, and then he has to see the worst of humanity even after they die. 'Course bro is cynical). Lemures are Roman malignant spirits, which generally speaking seems to fit (even if I do think Saga's own evil side is more interesting). And then the Keres are actually related to Thanatos and Hypnos as daughters of Nyx, and supposedly watch the battlefield in search of bloody deaths and bodies (they themselves cannot kill, which answers why Ker herself does not appear in the Hades arc...ig. Now that I know she exists, though, there's no hecking way she didn't try even more schemes, or won't try them after the current Bronze Saints are dead).

I'm also trying to piece together Saga and Kanon's lore, so here's a shoddy attempt at it ig.
-Both of them were supposed to be the first Gold Saint of the current Holy War/generation, as indicated by a falling star (apparently they're immediately kidnapped by a star upon birth or something idk [plz])
-> But Ker did a lil trollin' and sent in a third Gemini, which Dohko successfully found out to be one of Hades' 108 Stars rather than one of the 88 constellations of the Saints
-> Interesting point here is that Dohko initially ascertained there to be only 1 star, and then 2, and then 3, which to me might imply that from the start, both Saga and Kanon had their fates intertwined with both Gemini and Keres' star?
-Shion refused to kill the third Gemini because it was only a baby, and then he got pwned by the third Gemini, apparently losing his memories? [idk what happened for Dohko, who retained his consciousness]
-> Ker states that "no matter how weird the Libra and Aries [Dohko and Shion] feel about it, they will only ever perceive the star as a second personality" (but again idk what happened on Dohko's end)
-15 years later (13 years ago from the canon timeline), Saga has become a Gold Saint, as has Aiolos, and Aiolos is announced as the Pope's successor. Saga confronts Shion on the top of Star Hill and assassinates him. He then tries to kill the newly incarnated baby Athena but is stopped by Aiolos. After sending Shura after Aiolos, Saga tries to kill himself to end everything early, but is stopped by Ker.
-> Aiolos dies, and Saga poses as Shion for the next 13 years, mostly being in control of himself but slowly becoming overwhelmed by the evil spirit/his evil half
-One day, while Kanon is still in Cape Sounion's prison, Ker visits Kanon and invites him to assassinate Athena. But despite literally proclaiming that he'll do so a few moments before (he said he'd kill Athena and Saga), he hesitates. Ker is disappointed and leaves him to drown to death.

-Seiya, using Athena's shield, finally/inadvertently exorcises the lemur from Saga,
-Kanon first gets out of Cape Sounion's prison and tracks down Ker (who was watching Saga and Seiya fight, and sees the lemur get exorcised). He tries to pwn her with a trident knowing that she messed with the destinies of him and his brother
-> Ker is, as SS gods are, highly offended that a mortal of all people wounded her, but she swallows her pride because she sees that Kanon already thinks he is evil and as such can be of use to her and the side of Hades (I'm ngl she's quickly becoming my favorite antagonist deity lol wth)
-> Kanon wakes up a few moments later (apparently, like literally in a few seconds) and forgets about Ker. He returns his priorities to tracking down Poseidon with the trident he has found
-With the spirit exorcised, Saga is finally able to complete his suicide in repetenance for everything "he" has done
-At this same time, Kanon (whose history being a Gold Saint I still know nothing about, except he apparently had equivalent training as the Gemini Gold Saint and uhh yeah, idk who else even knew him) has just fallen into Poseidon's Temple (somehow, the dude is speed) and physically felt his twin's death. Saga impaled himself on the chest, so Kanon feels something similar. He condemns his brother's weakness for not completely committing himself to evil and vowed to do better by reviving Poseidon and eventually gaining dominion over the entire Earth

-After assembling the generals, Kanon apparently is confronted by Isaac, who feels from him the aura of a Gold Saint. Kanon shows his face and identity (while apparently knowing that Isaac is the disciple of Camus,,, how does this guy get his info I wonder), but ultimately emphasizes the upcoming Holy War after demonstrating a weaker version of Galaxian Explosion to a guy who is. Literally a teenager. Despite distrusting Kanon, Isaac chooses not to question further at the time or convey his suspicions to the other Marina Generals.
-During the Bronze Saints' final confrontation with Poseidon, Kanon realizes the Cosmo that stopped him from drowning all these years (dude was pretty much waterboarded by his brother for 13 years. We don't. talk about that) was Athena's, and blocks Poseidon's trident on her behalf. He's then presumed to have died.

-Kanon wakes up or something a little before the Holy War with Hades begins. Bro's not doing too well after getting impaled by a god's weapon (seriously, how), and he considers killing himself like his older brother did to repent for his actions. However, he ultimately decides that killing himself is the coward's way out, and doesn't repay Athena for all the times she saved his life. Consequently, he returns to Sanctuary, remaining in the shadows, presumably taking back control of the Gemini Cloth
-Meanwhile, it turns out Ker is involved with some of the Gold Saint reviving (she thought Kanon died because she thought he was about to kill himself and left him to do that. too bad for her though lol, dude changed his mind). Specifically, she asks Saga if he wants to try to kill Athena again (and the dude says No), but Deathmask and Aphrodite haven't had a cold in their lives ever and the Eighth Hell is apparently too much for them. After seeing them go traitor, and hearing that three other Saints (Camus, Shura, and Shion) have already agreed to go to Sanctuary, Saga agrees to go too (in what I assume is him being able to do math even while freezing for eternity and realising that if Deathmask and Aphrodite are with him, and there are 3 other Gold Saints who agreed to it, then one of the Gold Saints must either be Aiolos or Shion, and those two would definitely have a good reason to agree to doing something treacherous like this. I like this lore. Good on him.
-> Interesting part btw...if Saga was conscious in the Eighth Hell and only Deathmask and Aphrodite were with him, where were Camus/Shura/Shion? The sixth hell?
-> Also as a note, Ker interprets that he doesn't want to be the only goodie-two-shoes/wants to live, but I'm pretty sure that's her conflating him with her impressions of Kanon. Like this is Saga without a Lemur in him lol no hecking way.
-And then the rest of Hades Sanctuary plays out.

I'm not too sure how to feel about some of the chronology, but some of it is really interesting. Maybe rereads in the future will yield more too.

Ker is ridiculously efficient lol ngl.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Reasons why I like Ker:
-Her helmet has a beard
-"I'm Ker." No "I'm the goddess of destiny, puny mortals!" just "I'm Ker." to anyone. lol
-I love the thematic contrast with Kanon
-the only SS god I can remember who can swallow their pride at being nicked across the face by a puny mortal from what I can tell (you could say at least she got nicked across the face by a 28-year-old guy with a god's trident rather than the fists of a 14-year-old, but I'm pretty sure to the gods those two things are the same)

Kanon: I'll kill you, Saga! AND Athena! Once I get out of here!
Ker: *pops out of nowhere* Sup.
Kanon: What the.
Ker: I can help you get out of here. And kill Athena. Want in?
Kanon: What.
Ker: Disappointment. Die then. *leaves*

There's also the incredibly freaking hilarious dynamic of Kanon calling her "Little girl" every time they meet, and her having to say something like "I'm not a little girl, I saw you when you were born." I'm with Kanon here, you're definitely a little girl, Ker.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

So from what I can gather:
-Camus probably wasn't cast into the Eighth Hell because he's literally the Saint of Ice. Dude is just used to it. Or his actions didn't count as treason (dude was pretty much committing double treason even then imo lol, he let down Athena by prioritizing "teaching" his disciple by beating said disciple up more than literally saving her life, and also by letting Shun and Seiya through his Temple he wasn't fulfilling the duties of a Gold Saint either really lol).
-Shura is technically loyal to Athena, dude is just stupid (dw I know he was 10 years old and indoctrinated,,, but yeah)
-Shion was fine, he just got pwned for refusing to kill a baby apparently

And then for the Prison of Ice we have:
-Deathmask and Aphrodite--acted as Saga's lackeys...so I guess this counts as treason against Athena? I am curious if treason against her counts as a crime in Hades' realm. Maybe.
-Saga--even if you don't count his treason against Athena (again, idk if that's the reason for sure), dude definitely conspired against the gods. I mean, the dude was probably clinically insane spiritually speaking, but the gods (and the judge Lune) aren't known to be the most fair. Plus he's one of Athena's Saints so, y'know, whatever.
-Honourable mentions--later, Aiolos, Milo, and Mu get tossed by Rhadamanthys into here because ig they "conspired against the gods" (Hades), but also because it's his domain and it makes the most sense, I suppose.

The reason I'm guessing Camus, Shion, Shura, and possibly Aiolos are in different prisons is 'cause Saga seems conscious and he didn't know that they were revived. Deathmask and Aphrodite need to redirect their acting skills towards more than just "Hey we're the resident losers of our rank" tho. It's kinda sad to see.
Maybe Shura and Camus were in the Sixth Prison for Violence? Makes sense to me. The two dudes are filled with violence. Especially Shura.
Idk where Shion and Aiolos were, those two did nothing wrong, technically.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Just to add on to the double treason thing, I mean look, every other Gold Saint standing on the Pope's side roughed up the Bronze Saints a lil. Aldebaran, Saga's illusions kinda sucked at doing anything other than confusing them [outside of conveniently yeeting Hyoga and then getting interfered with by Camus again] but I digress, Shaka beat 'em up, Milo beat up Shiryu and Seiya before Hyoga came, Shura gave them a bad time, Aphrodite tries to stop Seiya. What does Camus do? "Okay bye I'm gonna try to beat up Hyoga again."
My biggest critique of Camus' character: Sir couldn't this have hecking waited??

And then I'll just drop two nonsensical observations
-The more past one: I've always wondered if the Pisces Cloth being so orange like the Marinas' scales is just for aesthetics or if it actually had a past connection with the Marinas. I think this one is just my fan headcanon though since it's probably an anime-only colour thing. Still, I refuse to give it up lol. :-P Imagine the orange parts were the original Scale and then it's supplemented by pieces of the material for the Gold Cloth. I think that'd be very cool, especially seeing as the first Holy War between Poseidon and Athena had Poseidon win (and that's where the Cloths came from).
-Ngl Isaac reminds me of Aquarius Mystoria (Camus' technically canon predecessor). Ofc I think both he and I want Hyoga to be the Aquarius instead, eventually, but the resemblance is a bit uncanny. Plus he can apparently counter Kanon's Galaxian Explosion [while Kanon is holding back] even as a Bronze Saint candidate. No wonder Hyoga thought he was more talented.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Anyways, that aside, thanks for the cool fanart! I do have to ask though, why is there a guy sleeping in a cage

Editing now so to not make a new post
SS Awakening's gacha is apparently not worse than F/GO's. Not because of luck but because its pity system is better.
I hit pity by accident and got Shion again. Mie mie.
On the other hand, I also have enough currency to buy evil Saga, but apparently his skills need a lot of investment and while I've seen how OP he can be, I'm not really one to like sacrificing allies for one unit.
Adding onto that, the next unit in the store will be Sea Dragon Kanon, and technically if I get him I'll get two for the price of one (I don't think he's very good, but when he gets pwned Saga comes to stand in his place for a bit and I just think that's sweet)
I'll wait 'til May 1 ig. If Saga or Kanon in their Gold Cloths pop up instead I'd probably be even more content to wait, but I doubt it because the guy I put in their zodiac is a clowny clown and I don't think Saga'd be amused (meanwhile if Kanon wants to show up to indicate his approval of my headcanon that he and Wiley would get along......)

Y'know maybe if the final chem exam was from 12 A.M. to 3 A.M. I would actually do better
Everything makes sense at this hour. 9 A.M. though? Nahhh, like why do I even exist

(for food. For good food. Also more emotional stuff probably, like hugging my mom and hugging you guys [if you allowed me to, virtually]. Also playing
3 A.M. = mental regression to 3-year-old, meaning my maximum age is 24 according to the 24-hour clock and 12 according to the 12-hour clock. Meaning my attempt to use the 24-hour clock is merely a self-delusion)

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

Mentioning also that I will be going inactive probably starting like right now. My final final exam is on Tuesday, and then on the same day I'll go to the airport, and the next day (Wednesday) I'll be going through flights and stuff. Before that I'll need to pack and clean the kitchen (I don't have much to pack, ironically, just lots of stuff to throw out because I hoard apparently)

I was really about to forget to mention this and disappear like I usually do (lol)

I get to see my mom again in-person, I'm very excited. :D
And as a reflection in case I fail my chem final and become depressed, overall I'm pretty happy with my first year of college. I think I tried my best to do what I could. Now could I have done more, especially out of academics? Yeah. But at least I didn't keep letting myself wallow in mistakes. The first few days were rough and I got past that, and I think that's good, especially seeing how the culture here is just going on a downward spiral. I'm hoping with every year I can do even better. Overall I want to make sure the college experience for me is a worthwhile investment, and I want to keep pushing my comfort zone and unironically grow as a person. I'm a bit worried because as the years go it's gonna get harder for sure (classes and assignments, and commitments, and stuff I need to get done for the long-term), but that's okay, I just need to take advantage of the fact I usually see things before they're coming and plan accordingly.

Y'know, all of a sudden I remembered this car game I used to play on CoolMathGames, where you had to dodge obstacles while driving forward. The analogy I guess would be that I usually can see the roadblocks coming. I just need to prepare better instead of just staring and keeping my hand on the controls.
Yea.

Re: Cosmic Dim. (V. XVIII), You're Correct but You're Not Right

I took an extra 10 seconds to find my passport (security flipped my whole backpack inside out and I had to repack) and the guy was about to deport me
Hopefully the next one in like 6 hours is nicer. I’m running on 1 hour of sleep plus yesterday’s four lol

I find it funny how a bad airport experience is apparently universal
