i think they still worship dust in its other capacities too, but it's primarily worshipped as a weapon for the act of boiling vengeance

fun fact about dust and shadow hell's star: dust appears soulless, however that is not technically the case! dust's soul is in shadow hell, unable to leave or be found as it hangs in the shadows' skies as the single burning white star. so to basically everybody, dust is soulless. zero soul in its vessels. but if it took somebody to shadow hell, they would find its soul the only light in the infinite darkness.
unrelated fun fact: dust's control over darkness is not magical. its only magical things are the gray fire and wolf mask. dust's control is founded in its will to dominate the lesser shadows to its bidding. and dust's will is very powerful, so mindless shades cannot disobey even with the presence of another power.
