(So small next to them-, Aestus is around 8’2 and Caligo is 4’9 I think)
"I am completely blind." Aestus said plainly, he thought it was obvious by now, guess not, granted she does get around alright on their own.
Offline
(Well Aster is human....)
Aster dropped his notebook upon hearing this. "No way...I would have never guessed." he said sarcastically. "Let me guess, you want me to help you see? I can do that, and it would only take 5 minutes."
Offline
(To be fair, Aetsus’s mortal species is naturally quiet tall, but my man still gigantic even by this standard)
"Why ask if you knew already…" Aetsus snapped, before realising what Aster said "wait…really?" They had been told it couldn’t be fixed, he was in complete disbelief at the possibly that after so long, it could be fixed.

(Aster is a twig compared to the noodle of blindness in front of him.)
"Well yes. It's quite easy. You're not the only blind person I know. The Kyng himself is as blind as you are. Well, in a way. He's extremely near-sighted to the point where you would have to be kissing him for him to be able to even see an outline of your face. I didn't really anticipate that when the Limiter was made, but all is well. Arithnia turned out damn well if I do say so myself. Gotta say I did rather good..."
Offline
Caligo chuckled hearing that.
"I am not sure i understand what a limiter is or what this has to do with your country" Aestus said confused.
"How do you know one would need to kiss the king for him to see this person? Did you kiss him?" Caligo asked jokingly

"Remember the cases your brought in? One of them, the smaller one, was the Limiter. The other was the Black Box, an item that manufactures a very specific part of the Limiter that keeps Crimson alive for a good while. I tried to cure his blindness, but the Scale Rust is too deep into his blood to effectively wipe. Perks of being a Kyng I guess. And this isn't a country, it's a continent. We don't have boarders or things like that....at least I don't think."
Offline
Aestus nodded, Caligo however seemed bewildered and concerned "he go rusted scales in his blood?!?! It explain why we haven’t seen him but ouch" Caligo exclaimed
Offline
"Not exactly. Scale Rust is rather odd, even I'm not sure where it came from, though I can guess. But Scale Rust is very...aggressive on his body. What happens is that the more and more he moves, his blood cells, the red stuff that you see when you get a cut or whatnot, becomes crystalized and extremely hard LIKE a scale, and gains a crystalline property that is razor sharp. That's the Scale part. The Rust is due to this process happening by rapid oxygenation happening in the blood, like hyperventilation. The more and more his blood moves around, the faster the 'Scales" spread and shred his body. The Limiter is a dialysis machine of sorts that prevents this cycle."

(I know I describe their world as medieval, but there are futuristic stuff too, mostly cause of the war, got advancement in war stuff, discovered it could be used for other stuff too, that how some stuff were discovered irl)
Caligo seems to understand what Aster is talking about more than Aestus, medical books aren’t very available to the blind unfortunately.
"Ooo that make more sense, but that’s still horrifying" Caligo concluded, then thought for a moment "maybe I can help?" They said, unsure. "Are you sure?" Aestus asked "worth a shot?" Cal replied.

(Arithnia is rather advanced, more so than one may think.)
"Well considering the materials made for these bracers, I'm sure you know a bit. And no, before you even get a word out, magic does not work on Crimson. There are somethings I have to keep private. Patient information is confidential after all. It doesn't matter if you can materialize anything, use some form of blood magic, you can't cure the Scale Rust. I would say ask Crimson himself, but he's not in the best of states..."
(Some things are meant to be kept secret. And I will say it now, you physically, magically or even realistically cure Scale Rust. Crimson holds a power...a very certain one at that, which allows him to go against order.)

(Damn, he is like, a god of chaos or something)
Caligo looked dejected "yeah I bet, too bad I can’t help… " they suddenly remember what they were here for. "you should help Aestus at least, got their hope up and everything earlier." Caligo pointed out, they got a little side tracked there
"We’ll still help in other ways, Flare explained the, temperature, predicament Crimson was in, more of less" Aestus chimed in.
(I imagine Aetsus doing the saddest, most pathetic puppy eyes ever right there, not in the rp of course but I find it funny)

(Arithnia doesn't have gods so to speak. At least, the way you think of them, there aren't.)
"Ah, he told you the worse case of the Limiter fails? Well, that saves time. Eventually he will have to go into the Firing Chamber...but let's put my top patient aside, I can cure your blindness while you're in Arithnia, but outside of it, I don't know if it will work. Our magic is vastly different than one thinks...."
Offline
Aestus nodded a little sadden that this may be only temporary "it’s quite alright, I’ll just make the most of the time I get I suppose" "we’re literally made of magic so maybe it will get absorbed and stay with some luck?" Caligo added, Aetsus only smiled sadly, it’s a nice thought, he think.
Offline
"In theory, if that is true, you could retain some sight, albeit with some difficulty. Many peoples magic works in different ways, so who knows. Might get lucky and end up like Crimson with extreme near-sight, or maybe it could be corrected eventually. Not my forte to judge." Aster tossed his notebook onto his desk and began to rummage through his drawers. "I don't suppose you have some sort of ring or such?" he asked, his head deep in a drawer.
Offline
"A ring? What for" Aestus asked, confused.
Offline
Aster popped his head out and raised an eyebrow. "I'm not Merlin you fool. My magic is the oldest type there is. I use Runes and objects to cast my magic. I don't use words or wordles magics like some do."
Offline
(Hmmmm thinking of what to give for this)
"So it’s a sort of enchantment I see. Hmm" Aestus thought about what object could be use for this. He reached behind his shirt’s collar and pulled out a necklace. "You kept it?!"Caligo exclaimed seeing it "of course, it’s rude to throw away a gift." Caligo was so happy he cried a little.
"Would this do?" Aestus asked Aster, showing the necklace, it seems like a very simple necklace, with a small silver chain, what was surprising was the pendant, a crescent moon with a surprisingly amount of carved details on it, small indents were carved on the back as well, it look like it’s only half of a pair.
Offline
"A Sun to a Moon, I think that would fit your motif a lot." Aster took the necklace and looked at it and turned it over a few times. "Yes, I can work with this. And Caligo, if you so wish, I could actually make something for your body to heal faster, thus releasing some pain, but you'll have to deal with a side effect..."
Offline
Caligo blinked, confused "I already heal pretty fast? I am not even injured, my body just hurt for no reason, but thanks anyway"
(I made the necklace up on the spot and alerted my brain is making the scenario of how they got it, and I am crying so I think am gonna write it down and post it in the writing thread)
Offline
(Don't worry, I've done some made-up, last-minute lore before too. I understand the pain XD)
"Trust me, it'll help a lot more than you think. But once a month, you'll have to turn into a statue while your body degrades slowly and restores. Only for 24 hours though. Can't have Vio making you too strong now can we?" Aster looks at the forth wall and winks.
"Ahem, that aside, give me 5 minutes and I'll finish the necklace Aestus."

(It’s annoying but fun! I mostly let my characters possess me and decide and it work somehow)
"What." Caligo squealed our, confused trying to find where Aster seemed to be looking at to no avail. They feel self conscious, and like something or someone is describing their every action and thoughts, even dictating what they say. And then it was gone, they blinked and shook their head confused at what had happened.
Aestus nodded, a bit confused as to who ‘Vio’ is but not questioning anymore than that.
(Fourth wall breaking!)

(That's how I do my RP's. I just think like my Characters. Technically Arithnia doesn't even have names for it continents. Garcarnia is just a name I thought of on the fly, and personally I like it.)
Aster hummed as small flares of blue light came from his palm. "So, uh, are you two married or something? Or engaged like Fang and Crimson? What's your deal?"
(Mostly 4th walls are reserved for Crimson...sometimes.)

(Hyvxdtg, i accidentally made you do world building, nice, also that question-)
Both gods were suddenly very flustered, Aestus’s wings even puffed up at the unexpected question, while Caligo hide behind his.
"P-pardon?" Aestus eventually managed to utter out. "We’re just friends! Colleague even, two side of the same coin?" Caligo exclaimed at the same time.
(Love that everyone assume they are together, everyone is correct these two idiots just don’t realise it yet)

"Mhm, Crimson and Fang say the same thing you know. I may be old, but I know love when I see it." Aster chuckled warmly and handed the necklace to Aestus. In part with the crescent moon, there was a small sun in it. He then tossed a bracelet to Caligo. "For your joints. It's going to take a good while before I get Shard to make the exoskeleton."
Offline
"Ah, thanks you." They will try not to think of what Aster could mean by that, they will not. They refused. Hell what were they even thinking about? Nothing that’s what!
(The denial)
Caligo wordlessly took the bracelet, took shocked by the words said to them and still processing it all.
(You ruined my aesthetic! Cal is supposed to have the other half, a sun that clips perfectly with that moon! Might look cool tho, think a star could be cool too hmmmm)

(Don't worry, Crimson is the same way...Fang too. Granted at least they accept part of it. And Caligo and Aestus can create using dust, I don't see why they can't change the shape of the items. I'd allow it.)
"Yeah, thank you." Aster said to himself.

(Yay! Also Aster broke them I think)
Caligo put the bracelet on, before looking it over, she unsure on how it’s supposed to help him.
Aetsus just traced the pattern of the necklace, he knew he probably only needed to put it on for it to work. They were also terrified of what would happen when she does. What if he hate what they saw? What if she like what he saw. Knowing it’s probably only temporary, it hurt. She will see Caligo for the first time. He will see themselves for the first time.
They don’t feel ready. "I…thanks you."Aestus said while getting up, holding the necklace tightly "We should leave you alone now, you seemed busy before we got there, sorry for that" he slowly backed away toward the door while speaking, Caligo following, giving a small thanks as they passed Aster.
Offline
Aster smiled softly and waved them out. He quickly went back to his computer and began to type furiously.
The necklace and bracelet gave a small glimmer and glowed a light blue...
Offline
(Hmmm suspicious)
"You not putting it on?" Caligo asked as they walked back to their room, "I am! I just…not yet. Not yet." Aestus replied, his hands trembling, Caligo grabbed onto their sleeve "hey, there is no rush, ok?" Cal reassured, smiling brightly, hoping it would come out in his tone. Aestus took a deep breath, and nodded. Later, they tell themselves, later.
(Screaming at myself for delaying the one thing I always wondered about, how would Aestus react to seeing Cal for the first time after gaining sight?)

(It would be a gradual thing I would assume, considering it would realistically be an overflow of information to the brain. Personally I would tie a blindfold around her eyes to let her get used to bright...well lights and go from there.)
"Well, that's a surprise. Aster actually helped you two? How sweet of him." Fang said, walking past the two to Aster's medical bay. Flare was carrying a beautiful onyx box with a small brush on top of it. "I am glad to see you two are happy..."
