Well, that shadow being can only copy what it's seen, right? You could go easy and therefore use only the abilities you've seen Hitan use. I know for sure he can use his wings' feathers as telekinetically-controlled darts!
Do the Shadowed look very similar to the being they're copying? If you did a description aah then I'm sorry I didn't pay attention.
