Well, the voices fade in the distance.
Offline
He just grabbed a t-shirt and some looser jeans from his currently limited clothing choice. Apparently Dion's fast at changing.
Once he was done, he opened the door again and looked around.
Offline
Nothing indicates anyone who wasn't supposed to be around was around last night. The vent's on in the hotel kitchen. Wait, there wasn't a stove before--
Offline
Dion stepped around carefully, almost as if he expected someone to jump out at him for no reason. The working vent attracted him... though he had mentioned the previous night that he was going to stay out of the kitchen. Well, he didn't stick to his word.
Offline
"Eyyy, look who has short term memory loss," greeted Wiley, who wasn't really wearing an apron but had taken off his lab coat. Unfortunately for Dion the bottom layer is still just more white.
Offline
"I do not have short term memory loss!" He said while backing away from Wiley almost comically.
Offline
"I'm not going into the kitchen ever again," came the mocking response, then Wiles's voice turned more into an imitation of a 5-year-old. "Never. Ever. Going there aggaiiiinnn!"
Offline
"I didn't think you'd return to the kitchen!!!"
Offline
"Why not?" He sounded genuinely curious.
"Bro tip, he always will do what you think he won't," Raez said, appearing near the entrance of the place. "Except for if you think he won't shut up, because he actually won't shut up."
"Not very nice of you, Raez," Wiley noted nonchalantly, going back to his...concoction of heat on the apparently new stove?
Offline
Dion once again was startled by Raez appearing. He's visibly nervous, and continues backing away from the kitchen. "Okay. I'll keep that in mind."
Offline
"Yeah." Raez gives Dion an encouraging nod. "C'mon, help us set up the table!"
Offline
"Sure," Dion turned around. He was certainly not in the mood to deal with Wiley at the moment.
Offline
By 'us', Raez seemed to mean 'me'. Rai wasn't around yet. Which makes it slightly questionable, perhaps? Anyways, Raez had taken anything they already had in the place and had opted with the other half of the table.
Offline
Dion tried to make himself useful, I guess. Though he wondered where Rai was. But he didn't ask yet.
Offline
"Sorry about him, by the way," Raez mumbled at some point. "Wiles, I mean."
Offline
"Hah," Dion let out a little laugh. "Guess it can't be helped."
Offline
He shook his head. "No, that's no excuse."
Offline
"It's not like you're responsible for him," he sighed sharply.
Offline
"Kinda am though," he said with a sigh of his own.
Offline
"You're not old enough to be his dad," Dion mentioned while looking around for some reason.
Offline
"Kinda am though."
Offline
He turned with a strange look. "What do you mean by that?"
Offline
"If I hit puberty at, like, age 11 or so? Could be his father. But fathers aren't the only ones who take care of people, you know."
Offline
"Well, duh," he mumbled. "So what are you to him?"
Dion checks the table and puts his hands on it.
Offline
"Probably a bona fide babysitter or somethin'," he mumbled.
Offline
"I'm sorry for you. And where's Rai?"
Offline
He chuckled lightly. "Oh, he went downstairs for a tiny bit. Talked about...'stab preventions'?" He frowned slightly. "He said you--well, we--don't have to wait for him since he ate fairly recent. And he said he'll talk to you later but 'for now, enjoy your soy sauce food'."
Offline
"Why'd he eat without us? Well, food's good either way. So when do we start eating?" Dion put his hands on his hips and smiled expectanty.
Offline
Raez was about to remind Dion that Rai didn't eat like normal humans, but decided to answer the latter part instead. He said, "You can start eating without us. I can, uh, check on Wiley in the kitchen. Do you want me to try to keep him away from you while you eat for a bit? I can manage, like, 5 minutes."
Offline
He nodded. "Yes." Then he corrected himself. "Yes, please. You're nicer than him too."
